  1. A2 BUNKER The bunker at A2 harbours a weapon crate; the stockpile is used by the bandit Ai which roams the islands looking for targets to kill and food to steal. They are not well equipped, although they carry some items for your continued survival. The approach to the bunker is hazardous as the bandit Ai attempt to halt your intention to loot. Not only that but the military forces are also interested in preventing any access; regular bombardment of the site is initiated off-shore, attempting to secure the contents and deny exploitation of the bunker. Dare you enter A2? Stay ALIVE!

What do you guys think of Vanilla Dayz?

DayZmod is undead. Epoch traders, map markers, lockable vehicles, indestructible builds etc, ruined the survival game by making it soft, now everyones bored. DayZmod survives on the FINALdayZ server...where survival, not shopping is king.
  3. Player PERSISTENCE At the time of writing the FINALdayZ server has seen something which is surprising. For the last 7 days there has been at least one player on the server at all times. This means that for 7 days straight the server has never been empty, even throughout the night and in fact continues at this moment. This is almost unique to this server and shows the huge commitment the player-base has for it and serves as validation of it's credentials. If you like DayZ, if you enjoy survival and if you want to challenge your skills as a survivalist then you should take a look at this server to provide a unique survival experience, tougher than most and uncompromising in it's design. There's a buzzing and active community at FINALdayZsurvivor.net which welcomes new players of any expertise or experience... Stay ALIVE!
  4. With no traders the gold is used to 'buy' (spawn) furniture for your home. Most items in the following picture can be used or have an effect somehow: The cooker hob can cook food/boil water just like a fire. The stove heats the room. The laptop shows a video feed from the cameras installed (from the mod) around the house.Water barrels act as wells. The radio plays music. The vending machine gives cans of pop for tin bars (chance of failure). The medicine cabinet grants antibiotics, painkillers at the cost/use of a bandage; no bandage grants only painkillers. The satellite phone calls airdrops (GPS, horwire kit and radio required). The military radios play the EBS (emergency broadcast system).Arial's pick up the coded military transmissions (radio required)... There's also en extensive crafting script. Some examples are included within this video (from the old Chernarus server). This is just scratching the surface of what's included, and I'd rather not spoil the ongoing discoveries...
  5. DUSK till DAWN Daylight hours enjoy the luxury of light. But it is strange to find that most players here prefer the night. It is colder too and with no moon very difficult to see much without assistance. Night vision goggles are a luxury, or rely on your flares to make a truly apocalyptic scene. The undead are out there, in the fog. You can hear them growling. Pray that you see the sunrise again... Stay ALIVE!

Food spawn rates too high as of recent?

I have a server where there is no canned food, only unlabeled cans and bio meat which will infect. There are no cans of pop either, except for the cans in the vending machines (melt tin cans to make a tin bar to buy a can(chance of failure)). My players have to rely on hunting, fishing or stealing their food from Ai or players. They haven't complained and in fact relish the idea of an exhausted food supply. They can also siphon beer from the Ai brewery, but that is heavily defended. So food is not easy to come by, but the survivors here have managed admirably.

Food spawn rates too high as of recent?

That's a great compromise. It would effectively punish players whom join late, but so be it. I think DayZ desperately needs farming; it already has foraging and hunting. Farming provides a longer term investment and also provides a patch to defend/resources to gather.
  8. VICTORIAN AGE Since the apocalypse the sophisticated communications networks have failed. The military presence have been forced to rely on Morse code to transmit information. This ancient code is decipherable and provides clues as to the locations of several military vehicles hidden within the islands. Seek out radio towers to intercept these transmissions with a radio for their valuable intel. Stay ALIVE!

Food spawn rates too high as of recent?

There should be no canned food, except unlabeled cans, which provide minimal nourishment and can cause illness. This concept has been tested and is live upon the FINALdayZ Epoch Survival server. Namalsk benefits from being an island therefore fishing is always an option too. It was a decision I took to make the experience more authentic as I firmly believe that canned food would eventually run out, but it depends how far into the future the game is set and how many survivors are scavenging. I do not like the idea of relying on our past society to support the player. I believe the point of DayZ is to challenge people to think differently about the world, their role in it and it's future. As populations explode and viruses become ever resistant to our modern medicines I can see absolute value in that.
  10. REVISION Joining the server from DayZcommander is now possible. All players can now endure the toughest survival experience in DayZ. I have since revised the servers listing on DayZcommander and have tested the ability to join from there. Provided you have @DayZ_Epoch v1.0.5.1 and @DayZ_Namalsk v0.75 (both available from DZC) you shouldn't have any problems joining the server. IP: 188.165.210.182:2302 Search: FINALdayZ Server description: FINALdayZ Epoch Namalsk (1.8.6.1/125548) Ensure you use the launch parameter: -MOD=@DayZ_Epoch;@DayZ_Namalsk; Take on the ultimate challenge; survive Nam... Stay ALIVE!
  11. HERMITS Any structure can become a home. This plane shell is the perfect location to find some respite from the harsh world outside. With a lack of traders, players are forced to source their own materials which makes grand gestures less likely. Re-cycling the fabric of the map is a much better option and one which has become popular here. Stay ALIVE!
  12. What you will find is a simulation of the future. As the weeks, months, years pass there would become a point where all local food stores dry up. There is no canned food found here except for the beans you spawn with and unlabeled cans. Seeds can be harvested and Namalsk is an island; fishing is a viable option. Hunting wildlife is also an opportunity worth taking whenever animals are sighted. The server is classed as hardcore; you'll initially find it tough just staying warm. When you get used to the idea of not relying on society's past, but by relying on local knowledge and your wits instead, you will survive longer. One day you'll realise that you've become a veteran of staying ALIVE! I have sent you a PM apsinc. I hope to chat soon...
  13. IP: 198.15.113.90:2412 I have created a batch file so players can join quickly and easily from their desktop. Goto: FINALdayZsurvivor.enjin.com where you'll find instructions on how to use it. As the server uses some of Namalsk's features; DayZcommander and/or launcher sometimes fail to load the correct files. The batch file removes this problem. For details on the server features; click on my signature.
  14. All my players prefer the night. As they play across multiple time-zones they fight to have the server time shifted so they get more night, not day. How refreshing is that?
  15. Here is a YouTube video where Dean Hall clarifies quite clearly that: "DayZ is an open world zombie infested wasteland, where there are no rules." YouTube VIDEO In response to walkers; zombies walk, they do not run. The biggest threat to survivors is not zombies, it is staying alive without the support of modern society(starvation, disease, hypothermia, injury etc). The zombies reinforce the notion that the world we knew has ended, and that we have to try and survive by our own merits. The vast majority of players/servers want gun collecting, shopping and pink tanks. They are not playing DayZ. They cater to the masses by providing a pathetically easy version of Arma II with zombies, a play-pit for pop culture. If you want an authentic experience then you should consider: Europa Vanilla DayZ.(The biggest vanilla DayZmod server in Europe). If you want a hardcore experience then you should consider: FINALdayZ Hardcore Survival Epoch.(Deepest darkest coldest nights and zombie hoards included).Don't give up on DayZ just yet. The core players are still here consistently fighting the swarm of military wannabes who've hijacked our beloved game. We are DayZ. Stay ALIVE!

What do you guys think of Vanilla Dayz?

Zombies are deadly, and so they should be. If players believe that living within cities or towns is wise, then I have some bad news for you. Towns and cities belong to the undead. We all have to start again, far from the deteriorating infrastructure of our past civilisation. Towns or cities would be saturated with decay, disease, pests and the undead and would not serve as a viable haven for the living. We have to try to rely on ourselves to survive, not on the past. Vanilla imposes this point by making these areas dangerous, but the message becomes confused as players attempt to come to terms with how devastating an apocalypse would be. Stay out of town, scavenge the land, avoid injury and the undead. Deviating from this only serves to increase the risk of death or disease, as it should. Those who'd survive would be farmers, engineers and Bear Grylls. Zombies provide a message which is hard to ignor. But due to their deadly nature they've been mistaken as a challenge to overcome, to somehow wrestle civilisation back from the dead, to retake the world. This is the exact opposite of their intention. Think differently about the world and how it works and you'll stand a much better chance of surviving. That is DayZ.
  17. I'd be interested to know; the definition varies vastly across players. My definition: No map markers/waypoints.No traders.Tough Ai.PvP+PvE.No full moon nights. No canned food.Deadly Zombies.Rarer/limited loot.Extreme weather.Boil drinking water.First Person Limit. What would your definition be?

What would YOU class as HARDCORE?

FINALdayZ is exactly that. The list at the top represent what you will find here and I challenge any player to find surviving this Namalsk an easy prospect. The fact is that the weather alone will kill you before you starve, dehydrate, die of infection, get shot by elite Ai or drown in the frozen seas surrounding the isle. A consequence of the hardcore nature is that PvP is less prevalent as simply staying alive requires much determination, but it is not outlawed. Unlike other servers, there are no rules, as this is the point of DayZ.
  19. Northern EXPOSURE Although many players prefer to settle in the north, the simple reason being: you tend not to get shot at every morning; the southern isles of Namalsk feature some truly breathtaking views from the range of mountains found there. Their majesty draws you in encouraging players to explore this frozen tomb, welcoming fresh blood to be spilled upon it's perfect white slopes. The hazards within are not limited to zombies; a highly trained elite military force controls specific areas for their own agenda, their well equipped troops a lure for the best and most dangerous players of DayZ. Take only what you're prepared to lose; return with what you hope to gain. Become a vet', survive Nam'.
  20. A CHANCE of Survival Surviving Namalsk is not an easy prospect. But there's an extensive crafting system in place to assist players see more than a day. A water barrel to rinse bottles and a bin to rummage through for trash can be found at the spawn points to help prepare for the harsh conditions. A knife and water bottle can be crafted from such items. The hero spawn has a couple of tents for those that want to assist other survivors as well as themselves. A compass can be crafted from your watch. Although it breaks the watch it doesn't appear too important to know what time it is anymore... Stay ALIVE!
  21. Zombies now RUN! I would seriously advice caution and equip zombie camo at the earliest opportunity. This has been reverted; the experience is far too hard with zombies running amok, and it overpowers the experience of survival; amending the cautious considered experience to one of running, forever. Whether this server can claim to be DayZ is a question regarding your experience. If simply staying alive is enough despite zero support of modern technology, despite every person dementedly trying to eat you, despite the armed lawlessness, despite the dilapidation, the lack of food, clothes, medicines, transport or society itself; then this is what you'll find here. In Nam' Zombies are secondary to the immediate threat of hypothermia which will kill you in around 40 minutes. Zombie encounters can be easily avoided, even in cities so long as you remain alert and keep moving; their high spawn rate tends to amass hoards, silently roaming to your location; so relocating often is key to remaining alive. Repawns are granted a lit fire and a box of antibiotics to stave of hypothermia, but crafting/looting drugs is not quite so simple as the locations and/or ingredients are in the south, which is hostile territory; the border signs hoping to inform unwary survivors. So simply staying alive is immediately a problem. But as DayZ players should know: it is the knowledge of how to survive which is your most powerful asset, and here you'll find no better test of that. Survive your first day, and you'll probably survive another...
  22. Apart from providing a truly difficult environment for survival, Namalsk really is a beautiful, yet deadly place to call home. The survivors here can call themselves true survivalists and should feel proud that they exist here at all. It's testament to their determination that they call this desolate frozen isle home. But then again it really is a postcard... ...from hell.

What would YOU class as HARDCORE?

I would state that rules upon a server go against the very nature of DayZ. To simulate a post apocalyptic scenario there must be no rules, even if the administrator considers the server not to be hardcore. With rules in place it is not DayZ. The core of DayZ is that it encourages players make decisions based entirely on their own morality. I do not appreciate humanity mechanic as each persons moral standing is not that black and white or indeed permanent. A players own social position on the server is enough to warrant particular behaviours from players based on their own conduct without resorting to game mechanics to enforce such standings.

What would YOU class as HARDCORE?

An interesting point. Thanks very much for taking the time to contribute. Players such as yourself are rare these days, or in a minority at least. Your server has that post apocalyptic feel which is sorely missing from the majority of servers, but in response I'd state that Epoch is a tool, and used correctly it can produce a server which is truly difficult, yet rewarding. Keep up the excellent work, never give in to sheep. It really depends on how the server is produced. To make a hardcore server one needs conviction, restraint and integrity. Without traders, with scarcer loot, a weight limit and with extreme conditions players are forced to consider what they are capable of whilst building a base home. What has transpired on FINALdayZ is a series of installations which recycle the dilapidated infrastructure found within the landscape; players are not starting from scratch but restoring established buildings to shortcut their plans. I prefer the aesthetics anyway, and I'm impressed by players who consider the actual reality of how it would transpire should an apocalypse happen. I cannot condone cavernous bases, as impressive they may be maintaining and heating such a structure would be almost impossible. This is DayZ, not Minecraft.

    A Simple server

I can confirm that this community is growing, fast. We have seen an increase in population of 900% in the last fortnight. If you or any players are looking for an authentic, no compromise HARDCORE SURVIVAL experience then head to IP: 198.15.113.90:2412. Circumvent the requirement to use a graphical interface when launching your game and use our batch file. No more DZCommander or DZLauncher. The Day/night cycle is now a 24 hour clock, as in real life. Good luck staying alive in the freezing darkness...
