that may not be the issue, i can suggest to u two software programs that will run stress test on you gpu/cpu and all other hardwares and it'll record their clock rate, average fps. and core temp in C* First is the easiest to use is MSI Afterburner and MSI Kombustor, install them, open after burner and hit I in the left corner and the stress test will start then u can see, if you computer's heat temp goes up very quickly, there could be a few things wrong, I recommend removing the Heatsink cleaning all the dust and crap built up around it, if it still over heats then your Heat sink isn't working or is going out. or in worst case your cores could be damaged which is unlikely but possible due to constant overload

ok, open steam, right click arma 2, select properties, select local file tab, then select verify system cache. (do that to all arma 2 related games in your library, once you have completed that, then close out steam completely, then reopen steam, launch arma 2 to main menu, then log out, then do the same to all arma 2 related games in your library, make sure you allow, accpet,nect, OK anything that pops up make sure they all run to the main menu. then try launching steam again.

well you are honest, i will give you that. First of all why the hell did u download a cd key stealer, never download anything like that because it makes you look like a hardcore hacker and no one here will help you, convience me your not a hacker and i will help you. Ok wee man, whats is the issues you are having, from start to finish. tell me the errors you get, the type of arma install you bought. Plus you are not a moron, arma 2 is a very difficult game to get your head around when it's your first time, i'll be more than happy to fix your issues. theres sevreal ways we can do this, You post screen shots of all the items i tell you to screen shot and make adjustments as needed. Download/install team viewer and let me do it for you. download/install teamspeak and i can try and talk you through it. i have Skype, Mumble and Ventrilo as well.

Your problem isn't screen tearing, That's your Ambient Occlusions It's the HD radeon, nvidia has a similar thing, but it actually tears a rip in the screen from time to time. To fix this you need to open your Radeon Control panel. set your settings to the Master Set for Arma, if you don't know how to do that, i will be more than happy to help you. i would give you your settings over this thread but i dont want other people to copy the wrong information. or set it up themselves and causeing more issues. so i need to know, your OS,Ram, PCI-Express Slot settings and the good ole HD radeon settings. Im very familiar with Radeon HD cards and quite good at Optimizing them, notice i said "Optimize" not Overclock. i can even tune your motherboard for optimization, key word again "optimization" not Overclock.

Honestly, buying a Beefy Rig is not as expsensive as most people think, Most people, when you say Custom build PC the first thing that comes to mind is $$$$, its not true, i can build a great pc that will not only play dayz, but make dayz it's bitch, without spending over 900$. All you need is the right stuff, the stuff you should spend the most money on is CPU and GPU, everything else is run of the mill at that point, you can get a great motherboard, great liquid water cpu cooler, Ram, Powersupply Gold, and a SSD for very cheap. the cpu and gpu is what is gonna cost the $$$. buy on newegg.com during holidays or weekend sale's events, u can save up to 300$ Plus if you already have a harddrive and a windows 7 OS u can just switch those over and you use the SSD for arma 2/steam, note ssd only works well with games that require indexing, so pretty much 90% of games made today do not require that feature. but , i do noticed my Planet side 2 when i run it off ssd, it seems more fluent and flawless, not scrachie and hazy. i got a intel in my wifes computer, inside my computer i have the 120gb Kingston SSD, remember SSD doesn't increase FPS it just makes the Process between cpu and gpu alot easier thus no bottle necking on the HDD/SSD. Get the cheapest one, it'll still run circles are the 7200rpm though, i did install her SSD on my pc to run a few stress test, did i notice a huge difference? not enough to make a fuss. so technically its all about size. (if your hardcore performance gamer, then yea go intel)

i'll say this amd sucks compared to intel in performance but in price AMD blows Intel away by far. amd 3.0ghz isn't as fast as a Intel 3.0ghz, i love AMD and i Love Intel, both are great products i just love performance and if i have the extra dollar, Intel gets it

lemme just tell you something and i'll pull key words out of your post to tell you how and why your wrong I Quote "From all games I've ever played, including some pretty bad optimized titles, Arma 2 still holds a flag of the game with the lowest performance." one, arma 2 is not a game, its a combat simulator. two: arma 2 is not like MOST GAMES YOU'VE PLAYED, because arma 2 is not like any other game because ITS NOT A GAME. go into COD, world of warcraft, starcraft, BF3, Counter-strike GO, Assasinscreed 3, bioshock, farcry, left 4 dead. see if any of those games folder's have any PBO files in them, they don't. they .exe off your HDD and your RAM GPU AND CPU are the contenders but arma 2 however is all about PBO files that have to be indexed if your HDD is slow your processor and gpu are gonna bottle neck as a result. This "Game" is not poorly optimized, i run it at 80-100 fps on highest settings, how is that possible, if the game is SO poorly optimized? Get a SSD/(intel) 3.0ghz(AMD) 3.5ghz processor and a gtx 5 series and/or radeon hd 7 series and up, there u just got 70 fps and thats minum, but again that can't happen because like you said, its poorly optimized. gambla knows arma 2 engine better than anyone i;ve met on these forums, so your talking to a brick wall mate, you and your holy war can stop actting like you have any knowledge about this "GAME".

Nope, nope and NOPE! i'll tell you what your issue is, you got good amount of ram, your graphic card is within limits(by a wide margin), but your 2.8Ghz processor and the fact its AMD isn't fast enough. For AMD you need like 3.3 or 3.5ghz, plus a 120gb ssd would make all the better
