Basically untill standalone comes out this has been a perma fix for the time being. If you are "lagging"aka Bottle-necking or not getting the FPS you know you deserve. It's simple. talk all the crap you want. i do not give a shit. wanna learn something about computers. Example arma if i take water.pbo roads.pbo Plants2.pbo all the items and objects that the game sees the most of, if you stuck those files inside a ramdisk then use a symbolic link to trick the computer in thinking the files are inside the arma 2 folder even though a 298,000kb files is turned into 1kb so insted of your computer's HDD trying to process that, wouldn't it make more sense just to stick the huge files inside a ramdisk to run it off ram? so your computer can stop processing such a huge load? and work on the smaller load? can you wrap your head around that?

Please don't talk about something if you have no idea what your talking about. This is for people who have less than 6 gb of RAM on their pc's... doesn't matter if its a labtop *notebook* or 20 GB of RAM. With that said, if you have 20 GB of RAM and your graphics suck... you got screwed over. All these ramdisk videos i keep posting are for new players and people who don't know much about arma or pc's in general. For you to be rude and troll the forums is just nonsense. if you installed the game through retail... reinstall it completely and removed everything arma 2 related... if it is bought via steam then right click arma 2 , arma 2 OA, arma 2 BAF and arma 2 PM, select all 4 in order, then go to properties, go to local file, then verify game cache and do that to all 4 games in this order arma2,arma2 OA,Arma2BAF,Arma2PrivateMilitary. and you system files should be ok.

lol, u f'd up. but, very easy fix. When you play dayz, you must keep in-mind that it's a mod, and for all mods you gotta create a folder on your desktop labeled something you can remember, I used Arma2 P B O, with that being said, when i download my maps i just go into settings and i change the dayz path to the folder destination on my desktop. once im done, i just change it back to the file destination. ummmm, well then, why is it when i turn the MB from the HardDrive to RAM, all a sudden my dayz flys like superman on crack, forget the fact i have 12GB of RAM installed. My gpu/cpu isn't the best money can buy, but no were near as bad as it was, without Ramdisk. The best is a Soild State Drive *SSD* but if what your saying is true, then, these should not boost any preformance at all... yet they do... greatly.

actually i dont use skype, the software used to run it takes up more System useage than most voice over i/p's, plus it takes up to much bandwidth, i actually own a ventrilo server. It's small, very light weight and very friendly with all window types.
