You're not paranoid ENOUGH IMO. I recently had contact with another player for the first time in a week. In the form of 2 shots whizzing past me as I rode away from Stary on my motorcycle. I'm staying hidden until this whole apocalypse thing settles in a little more. Current character going on 2 weeks. Edit: to say, I would like to see a Mountain Man skin. Thanks to all devs, and others involved with this amazing game. I anxiously await every iteration of DayZ, and look forward to testing as much MMO Survival Horror as you guys will let me get my hands on. I do everything you say there, EXCEPT I will loot a tent for something I need, or take a vehicle if I don't already have my own. The only tent I have griefed was full of hacked items. Fact is, even if I take something from a tent, I often leave something in it's place.

I died to a hacker once personally. My play style and server choices help me to avoid them. I play for 2+ hours at a time without a scripter or even seeing another player. I feel for all of you dying this way all the time, I'm sure it's awful. But maybe if the skiddies scatter, the CoD kids will stop KoS, and DayZ may revert to a state of co-op and more dynamic play once again. And then when stand alone goes live, the douch baggery will resume again.

I'm becoming complacent. I found a very sleepy server where I know a motorcycle glitch spawns on reset. I've been circling the map killing zombies, collecting ammo for my m16ACOG and PDW, and I had not seen another player in most of a week. (king of da castle, king of da castle!) Today I rode up to Stary military tents, as usual, the UAZ was pointlessly sitting there, it's Red today.... how nice. Clearing the tents I was fairly happy to have found stanag and PDW rounds, and proceeded to perch myself overlooking the tents to pick off the zombies meandering below. After a few long minutes of killing zombies, I hopped back on my motorcycle and began to head NE meeting up with a treeline. Just as I am approaching the treeline, riding at nearly 50mph, sniper rounds zip past me, 1 on my left, the other to my right, both seemingly very close to their mark. I began weaving the bike erratically to avoid any other rounds, until finally disappearing into the treeline. That was my first contact in 6 days. I think I got very lucky, and picked the exact right time to leave Stary, just as some murderous bastard entered. And to the "sniper" who didn't get my motorcycle, my tasty gear, or my 12 day old survivor..... :P

Though I like the idea of the random lucky high damage very rare shot with any firearm. I do not think it would impact KoS much, except to add a random element on both sides of the equation.

No. I play often but if someone wants to pick up DayZ infrequently, and not care much what happens to their character, that's fine too.

Dude, go play something else already. You're obviously not enjoying DayZ. Rocket owes you nothing, despite what you may think.

I actually do like Rockets ideals for gaming. Like most of my favorite game producers, there's a real passion to do something exceptional in what he is trying to create. His posts and online persona seem to be the product of someone who isn't afraid to speak his mind, or cow tow to a particular group. It's obvious that a large amount of talent has sprung up to support him in this effort, including people who came up through this community. I prefer Rocket to stay focused on the most important goal of the stand alone, and would likely be best served only gleaning suggestions from this board now, rather than spending his time fielding questions about dog functionality, and drying QQ eyes after hack death, or glitch rage.

They were sort of pathetic in that they were over their heads and out of their element. Many of us could have made better use of that time. And the stream of this guy derping through new spawns was sort of detrimental to the interview, though entertaining at times. Yes, let's all watch you throwing cans! :\ "How do they know what server you're on!?" Well bright eyes, I see your friends IGN, thats 1, AND I see all of the names that popped up with hacker death. Find the server with those names. Mystery solved!

i think he was just supporting your idea by giving a second vote. :) I was just thinking this same thing the other day, and I totally agree.

I have come to the conclusion that the vehicles return to the last location they were saved at or spawned to before the update. I found 4 locations on 1 map where the vehicles keep resetting to reliably. Of course the only one worth running to is the motorcycle because of another bug, "auto-fix".... So take note of where you FIRST find a vehicle and MAYBE when the reset takes place it will be where you found it.

I never even started the engine of the pick-up, I left it right where I found it. :) I'll keep my motorcycle, thank you very much. "Hoarding", lol. Somehow I doubt those are scripted in, I found them and would never know the difference. Now if you're implying I scripted them in, you should bite your tongue.
