When I join the server I get kicked back to the lobby.

so you have both? um what games do you have installed and where are they installed?, games that are arma related. Steam version is much easier to troubleshoot than retail. -

HD 6970 8-10 FPS (city) 15-20 (open field) what wrong?
=DiG= Zgraphz replied to waynebrady's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
actually i must have gotten it confused with this processor, because i have an i7 sandy bridge quad core. Btw telling people that arma is just poorly optimized, doesn't help anyone,at all. at least me making suggestions that actually help people or at least improve, which it does. is alot better then listening to you talk about how poorly the game was developed, where does that get anyone? and it makes a difference in crysis, planet side, arma 3, im sure standalone will make a difference. When files are on a drive that's faster, it can read and write the faster, thing'ss move alot faster, does that make sense? -
well, only reason im blasting SSD, is because i upgraded my computer with new case, motherboard g-card, processor and it was getting 35-45 fps 55fps out in the desert or not so crowded area. needless to say after building a computer and wanting to test it seeing only a 15 +increase in fps... pissed me the f off. so i went out and bought a ssd, my graphic's in which the game present them was so much clearer then i was using fraps and the servers fps mod, i was getting 115 in Cherno and a 140 in the woods, gear/items/texture/zombies/movement is so much smoother/clearer. Before the ssd, i couldn't use a light machine gun for S**T, now its like firing a heavy akm.

i always just assume the software from the game was just more compatible with hardware inside the card, counter-strike did that alot back the the day.(pre-steam) -
GTX680 lower fps than GTX560ti 448???
=DiG= Zgraphz replied to DazTroyer's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
haha, dayz which is a mod from arma 2 is HDD dependent, if you have a standard 500GB, 1TB that runs at 7kRPM, it wont cut it. I put my arma game on a 120gb Solid State Drive and i get 70fps in huge citys and 120 out in the field, and i have a gtx 660 ti with a quad core holding 32GB of ram, but ram isn't the key, thats for editing , it's the speed at which your harddrive transfer at, hence why SSD burns the crap out of HDD in speed but HDD kills SSD in durably and life expectancy, which is why most gamers use a HDD for a primary Hard drive thats runs operating system and the Solid State Drive to runs your games. If you have more than 16gb of ram you could always make a ramdisk that holds the entire arma 2 folder and run it all off ram which would make it run a shit load faster. but still SSD is the best way to go if you can afford 90-110$, but if not then Ramdisk is the way to go because it's free -

Multiple Errors- Dayz, Missing Maps, Remove add on Files.
=DiG= Zgraphz replied to barrows's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
oh dear god, ok its simple, open you steam and go to properties on all the arma games you have in steam. right click them and select properties then select the local file tab, after that click verify game cache. once you have done that, close steam then re open, open and play all arma 2 game at-least once through steam, so open arma 2 and run it all the way to the start up screen then log out, do the same to the other games related to arma, to ensure first time setup and been completed and all files are currently accounted for. throughout these steps there are gonna need to permissions and exspections to be set inorder to run any arma 2 game, make sure you are present to click these options, for this is the reason wny you cannot play. after this is all done with make sure you are running the same verison the server is running on if you are trying to join, if they are not matched, then it wont work, so make sure you are updated to the current patch's, then you should be good to go -

arma is harddrive dependent so i sugguest u get a SSD to run your games off of, its faster than HDD and ramdisk, though you can use ramdisk with dayz, there are many videos guides on the topic just look up dayz with ramdisk in youtube and follow their intrustions, other then that, SSD is the best way to go -
shame on the hijackers. no but really reformating is the best option, always for your personal information as well not just games

Blackscreen after several Minutes / when loading Gear/Map
=DiG= Zgraphz replied to Myjacy's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
i think your problem is your power supply, the second i saw the 530 that raised an eyebrow. Keep in mind this may always be the problem. follow this example How to change the settings for your PCI-E power out put: Open your Control Panel. Select Power Options. Select Change Plan Settings. Select Advanced Power Settings. Scroll Down to PCI Express. Select Link State Power Management. Select OFF. Click Apply Make sure, if your games are on your SSD, that all the game paths are correct. it sounds like your computer is trying to get more power, maybe upgrading to a 650 gold would give you the little extra boost you may need. personally i would get an 800w gold thermal lake power supply. other than that i think your golden. the reason your screen goes to black and the game crashes is because that's the item that's taking up the most resources that your computer has, so, it protects itself by shutting off your game and reducing the power to your screen hence the screen going black, and the power icon flickering. this can only be resolved safely by professionally installing a power supply. Please look up instructions, guides or video tutorials on how to do so in a safe and cautious manner. -

Do you have 2 copies of the game with 2 different steam id's and or GUID's? -
you can have the best processor, the best graphic card and the best internet connection and all that wont mean crap when it comes to arma 2. If you really wanna play arma2/dayz the way it was meant to be played, my sugguestion to you would be to go out and get a Solid State Drive, stick it inside your computer as a secondary drive, then install arma2/dayz to your SSD then turn on dayz with the highest settings they can allow and you'll get 100-125 fps, only diff is i have 32Gigs of ram, your processor is faster than mine, same graphic cards tho. but heres the kicker, arma/dayz is completely harddrive dependent, switch the HDD out with a SSD you'll be like ?!?! wtf! 90$ intel/amd ssd drives at staples for a 120GB. so, save your drivehard because arma2 rapes the crap out of it, eventually after trying to speed it up so much it will burn it, so get a ssd, you will not regret it. Personally i run all my games off it and its fing badass. always clear, crisp and full of graphic makes for stunning gameplay without worry of FPS loss. so if your a gamer, then you should have it. and by the type of stuff u have im sure u are so, get one! (Keep inmind DO NOT select your SSD as your Primary HardDrive for your Operating System. Keep the Operating System on your current harddrive. If you however you still choose to Put your OS on your SSD, BEWARE!!!! You CANNOT retrieve data from a Burnt SSD like you can with a HDD if the SSD were to fail at one point or another, SSD life span as a primary OS Drive is no where near the length of a HDD. You have been warned

well i do have a video guide on people who have over 4gb of ram your graphic card is better than the computer i used to play on, only thing is i had 8 on my old machine. Watch this video and see if it helps you at all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmeLuCQXn-M Also make sure you have the correct startup launch parameters setup correctly. you can find a more detailed copy from this website :http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma2:_Startup_Parameters Another thing, Windows 7 (default setting for pci-e is always limited to 50%) to change those settings. Keep in mind, This is NOT overclocking. it will not cause any harm to your computer, its merely just letting the pci-e slot have the power it was meant to handle. How to change the settings for your PCI-E power out put: Open your Control Panel. Select Power Options. Select Change Plan Settings. Select Advanced Power Settings. Scroll Down to PCI Express. Select Link State Power Management. Select OFF. Click Apply Let me know if this helps.

now when you say you deleted everything, does that mean you deleted the crap inside your registry? you say eight of the 10 box's are selected. Which of those are and aren't selected? when you play dayz it should look like this (in the Expansion Folder on main menu inside arma 2) Things that should be checked/enabled Arma/Arma2OA/ArmaBritishArmedForces/ArmaPrivatemilitaryCompany/Expansions/Beta/DayZ (Map name you are trying to play) with Version # (example DayZ Panthera 1.8). once those are set up correctly, try to clean out your registry and make sure you run all the games first to make sure everything with battle-eye and you registry are updated... seems like an issue with battle-eye or your registry may have a corrupted file in it or maybe something got deleted. If this step does not work, in the future i sugguest you buy your games through steam, they keep an updated mirror of all the games/files you own so you hardly ever have to reinstall your games. go to arma2.com and look for the most recently updated beta patch, then afterwards go to battle-eyes website and look for the most recent update then try.

open steam, select all arma 2 games u have, right click them, go to properties, then go to the local file tab, select verify game/system cache. Once you have done that. Right click arma and select play. wait till you get to the main menu, then log out, do the same to arma 2 Operation Arrowhead, then again to the DLCS if you have them. so the order it goes in is : arma/arma2OA/Arma-Private Military Company/ ArmaBritish Armed Forces. once you have verify them all then played them all to the main menu... try again -

=DiG= Zgraphz posted a topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Well im no computer wizz but when it comes to man handleing arma 2, i like to think i got it under control. But as for the public... not so much. I've been trolling the forums and every single day i see Help my FPS sucks, My dayz lags like shit, why dose my graphic suck... well lets me put it in a simple form, Arma 2 is harddrive dependent... so techicnally 75%harddrive and 25% is gpu and cpu... ew huh? yah... thats what i said so, i said why not use a ram disk because i use them at work all the time and after searching the internet for some time i found out that arma 2 and dayz have main streamed files that hold the games format in a pbo file format... WOW lucky right? well needless to say watch this video and im sure you'll understand why your dayz is so horrible but almost every other game you play isn't... have fun ladies and gents... learn and be amazed!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmeLuCQXn-M -
