    November Round-up

I've mentioned grabbing>biting as Zed attack a few times. Lying stationary grabbers are a bit cliche now though, no?

    November Round-up

They have a 12 step program for that.

Hmmm, the stew thickens.... Surprise confirmed for standalone.

Quick update for 19 November 2013

Sounds good, Steak. I'm still curious about: How many attacks SA zeds will have and I would be interested in seeing a list of zed attacks and the baseline damage they do.

Quick update for 19 November 2013

Thank you, Rocket. It will indeed be done when it's done and I'm excited watching the whole thing unfold in real time. The open production policy you've tried to manage is admirable. Would someone care to elaborate on this? Edit: How many attacks will SA zeds have? I would be interested in seeing a list of zed attacks and the baseline damage they do.

I'm patient and optimistic. I'm patient and optimistic. Meditate on this my son. Is the server half full or half empty?

    Just saw Rocket again.

I was happy that I was able to use that one pic for my Kenny McCormick....

    Hetstaine in Standalone confirmed

The winners all seemed to have a very loose definition of "dancing".

You're equally likely to see both of the above gestures in my town.... Rock on with these:

Quick status update for week 8 November

No war intended what so ever. In the future I was hoping that they could add an attack for zombies at point blank range where the zombie would grab your character by their nearest limb and try to bite.

    November Round-up

Nah. I'm hopeful. I have a feeling that they would release at -50 players capable rather than hold up release too much longer. November, November, November. We will be thankful.

Quick status update for week 8 November

You aren't paying attention. Firstly some of the added glare is due to time of day in game. Everyone needs to relax on that one observation. I think you aren't taking all of the factors into consideration here. 1. Hetstaine is actively dodging the attacks to use the last frames of animation to essentially "back stab" the zombies. A good ol' shot to the back of the head is always ideal.... 2. The zombies you are looking at are likely "skeletal" in nature as they do not include much of the planned AI and programming that will go into them in the future. 3. For the game to be a balanced survival experience it was more important for them to make hoards of zombies very dangerous and not individual zombies. *If you are going to take the time to post and criticize please go scour Rockets reddit feed and read the first page of the Round Up threads....

    November Round-up

Yeah. People are screaming about options that should be default customizable in any decent PC FPS game. I was a little worried about no lefty perspective setting as this is more and more being over looked by programmers but it seems that will be a feature. Different types of riot shields would be very handy indeed.

    November Round-up

I wish I could have contributed enough time to the mod and community to have "earned" a key but in my case I've been well occupied with enough real world stuff and haven't had enough time for or access to DayZ up until pretty recently. I'm not traveling anytime soon and my work schedule is no more than full time currently. If the game drops soon I should have really nice chunks of time to play the SA. :) Regarding the video: Hiding and camouflage will be more difficult with long barrels and tool handles protruding so high above ones shoulders....

    November Round-up

I wanna, "dick around and do a whole lot of nothing" just like hetstaine was. :( I will pay to pick through everything and try to offer helpful observations. You will release the hounds.

    what happen if SA sucks?

People misinterpret KoS often because of the language barrier..... I find it highly unlikely that the SA will be less awesome than the mod. If you consider the mod to be super awesome, then you'll see my point. I have said that DayZ SA is a huge challenge but I also have faith that they have considered simplicity in ways you and I don't know about. Enough forethought and expertise has likely gone into the production of DayZ SA that the common problems with adding on content are less prevalent. DayZ was built from the bottom up to facilitate additions and flexibility on many many levels.

    November Round-up

That's what I took it mean. So I'm guessing some the subdivisions outlying the cities will now have names. That's helpful and more authentic I guess. *I'm planning on dying a lot now, so everything goes as planned.*

    November Round-up

Google translated Arsenys text for the 2 player pic on twitter to read: Edit: Reddits had this for better make happy translation. We had a little run through Zelenogorsk, got some loot, I found a knife and a jacket; that dude found a screwdriver So we are like: ''Yo, got some change, bro?'' and that's a sweet reference to Russian hoodlums (gopniki) and how they begin conversation with random victim in the street. Russian hoodlums' natural habitat is city outskirts, comprised of huge apartment blocks (just like new Cherno area - Novoselki)

Quick status update for week 8 November

Well put. Unfortunately there is a reason why average intelligence is, average. Culture is essentially a democracy in that the majority rules. I began playing the mod around the time you had and I was sad to see KoS mentality take over. As I am a fan of survival horror and not FPS games I merely learned to play on low pop servers and did things many people would probably find boring. There are also quite a few factors of the SA's initial state upon release that may contribute to more survivors being interested in playing than bandit minded people. No vehicles and limited weaponry will keep some away. Others may not have the patience to deal with glitches that may pop up. I'm a hopeful, idealistic gamer at heart but the fatalist in me also knows the reality of people, given guns, with little to no consequence for their actions, and what they are capable of. Griefers gonna grief....

Quick status update for week 8 November

Yup. Only the toothless rapey shit for brains pose a threat. Not the average survivor. I have faith in Rocket and Co. It will be a survivable horror (without being an abject murderer). Edit: post 666 The above song fills me with as much joy as the prospect of the SA.
