I agree, to a degree. As a lone wolf it's difficult or nearly impossible to clear certain areas due to respawn. I also don't like when I approach an area and zombies spawn within a few feet of me, rather than spawning when I look in from a distance. Now especially with nerfing of some weapons, military hotspots, and heli crash sites would require grenades and a heavy machine gun to clear alone.

I spawned and immediately found my first can of mountain dew. Bandage, painkillers, mountain dew. :\

Funny, I thought this was a sure sign of hacking. Now I know it's a possible sign of chopper. Thanks.

i logged into 3 servers in a row with fire in the sky. it sucks but i'm trying to be patient

the only real friendlies i've met have been people I chatted with on TS3 otherwise, the people who don't try to shoot me and just part ways, are the friendliest randoms I've met.

taking away infinite ammo will change the game dramatically I think, and I'm all for it.

Barter is the obvious choice and is happening already, but without an ingame mechanic to facilitate it. I think currency would not be a good thing in this game. Currency usually needs a governing body to regulate it's use. Barter/trade is more "realistic" for an apocalypse scenario IMO.

It's a steep cut in power, but I think this is "better for the game". Enfield rounds should be especially devastating IMO, but I digress.... What would make this change cooler would be if a set of more rare, more effective guns were released alongside it. Maybe rare hollow points for appropriate rounds as well, that beef up the damage to a reliable double tap per Zombie for a gun like the 1911. BTW, this is exactly why I got mauled so badly at the NW Airfield today. 1 man, a 1911, and an AK, don't hold up as well against 7 or 8 zombies. I thought I was cool for awhile there, being able to clear places like the airfield Rambo style. Looks like those dayZ are over.

I'm having the same problem, and this has happened before with other patches. It seems to me that six launcher lags behind when pushing out beta updates....

After reverting to KoS out of frustration I recently decided that I should try to uphold how I thought the game should be played. Also, I hear stories about how friendlies can meet randomly and run together and part ways without incident. My latest approach is basically to run away from fire fights hoping the other player might declare "friendly" or simply avoid conflict all together. The last 5 players I have run into have shot me without provocation. My last death, I was simply trying to leave town when I came upon a guy lying prone. I had every opportunity to kill this asshole long before he got a bead on me but instead I gave him a wide birth, only to be shot in the back. Unless I have pre-confirmed you are friendly outside of the game, I am going to put a bullet in your head if I can. I AM NOT A BANDIT. But the worst of you force my hand. :|

I just hope that video wasn't scripted. Still awesome though. :)

What if I merely make every effort to avoid you, and I'm carrying a firearm? Do you shoot because I might be planning to ambush you somehow? Yesterday I spawned outside cherno and when I entered town I quickly found myself with 3 other players. All around us there were at least 6 agro zombies, momentarily confused as to who to kung fu first. One poor S.O.B. looked to be prone with no weapon, another had no weapon and was running about, a 3rd had a hatchet and beat a hasty retreat. I contemplated trying to kill off the zombies and assist the noobs but there was no immediate high ground or sufficient cover, and too many close quarters zeds for my winchester.

Thanks, next time I'm ready to roll with someone I will try to hit you up. I did ride with a clan on a couple of missions one day. I had fun with them, but didn't join up.

I love how popular reasoning seems to be that since I typed "friendly?" and didn't speak it into a microphone, it meant I should be killed. I have a mic, thanks. But I didn't want to have it on all the time. I did not buy Arma to play Arma, I in fact bought it for DayZ. I have little interest in Arma style missions. I'm also in no hurry to join a clan, and would like random day by day team ups much more. I know I'm not quite good enough to last too long as a lone wolf right now, but I still have fun and keep learning. I have an RL friend who bought CO but hasn't had a chance to install yet. Maybe after playing with him for awhile we can go looking for a clan or something. I put my mic on.... "don't shoot!". I'm trying hard to hold onto a shred of humanity....
