HARDCORE | FINALdayZ | Epoch Survival | The TOUGHEST Server in DayZ
Cartoonrboy replied to Cartoonrboy's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
The STONE age At the end of the first day, everything seems great. I have food, water, an AK, a working vehicle and I also discovered a dilapidated castle upon a lake. It's not the most comfortable home I've sought refuge within, but it's dry, secluded and it certainly qualifies as one of the prettiest. I'm at rest with positive thoughts of tomorrow, which I find disturbing... Stay ALIVE! -

Just as you said that I nerfed to loot tables. Remember your training: gather trash and craft your gear; everything is useful. Good luck. -

Nothing to DECLARE Arriving in Chernarus we found our holiday as not so simple. It was still cold as sunrise was yet upon us, but it was still warmer than we'd become accustomed to. As we welcomed the warm dawn we anticipate the same issues: zombies, disease, bandits, starvation. But at least we no longer have to consider hypothermia... Stay ALIVE! -

RED-EYE to CHERNAURS In less than 1 hour, the flight to Chernarus will take off. Those who wish to join the flight have been asked to report to the terminal before 00:00. The flight will take around 2 hours. Players that make the flight are able to bring any gear for their break in the sun. Warm clothes will not be needed, but I hear there are even more dangers lurking on the mainland. Stay ALIVE! -

During our 14 day holiday to Chernarus, starting at midnight this Monday morning, the Namalsk PBO will be rebuilt to make it more efficient and streamlined. There are several tweaks to game-play planned which will push the server further into hardcore classification. I'm sure you'll appreciate the result. Your suggestions aren't far off the mark... -

HELL frozen OVER Namalsk rarely provides comfort. In some case it swings between extremes of searing heat and debilitating cold. This explosion was the result of a well placed IED which caused a chain reaction, destroying further vehicles and equipment within proximity. It's a great loss, but worth it for the spectacle. Proof of CONCEPT - No Traders
Cartoonrboy replied to Cartoonrboy's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Nope. All materials were scavenged by Quasid. He may have traded a few items from other players, but they too were scavenged as there a no traders on the server, like it should be. -
You're playing on the wrong server... There are servers out there offering hardcore survival because we have faith in DayZ and go to great lengths to advertise, posting in relevant topics, pressing the point of survival, not PvP and yet the player-base remains small, but committed. Musty Gaming monitor this forum with an absolute attitude, and while I appreciate their position, it remains frustratingly difficult to effectively reach the right players among the maelstrom of bambi servers. Those who love DayZ for it's core values are ignored despite unswerving loyalty to play this game correctly. Despite this there'll be a survival server available for as long as possible. But the position should not be taken for granted, nor can it be indefinite.

Hey dayzgame - thanks for the input. Building restrictions are there to stop players building in areas which are for the benefit of every player. I feel this is better than making rules for everyone to remember. The restrictions were tightened up a few weeks ago but if there's any specific areas which you have issues with then just let me know and I'll see what I can do. I'm real glad you are still playing on this server after all, it's nothing without you. Cheers bro... -

DEATH from INACTION Sitting on a hillside far from the un-dead or bandits, death still becomes me through hypothermia. You must take action if you're to survive here. This took less than an hour and is proof that this server deserves a hardcore classification and will challenge even the best players in DayZ. Test yourself for the right to survive in this decaying world against zombies, bandits, infection, starvation, dehydration, hypothermia and of course each other. Stay ALIVE! -
DayZsa may try and cater for the masses but that is a dangerous premise. Adding stuff is exactly the problem with 99% of DayZmod servers and the vast majority no longer feel like DayZ, more like ArmaII with zombies. There are servers out there which still run vanilla, and I have one which runs DayZmod with the core DayZ values of survival intact (rare loot, craft meds, no traders, no markers, no tanks, no pink, 1st person combat, cold/dark nights, bad food spawns, extreme weather). My community and I will keep DayZmod alive as long as I have cash in my pocket, and the Devs are not giving up on this fantastic game. I only hope that more players/admins realise what integrity means and desist the attrition of DayZmod.

H1Z1 is a pale comparison to DayZ. It's blatantly a duplicate of this fantastic apocalypse simulation and will not outlast DayZ. Everything about it feels so contrived and graphically it cannot touch the Arma II engine, which is almost six years old; an age in videogames. There's a hardcore community which will keep DayZ alive because it's the closest you'll get to a zombie apocalypse you can live in. If you feel DayZmod is dead then I can assure you that you will not be missed.

Hey there survivor. If you want to jump in at the deep end then please have a look at my server: FINALdayZ. It's based on Namalsk and provides the toughest survival experience in DayZ. I have a group of dedicated veteran survivors who'd be more than willing to show you round and get you settled. For further details and/or for an active community visit the forum. I've added you to Skype: Cartoonrboy. Steam: CartoonBOY. I hope to see you soon... Stay ALIVE! -

Natural REMEDY There are very few medicines on Namalsk. It's usual to head for the local hospital, but after so much time the health centre is no longer viable for several reasons. It's wiser to seek natural remedies for all your medicinal needs. It's well documented that Cannabis can numb pain; this plantation can provide all the supplies you may need, not to mention the pleasing side effects. You'll just need to find it first... PRIMARY mission Seraja army base can be seen from almost anywhere on Namalsk. Its spire reaches 100m or more and broadcasts a repeating message for the militant. Intercepting the message is not easy as there are bandits within the grounds, guarding what rare loot may be there. Occasionally the elite military presence uses the location to fill vehicles and sort supplies and getting through them is a veteran task. What you'll discover there is entirely worth the effort... HOLIDAY in the SUN The frozen wastes of Namalsk are being left behind for a little while in favour of a trip to the mainland. We have some idea on what to expect when we arrive, but in vaster numbers. We will be departing for Chernarus on 22nd February. We will stay for, as yet an unknown amount of time but we hope to find more than we bargained for. If you like hardcore, or you can build, and if you enjoy actually having to play the game then come and visit our Chernarus from 22nd february. Stay ALIVE! -
Vanilla Hardcore full moon nights

Greetings. It's great to see another hardcore server for this amazing game. I would like to invite you to comment on this thread. It's a discussion centered around what should be classified as a hardcore server. Your opinion would be very welcome. Keep up the good work, and best of luck with the server... -

SUNSET on Nam... try to stay ALIVE! -
I took inspiration from this post and developed my own mod for my hardcore DayZ survival server: FINALdayZ. There are several radio towers broadcasting morse code messages accross the isle of Namalsk which provide clues as to the whereabouts of some high value items which are either only present for a set period of time or which are hard to find. The mod has been very well received therefore I'd like to thank you for the post.

influx of SA players to the mod
Cartoonrboy replied to georgiapeach's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I campaign for the love of DayZ, about the ability for DayZmod to provide a harsh survival game by using restraint. The flexibility DayZmod provides means that it can do survival very well indeed, but unfortunately many server admins like the colour pink and/or tanks and shopping (reminds me of a certain gender demographic). Over time this has disillusioned the very people DayZmod was created for and has driven a lot of players away to either DayZsa or other games. I cannot express enough my contempt for the majority who have destroyed the DayZmod player-base by adding uber starting gear, tanks, traders etc. If you want to mindlessly shoot things, there is an entire industry of games catering for exactly that. What's galling is reading threads on this forum asking whether DayZ is a survival game? To me that is the single most stupid question put forward and wreaks of a total misunderstanding of the games intention and yet which validates my opinion that the majority do not realise that DayZmod can actually become a very difficult survival game. I have seen players die on my server within 40 minutes, not from zombies or shots, but from hypothermia and/or infection. Starvation is the next biggest killer, then we worry about the undead. DaZmod is dead in it's common form. But there is a core of dedicated players who adore DayZ survival who keep the mod alive. They deserve to be counted. -

EMP When the nuclear strikes the EMP blast ruins the electronics of any airbourne vehicle. This jet crash is a direct result of the event which takes place at a random time. The crash site harbours valuable items to secure, but it is visible for miles around which can only mean that other survivors may also be interested in securing it's potential riches. Crash sites are much easier to find at night due to their luminosity and provide respite from the long dark nights on Nam... Stay ALIVE! -

NAMALSK VETERANS A tentative meet was arranged for a photo shoot. Some survivors thought it was a trap, but after some reassurance they showed to get shot, sort of. Although friendly within the confines of Alakit the players here take on their own rules after they disappear into the darkness. I have never met a more hardy bunch of survivalists and they deserve commendations for their continued commitment to a server which grants very little comfort. Thanks guys; you're legendary. Stay ALIVE! -
What do you guys think of Vanilla Dayz?
Cartoonrboy replied to victusmortuus's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yeah, that would be grand. Erm...not dying, I mean giving us a go. The FINALdayZ community is truly hardcore. The server has been populated day and night constantly for the last 2 weeks! That's how committed the players are here. If you like survival, and you believe DayZ should be difficult then I'm sure you'll find a lot to like. I'd recommend joining the forum. There is a change of host about to go through. Check the FINALdayZsurvivor forum for new connection details. Best of luck with your survival... -

LOST! With no map waypoints it's all too easy to become disorientated whilst driving at night. Despite the lack of scale compared to Chernarus, Namalsk can confuse players causing them to become lost very easily. Orienteering is very important here as is having a compass. Knowing the direction you're headed is a massive boost to your survival chances. Your watch can be broken into a compass and this is one of the first things to do, once a knife has been crafted from a razor and other items. Getting lost on Namalsk is not good. Getting lost at night, in the freezing fog, with no food and the undead knocking at the door is deadly. Stay ALIVE!
