Vanilla will never be about "getting geared quickly". You'll probably want to play the insta-kit with SAW choose your spawn point humvee with friends mod when they release it.

Many thousands have left because they could not. My enjoyment isn't a priority for devs (see also the months with 0 zombies), testing is. See how that works? Alpha, right? I'm one of the only people who have bothered to try to offer some help to those who ask good questions or have legitimate complaints voiced well. But the entitlement and ignorance is too strong. In that regard, you certainly win. The new guys think they have to act like keyboard warriors rather than maybe embracing the notion that they have a lot to learn. I get that too. Wait until they have to roll back a build or a feature doesn't work properly and watch the flood of whining posts. Just look at the tone of the hit registration posts. Uncalled for and doesn't solve anything or get your point across well. Just look at the "my gear is gone" threads. How did you not know your gear was going to get wiped? You read the sticky thread re: experimental builds, right?

That's you, saying that I declared "PC master race", which I did not. You didn't point to where I put words in your mouth, so I don't know exactly what you're trying to reference. No, I said they are filling the forums with garbage repeat threads that add nothing like, MOAR CONTENT, WHERE UPDAT, WHY I STAAARVE? The constructive threads have been fine and supported, otherwise the XBox folk are just flailing to understand what it is they bought, and haven't the patience to search or read. That's silly, isn't it? Why would you not search the web for the most information on a game you apparently like so much? If you did, you would invariably find this forum.

Totally understandable! But it's actually happening now. If it weren't for some serious game breaking bugs that are taking a very long time to fix, I believe we would have seen quite a bit more content and features in the last month. If I'm not mistaken, the latest status report said that the next stress tests should have vehicles.

Please quote me where I said PC rules XBox drools? You can't. The XBox crowd (for the most part) is asking for everything handed to them on a plate. I will say the OP or new players are acting like they need everything handed to them on a plate when they are, and right now, that's mostly XBox players. It makes no difference to me what platform you play on, I've said the same exact thing to PC players. I was mostly a console player from Atari 2600 to Wii. I built a gaming rig for the first times only about 10 years ago. A lazy post, ignoring the search function, or ignoring status report info, will be treated as such regardless. I've made a thread with all the basics links to get new players up to speed. I also offered to answer questions there but the XBox players want to live in a vacuum apart from the PC crowd when we are intrinsically tied at the hip.

What are you talking about??? There is 5 years of evidence for how the standalone has been built. Ridiculous. Countless PC players have said ALL of the exact same things you are saying an they simply just give up. It doesn't matter to me one iota that these are XBox players. I would regard ignorance on the same level from PC players. "Not going to put up with it"? Didn't you say you were getting your money back and leaving?? Utterly laughable. Absolutely not. I am doing my best to spread clear accurate information and I'm not going to hand out coca with marshmallows when I do so. If you wanted "happy" you should have waited for 1.0. Experimental (also see XBox preview versions), is aka unstable builds for a very good reason. How I believe the industry and consumer market "should" work has nothing to do with how Bohemia handles their Alpha. I've merely followed them down the path they chose but I do not support many of their decisions. I have made some very pointed posts criticizing their choices very little of which is in line with my " false sense of knowledge on how the game industry and consumer marketplace should work". Your reading comprehension is severely lacking. "Unique to XBox?", "Elite breed"? I neither said nor alluded to either of these in any way. How about 6 years experience playing and testing DayZ? Does that not add weight to my perspective? Repeat threads should not be encouraged, period. This is ALPHA (read also Sparta). Nothing about ALPHA should ever be expected to be stable or near completion. Quality of life was used in this context as a general term about bugs or enjoyment of the current state of the game. Your enjoyment is not the main priority. The features being implemented and the modules being merged in take priority over guns and bikes (which you may consider more fun/more important). You keep talking like you know how things will go for the future of this project based on your limited scope and experience. Believe me, you have a lot more to learn about everything DayZ than you think you do. Anyway, didn't you quit because your stalker made you sad? "I'm done with this game. Apparently XBox players need everything handed to them. It's far too much trouble to use the search function. Did you know DayZ has existed in one form or another for 6+ years? Yeah, and guess what? Server hopping was a thing back then too!! Also, reddit sucks.

Here's the problem. What you think is a priority, is NOT what needs to be done next to progress development properly. There is no QoL in an ALPHA, only testing. Your "fun" is not even secondary. A client that runs and gives the devs the data they need is most necessary. If there isn't enough to keep you in the game, come back when you READ that an update with the content you desire has been released. After 5 years do you think these are new suggestions? Why is it so difficult for most of you to read the status reports or read about DayZ dev history?

You like DayZ? You want to spend hours playing it, huh? You do know that the ALPHA has been around for 5 years now? Did that not clue you into the fact that you might want to read about WHY it has been ALPHA for so long?? Can you be troubled to read about it for a few minutes? It's amazing that most of you seem to have paid money for something you absolutely didn't research or have any real understanding of. Do you have any idea how long people have waited for the features you listed? We're not getting bikes until after 1.0. ^Did you know that? Did you read the latest fucking status report? It mentions that work is happening on vehicles now. Did you know they scaled back the loot variety to keep data logs easier to manage? You would if you actually followed development. I wish you had the objectivity to appreciate what some of you sound like after I've been testing this ALPHA for 5 years. Don't like the current state of the game? Go play something else and come back when you read that a stable client was released with the features you want.

This is great, man. Would you please copy pasta this to the status report, or maybe make a thread in the suggestion section? They have never said anything about Molotovs and it's very sad. This is why I assume they will let modders do this. I want them most for crowd control. If we get hordes, we need sawed-off shotguns, grenades, and Molotovs, please.

I've been asking for this for years, literally. I think we may have to leave it to the modders to put these in game. To the OP: Satchel charges and grenades were in the mod and the standalone did have grenades at one point. There was also a time when shooting a gas station could make it explode but I believe that was changed (it caused problems for the server I think). The mod also had a grenade launcher attachment for the M4 and I hope that is available in the future. Maybe crafting stations (if ever made a reality) will allow us to make IED's.

Also, there's a status report today and they usually give us an idea of how they are progressing with the latest patch. This is the 3rd "where's the update" thread in as many days and it is not good for the forum to get so many repeat threads that bury more relevant threads. Had the OP looked at all (ether on the top level of the Xbox section or on the sidebar of the most recent threads) he would have seen my helpful post from yesterday and would know where he could find info on a new patch.
