Plausible shotgun idea: Ability to empty both chambers of double barrel shotgun at the same time. Not so plausible shotgun idea: Ability to make or find sawed-off double barrel shotgun that can be holstered as sidearm. Sawed-off shotgun would have massive pellets spread with medium damage at close range for one man zombie crowd control, with damage decreased greatly at long range.

Vehicle saving is broken in 1.7.2.5, btw.... I can go days without finding vehicles and then find many in a row. I was even able to fix an ATV all by myself the other day. (Hours of walking involved.) I went 3 days without a single vehicle or camp and then found 6 vehicles and 2 small camps in 2 days. Persistence pays off. Definitely try different servers. I know where a motorcycle keeps reappearing on a particular server due to the bug. Too bad the server has barbwire grief on almost all of the best loot spots.....

I've still only had 2 hacker sightings, 1 bad, 1 "good". A game like this is in a constant state of flux. At any given moment a patch could remove our gear due to a bug or even possibly issue a global stat/gear wipe.

One word, motorcycle. I can buzz right up, and check for loot, before Zombie spawn. As soon as things get weird, on my bike again. I know this isn't 100% practical as motorcycles aren't easy to find, but I think it's worth trying if you have one.

I found where a motorcycle was on a server, and it keeps coming back to that spot. This bug sorta "ruins" vehicles in the game. I'm really looking forward to being able to save vehicles where I want them again.

Lately (I believe since 1.7.2.5 was released) I've noticed that one shot from my M16A4 ACOG when aimed at the area of the heart, upper chest, and neck area, seems to be a 1 hit kill on Zombies. I confirmed this last night, from multiple angles. Zombie facing me, zombie with it's back to me, zombie hopping, and zombie crawling. 1 M16 round = 3555 blood Zombie health = 4400 blood Can anyone confirm, deny, or explain this? Up until now I've reliably had to double click to close Zombie, when aiming center mass.

Don't type friendly. Use a mic! Some of us are friendly but also choose to avoid others to survive. Finding people to play with here on the forum is easy, but it's not as exciting as a random friendly team-up. I've only been able to confirm friendly twice while playing, otherwise I have been shot at for the most part. Also: FYI to those who posted steam names, not all of us use steam....

Yeah mike, maybe you need to choose servers more carefully. I've only died to a hacker once. Like a week ago. High pop PvP servers attract more scripters as bandit tears and sniper gawd tears taste the sweetest. If PvP is your main attraction to the game, you in turn attract more scripters.

another pitfall avoided by preferring not to seek PvP.... Still super weak if admins are doing this. Why are you playing if you don't want legitimate competition? You only get better be learning from your defeats and playing people better than yourself.

Yeah... it sucks. I was trying to get into fixing vehicles as a lone wolf, and this bug was ruining my best efforts. I found a motorcycle while looking for a bicycle last night, I hope it's there later as well.

I'm not crazy about the whole "only die from headshot" thing. ESPECIALLY if they are "infected", and not undead, and need a heart to pump blood. If you're going to go the headshot route, then you need to have a mechanic for all levels of body mutilation right up to a zombie being just a head.

Is that built in? "Some shots will 1 hit kill randomly."? I swear I had 1 shot kills back to back to back, with shots to the chest of zombies.

Ok admittedly, I'm not so tech savy that I know which things are handled by ArmaII, and which are handled by the mod. I made an assumption I shouldn't have. Come to think of it, maybe I've seen this since 96061, and not since 1.7.2.5 Either way, if it's true, it's a significant change IMO.

If you play alone, and want to survive, avoid people all together. Part of me wants to try to find random friendlies but i don't put any effort into it. I recently called a medic for the first time, and it seems medics are more and more popular.

Many thanks to Kowalski for his patience in finding me, and healing me up so I may continue to persevere. Never thought I would need a medic, super glad they exist once I did. I'm not sure I want to mess with ATV's anymore....

ATV flipped crushing me, I'm mobile but around 850 blood and hunting in my condition has become unbareable. I fear I may die without assistance. oh come now Aru, I was using the terms loosely. I DO know the difference between a scripter, a hacker, and how the terms white hat and black hat are used within actual hacking circles. If my carelessness with the language so deeply offends you, you might want to try being less of an arrogant prick about it. Good day to you too.

There is a button to, "drop your weapon". I have it bound to one of my extra mouse buttons. It's a good way to show you're friendly. I haven't tried to see of it helps in close quarters, never really occurred to me until now.... Next time i jam against a wall, I'll try it out.

I've told this story a couple of times on here, but it's relevant to this post. Short version, I lost a nine day old character to a hacker. Next day, ran into a white hat hacker who after hearing my story of being nuked, spawned all new gear right into my own backpack without me asking (I had no idea he was a hacker half the time we played together, it only became apparent when I find the gear in my bag). After which I told him that the items were not legit and that he should be counter hacking black hats. I tried to get away from him saying i wanted a daytime server, so he turned on the sun. Then i admitted that it wasn't fun playing with someone with god like power, and at that he seemed upset and desperate to play with someone. After logging out I spawned to a different server and burned all the loot i wasn't supposed to have keeping only the stuff i lost to the hacker the day before. My point is, I too felt pity. Only because he seemed to want someone to play with and was a nice enough guy, and I had to "reject" his friendship due to the fact that he breaks the game, for fun.

Whatever. We all go through this. If your looking for PvP, shoot on sight. If you're a survivor, learn to avoid people. If you need to make contact, use a Mic. So either join the bastards or grow a spine and stand by your convictions.

Bad idea. Do you have any clue how hard it is to try build a vehicle when you are by yourself? Now imagine I am competing with a large clan for spawns and repair loot... Nearly impossible. I enjoy the survival horror in this game and not the PvP personally. Part of that is surviving the murderous bandit bastards, but that shouldn't be the sole purpose of the game. Basically, if i want to build a vehicle, and not just always have to search for camps to find one, i have to find a low pop server.

I ran into a white hat hacker, i didn't know he was a hacker but long story short after he heard i lost my gear to hacker death he spawned gear into my back pack without asking. I burned all of the "extra" items he gave me, ones that i hadn't lost to the hacker the day before (as50, clips, ghillie), and kept the rest. All gear i have is in the game. If i somehow got banned for this it would be total crap. I received unsolicited hacker redemption. Besides this, I've played 100 percent legit, and lone wolf.
