  1. Without traders it's logical to assume that base building would be almost impossible and/or time consuming. After 2 weeks; behold a totally sourced base by Quasid, a true survivalist and master woodsman: All materials here were salvaged or found upon the map by a single player. One simply has to play the game to achieve great things.

Proof of CONCEPT - No Traders

You are free to enter the trader; there's a communal area with heating, lighting, water, a cooker, a rep centre, heli-pad and satellite phone. I usually use it to demo the features on the server... All work was undertaken by master-woodsman Quasid.

    FinalDayZ- Kilroys Journal

Ooh - very cool. I'm rooting for ya...and I'm afraid the south will become more hostile very soon. But it too will have it's rewards for those willing to risk it all. I'm sure I need not worry about you as you're a born survivor. Do you have a link to your ArmA novel? (Link moved to front page)

    FinalDayZ- Kilroys Journal

Another dark tale of life post apocalypse, where eating bacon is an event! Keep 'em coming Owen, great stuff...
  5. I have a mod I wrote which plays Ride of the Valkyries from my UH-1Y. It sounds very strange due to the doppler effect, even more scary I'd say...
  6. The best thing about DayZ is the stories it creates through unscripted, emergent game-play. Awesome post Owen. AFTERSHOCK Nuclear explosions cause tremors which can be felt throughout the isles of Namalsk. The ageing exposed buildings, having been beaten by storms and panic, may succumb to the convulsions of the earth, transformed into yet another hazard among the bleak ruins of civilisation. Some of the structures may be vital to local transit, or serve as a way-point for weary survivors. What is true is that even the very ground you walk upon is out to get you. Stay ALIVE!
  7. My name is ARTyom. I am the administrator/owner of the FINALdayZsurvivor community and representative of our members. I am here to invite the most hardy, resourceful and hardcore players to experience Epoch like no other. If you you know Epoch as a highly militarised version of DayZ and have not been interested before then please continue to read as you may be, on this occasion. We prefer survival. Our server is a highly modified version of Namalsk; where high grade loot is rare, no traders are present, no map markers assist locating Ai and crafting trash items provides basic kit/meds; backpacks, crossbows, clothing and antibiotics etc. 100% craft, like it should be. Think of it as DayZ with building, not Arma II with zombies. If you like survival, if you like hardcore, then get in touch by expressing your interest. You will not be disappointed, and you might just find the right home for you and/or your fellow survivalists. For features/details of the server please visit the server advertisement, or visit the forum for the community. Российские игроки особенно приветствуются. Stay ALIVE!
  8. My name is ARTyom. I am a survivor living in Namalsk. I am broadcasting on all AM frequencies. I will be on IP:5.135.138.65:2342 from 21:00GMT, before the temperature reaches -20. If you are out there...if anyone is out there...I can provide food, I can provide shelter, I can provide medicines. If there's anybody out there...anybody...please. You are not alone.

Looking for a buddy or 2

Hey there. I wanted to offer myself as your fellow survivor in the wild-lands of DayZ. I have a survival server (click my signature) which offers an authentic DayZ survival experience. If you appreciate how hard DayZ is supposed to be then please give us a look, you will not be disappointed. I am 39 years old.
  10. Nuclear WINTER Namalsk is not an easy place to live. It is cold, desolate and crawling with the un-dead and hostile bandits. Worse then all of these is the military whose presence on Namalsk is yet unclear. What is known is that they are well equipped, and have a tenancy to use their arsenal. For reasons unknown they are initiating a regular nuclear strike upon A1. What is their reasoning behind this activity? Is there something there which requires regular suppression? Stay ALIVE!
  11. GRAVE Encounters Hidden within this old church is entombed a secret worth dying for. But there's no telling whether your activity there could wake the dead. There are many secrets to Namalsk, lurking across the desolate landscape, some of which may help or hinder you. But rest assured that nothing here is gained without risk... Stay ALIVE!

    Will DayZ Survive?

It's only dead to you if you think it so...I will never think that. Come and meet me and keep us alive.

    Will DayZ Survive?

DayZ commander should be shot. Many admins have resorted to batch files but that defeats the intention of DayZcommander. There are still loads of servers full of players and still some which are true to DayZ values (see my signature). Don't give up on us yet.
  14. CABIN in the WOODS Recycling existing buildings is the quickest and easiest route to settling in Namalsk. But occasionally there'll be a master woodsman who can build fantastic structures from the very fabric of nature. This cosy home provides many of the comforts of a post apocalyptic society and benefits from being buried within the wild landscape of the island, away from the curious. The perfect setting for some secure relaxation after a long day surviving. Stay ALIVE!
  15. Mans BEST friend There are kennels on this collection of frozen isles which house trained dogs. They have quickly become the best option for hunting the rare animals which creep around the forests of Namalsk. Hunting costs calories therefore any shortcut to obtaining a healthy supply should be a priority as there are no canned food stocks left at all, only what you bring with you. So listen out for the barking and seek out a companion, if only to help protect yourself and keep your moral boosted. Stay ALIVE!
  16. KIPPER isle There are many places to explore on Namalsk, more than many realise. This isle off the south coast features a convenient fishing pier and a dilapidated farm building fit for renovation. The route to this idyllic setting is fraught with danger. Bandits, infection, zombies and the weather all try to halt progress to the island but once the journey is made it may become some-ones cherished home, and there are many more across the islands. Exploration of the quarantine zone is not a foolish endeavor. Stay ALIVE!
  17. RAZED return We leave Chernarus on fire. The constant bombardment of the cities to keep them clean was an unsavory discovery and served to encourage thoughts of home. The MV22 took off from NEAF without a hitch and passing over the wrecked coastal cities it was clear that the military forces there were not welcome to our presence. So we are back in Namalsk and I never thought I'd miss this frozen hell-hole, but it is our home and we understand it well. We continue the fight for our survival. Stay ALIVE!
  18. Thanks con635, I'm glad you like it. It was compiled for true DayZ survivalists which are a rare breed these dayz. Get me on Skype: CartoonrBOY or Steam: CartoonBOY. My in-game name is ARTyom. I am on daily from 21:00GMT. Maybe we can meet up so I can show you where not to go - lol. You should also join our hardcore community forum. Solidarity survivor...stay ALIVE!
  19. HANG out Some cannot take the harsh nature of the FINALdayZ server. With no help at all it is very tough to get by, never-mind thrive. When it all gets too much there's only one thing left to do. Hardcore is not for everyone. But if you think you know DayZ, if you rate yourself as a veteran and you haven't been here yet then you really are missing out on the ultimate test of skill, guile and experience. Stay ALIVE!
  20. Sounds exactly how I envisioned it. I'm glad you liked it after all, it's an apocalypse. I hope you found the other survivors and that they were friendly. We're all eager to work together to survive, we do not KOS; there's plenty of others to shoot at. If you add me to skype: CartoonrBOY or Steam: CartoonBOY I'd love to meet up and give you a tour, if you want. And if you join the forum I can keep you up to date with changes/additions and you can meet like minded survivors. Solidarity bro... Good luck with Staying ALIVE! You can post screenshots on our forum. We'd all love to see what you saw...
  21. Radiation will kill a player in around 5 minutes and will cause radiation sickness which behaves like infection. Antibiotics will cure it, if you're lucky enough to have some or have the right items to craft some. Armoured vehicles can provide some protection but the moment you're exposed, you will again succumb to the effects...
  22. Apocalypse NOW The nuclear powerplant in Cherno has been running without maintenance. A meltdown was inevitable and devastating. The undead continue exploring the twisted smoldering landscape, immune to the hazardous radiation. There's no longer anything of value in this razed city, or is that an assumption? Stay ALIVE!
  23. I love DayZmod as it can become the most brutal yet rewarding game experience available. For example: Running the length of the map to find a vehicle only to discover I still need a wheel. Remembering to check my status so I don't freeze, starve or die of infection. Being owned by zombies, I laugh every-time. Building a home, not a base. Finally finding a great weapon, or crafting a crossbow to stick arrows in zed heads (very entertaining). Welcoming the sunrise or fearing the sunset. Crashing into a rock and having to abandon my precious mode of transport. Fixing a helicopter. Salvaging everything for better use. Meeting like minded survivors and talking around a campfire about our experiences. Complacent that we are not being watched...perhaps. Completing Devils Castle. Dying at Zone Alpha. Relying on my knowledge to survive another day. Thank you for an awesome game. I love it so...

    Will DayZ Survive?

DayZmod is not dead. If something is dead is does not have a player-base, it does not have people posting on forums and it does not provoke responses to statements such as that. My server has a committed group of DayZ veterans who play for hours daily. We do not KOS, we welcome new players of all skills. Servers like ours are out there, just check the listings and take note of those specifying their style of play. DayZ has evolved so much. The variations available are incredible. There are survival, PvP, PvE and/or both in the listings. Either that or play on a vanilla server. But the choice available is still very varied, which is why it's important to check the server description and/or the read the advertisements. We post because we love DayZ. If it were dead then so would be the forum. DayZ is nothing without it's players. So play the game and let DayZ continue to provide what is still the best survival game experience available.
  25. DAWN of the unDEAD With increased damage, range, numbers and resistance the zombies in this Chernarus are not pests, but a foe to be feared. Night brings little solace as they appear to be able to see better without the glare of sunlight, which does not bode well for survivors without night vision... Stay ALIVE!
