Wait, what game did I pay for 6+ years ago? 🤔

Remember when people said, "television is rotting people's brains", back in the day? If television is rot, social media is cancer. There's your answer.

You've add little constructive feedback ever and are just looking for people to dry your tears because Bohemia took their football and went home. Your sour attitude and penchant for personal derision is duly noted as the sad ravings of a pickled malcontent. Some of us earned a right to complain a little more, but somehow are still more pragmatic with our feelings.... Mmm superiority is like a warm cardigan, so soft and relaxing!

Nah, fuck that. 2 years, 800 hours? Cry me a river. People are lazy and spoiled. Many people never use the search function here or Google their questions. They treat the forum like an instant message chat room and want to be handed everything. They think the one bug they hate most is most important to the game and must be fixed NOW. There's 5+ years of standalone information for anybody who wants it. And most major bugs...? Posted and well documented. If you REALLY cared you would be on top of things like this, right? So many "fair weather" fans. You all look like Johnny come latelys to me. Didn't test those legacy experimental builds? Well then, you didn't pitch in now, did you? Maybe we'd have less bugs if we'd had more dedicated testers? I'm sore about how this last year went with development but I'm also not going to be unreasonable about a game I have gotten more out of dollar per hour of play than any other game.

Recorded transcript of BI DayZ dev team 1.0 pre-release meeting leaked...
☣BioHaze☣ replied to eno's topic in General Discussion
I said 5 year mark in that post regarding development. I've been on here over 6 years but more than a year of that was during the mod. The quote, "Those of us who have been here for 6+ years", included my time here during the mod, and made no reference to the SA development time. -
Reported as antagonistic. Good luck.

Recorded transcript of BI DayZ dev team 1.0 pre-release meeting leaked...

I know it might seem irrelevant to some people but it's 5 years, not 6. And boy, that's gotta be nice, venting all that nerd rage. Happy holidays. Maybe when it's all fixed, we'll look back at this dark period and be able to laugh it off a little.... Maybe. -
This review was terrible. I got to the part where he talks about hero skin from the mod like it was part of the SA and then had to stop. Most people writing about dayz from the major outlets seem to have little real experience with the game. They've insisted there is no board or share holders who influence their decisions. We all knew they would encounter fresh game breaking bugs. Historically, every time they announce a prospective milestone, this has always happened.

There was a list of content slated as post 1.0 and after some searching the forum I'm sorry to say I cannot find the official breakdown. I can say that many of the things you may be thinking are gone are actually slated for post 1.0 release. Things that are DEFINITELY not going to be in the game that I do know for sure are, companion animals (no dogs or horses), and advanced medical (no surgery/bullet extraction). Anything else you specifically want to know about, you can ask me and I'll try to answer. There are many bugs left in DayZ, some worse than others. You can read all about magazine bugs if you take some time to read other topics addressing it (try the search function). Only the Ada (the 4x4 hatchback). More 4 wheeled vehicles will be implemented and eventually we should have 2 wheeled vehicles and aircraft.

My (somewhat belated) 1.0 release celebratory meal. Czech potato pancakes, dumplings, and goulash. (Also some bratwurst and pierogies were ordered.) šťastné svátky!

No. Sewing kits do not seem to work for wounds anymore. I tried one recently and it never stopped the bleeding.

https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2018/12/19/dayz-review/ ^He lost me when he started talking about bandit skins that were in the mod like they were part of the SA. Also, among himself and the multiple people he played with, none of them knew to craft torches. This is what is featured at the top of "news" in Steam for DayZ. @ImpulZ While in some respects it's a fair review, it's certainly not an educated one. I'm not sure I've ever read a review from a major outlet where the writer sounded like he actually played the SA enough to write about it properly.

1.0 ? Dont expect anything until coders say so...
☣BioHaze☣ replied to marcheur's topic in New Player Discussion
@colinm9991 Nice join date.... @Jacques d'Orleans Calling someone a "fanboi" (and only your second post...)? Not warranted. I've been called a fanboi countless times, and it's always by people who haven't read enough of what I've written to judge. Read below for another fanbois opinion. Anywho, 1.0 was an obvious cash grab. Fortnite peaked, holiday season, 5 year mark, cash grab. Tons of food, guns, and ammo. Little environmental impacts, or biohazards in effect. Increased stamina. Basically PvP builds for the free weekend/release. I keep going around saying I think Enfusion is broken. I suspect the 7 month drought without patches we experienced was due to having to rework code in the engine that interns (or someone) fucked up. I think Enfusion is broken from the planning stages to right now. (***This is a theory based on my completely unfounded suspicions and should not be considered fact in any way.) Vaulting, throwing, infected AI, and persistence, should have been in the highest priority. I asked why vaulting and throwing were not prioritized, was told by @ImpulZ that he would look into that, and never was given an answer. I was even surprised my question was addressed at all. I had posed like 20 questions in the same thread that did not garner a response. Those of us who have been here for 6+ years more or less expect piece meal social engagement and lack of transparency from the devs. They want to present the guise of a small indie company but rarely seem to act the part IMO. Granted they were early access pioneers of a sort but successive small companies have launched many projects that included the player base in the process more intimately since. So I'm still where I was a year ago, waiting. Except this time the forum is overrun by Xboners and fair weather participants, mostly sort of flailing about. All sound and fury, signifying nothing. -
Gorka, Berezino, Kamyshovo, Stary Sobor, Novy Sobor... and any place with military loot. I pretty much run into people almost everywhere but spawn points are an obvious one as well. Spawned in to the fishing village near Rify on a low pop server and someone was already there....

Anemia confirmed.

We will not have bikes for a long long time still. And as far as I know, nothing even resembling a "mountain bike" will ever be implemented either. https://trello.com/c/Mz8oMtg2 ^This is the only bike we should expect.

Everybody has a pet feature or bug they want in game or fixed. Bohemia has their own priorities for what gets worked on and when. Common sense should have been renamed uncommon sense a long time ago.

17k+ players on Monday after end of free weekend. I think that's pretty good all things considered. The average for this time on a weekday was often no more than 5k. I see some Steam DB activity today as well, also a good sign.

They always said all DLC is free forever with each single purchase of the game. So our PC's needn't fear firearms, for now.

Someone had said that this official stable build seems like a PvP build and after a little thought, I totally agree. Tons of food, weapons, and ammo, everywhere. Very little adverse effects from the environment and biological hazards, increased stamina. Totally borked infected. No persistence. No tanning of hides. I'm sure all of the new people coming over from fortnight and the military fetish players are happy. The rest of us are feeling... Unfulfilled.

Broke down and played maybe 5 hours this evening. Performance was initially quite good but encountered intermittent freezing/fps drops after about 4+ hours. Restarting computer did not fully solve the problem. May be related to number of players in vicinity and AI/spawn triggers. Played on a high ping official 1PP server as all other 1PP servers were full (please open more). Though it was low pop, I immediately spawned in near another player. I tracked him for a few minutes and then left the area. Then I found someones camp, and immediately was loaded up with food. I met IMT, and we tracked another player for 10-15 minutes, deciding not to talk or shoot. IMT logged out a little after night fall and after meeting starvingart he and I caught up to emuthreat and baroness. It was after this point that my performance started hitching pretty badly. Got to help out with the shotgun, taking down a pack of wolves right before logging out, so that was fun. No screenshots tonight as the optimization settings would not allow steam screens with F12. It's a decent patch but I still feel there is so much missing and so much that needs to be fixed before this is a respectable product.

This guide improved my frame rate and general performance quality. Thanks again!

I like building camps (different from bases) with my friends. It's not about safety or re-gearing at all, it's about having far reaching goals for me. Building something over the course of weeks gives you something to defend and maintain as a group. Even if that's just a vehicle. I maintained vehicles and small camps totally solo in the mod and that required a lot of dedication and hours of searching. These Thunderdome style structures do not appeal to me and seem nearly impossible to implement properly. But smaller more discrete tent camps and stashes spread around does appeal to me, and is straight forward in how the game handles them.
