Ever since the weapon damages were changed I have barely used a handgun. I had a PDW that I really liked, but the ammo was too rare. The glock is a low level handgun, it's fairly accurate but weak. I just double tap everything with my AK these days.

A clear way to explain the "break line of sight" method might be like this: Find a line of pine trees with thick green bows low to the ground. Keeping the zombies behind you, weave between the row of trees. If the tree line is long enough, you should be able to lose the zombies fairly quickly.

No offense meant, seriously. But isn't it obvious you are looking to dupe the charge (exploit)? I saw another thread like this yesterday.... I found a satchel charge recently but I don't need anything except maybe a new vehicle. So yeah, I'll just hang onto this bad boy and hope I don't die before it comes in handy. Edit to say: The barracks is EXACTLY where I found it.

I'm on day 4. 288 kills, 0 murders. I've survived 2 blown up tractors, and 3 sniping attempts. Today I was able to assist someone for the first time. I was able to confirm friendly in a fire station and protect and cover the new spawn who only had a makarov so he could go upstairs and loot. I then gave him some gear and drove off in my tractor. It can happen!

Gear snobbery seems so silly from the outside.

To D.I.Creampie You are officially the first random friendly I have met. I drove my tractor up to a firehouse and ran inside looking for loot. After clearing the building and descending 2 floors I realized that Zombies had entered the ground floor. I thought I had somehow aggroed them earlier or from inside so I didn't immediately think another player was nearby. I walk down the final flight of stairs and I level my gun at a zombie when I hear makarov fire VERY close by. I frantically call out "friendly" into direct chat and I hear a british accent answer back, "I'm friendly, I'm friendly, I'm legit friendly!". I then announce that I am going to kill the zombies which I do, and he asks if there is a weapon upstairs. I tell him there is a shotgun upstairs and that I would cover the entrance while he loots. I asked him his IGN and tell him mine, and apologize for the tractor being only a 1 seater but offered him his pick of the loot in the tractor as it was all found anyway. He proclaims it "a most amazing thing" that I didnt shoot him and we part ways amicably.

Not the metal green things. Dark, brown, wooden ones. Set on the edges of the woods.

Why is it so hard to understand that it radically changes the game at it's core? I'm just trying to survive the horror of zombies and murderous shit for brains. A perfect analog for real life! *joke*

If you don't want to be forced into some PvP you should play a different game. I don't want any PvP really, so I avoid others as much as possible.

I don't play this game for the PvP but I do believe it has it's place. I feel conflicted on this subject because of this. As much as I hate being killed by murderers (notice I did not call them bandits), it's a legit part of the game. I am at 275 kills, 3 days, and a random person shot me (but didn't kill me) at NW airfield. I managed to escape with my life, and hope to exceed 300 kills and possibly run into another random friendly (some day).

I admit, I use an outside map. I use it less and less as I memorize the territory. You can pass pretty close to a deerstand and never see it. Keep your eyes peeled for seemingly random military zombies on the periphery of wooded areas. That should be a good sign a deerstand is nearby. They are brown all wood affairs about one story high.

I still have yet to have an encounter like this. Somebody shot me (but didn't kill me) at NW Airfield earlier. Apparently someone shooting Zombies is a direct threat. :/

I recently found a satchel charge for the first time, I wasn't sure if it was a legit item in the game yet. I guess it is.

May I please be a tester for the standalone DayZ game?

What a prick. Sorry you chose such a worm to protect. Don't lose faith though, there are people like me, already geared up, that wouldn't mind rolling with randoms from time to time.

I don't give a day old skidmark about the PvP aspect of this game, and apparently it saves me A LOT of grief. I know the low ping, low occupancy servers that I can play on where I rarely see hackers or other players for that matter. Meh.

I wish some of you could see this game through the eyes of a 30+ yr old gamer So many of you appreciate so very little.

It would be cool if the DayZ team imported your user ID into the standalone and possibly offer those ID's that were active during Alpha a special skin or outfit, or maybe a symbol on your profile on the website that denotes Alpha cred. Silly people like me eat that stuff up.
