He WAS shot in the back first though I believe.... alone, vs 3? OP could have been a little cooler about it maybe but it seems like a legit revenge clip.

One weird trick to avoid upcoming character wipe

Listening to people brag about their gear is HILARIOUS. I swear you can tell who played the mod and who didn't from how they post. -
What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?
☣BioHaze☣ replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
The announcements regarding hack fixes really don't matter either way. Every update has potential hack fixes in them so by your logic every update cycle would see a ramping up of hacking just prior to release. In fact, one of the benefits to open testing is EARLY exposure of security weaknesses in the game that can be fixed so that when they do release a complete version it will be better protected from the beginning. -
Zombies, interface, survivability
☣BioHaze☣ replied to beyondbeliefs's topic in New Player Discussion
Hi! No offense meant at all but have you read any of the development news or followed the forum for very long? The work involving the zombies in game has been laid out for us in detail and has been prioritized. Read status reports and devtracker! This game is going to break many times before it's complete. If you have trouble accepting that you should come back when Beta is done. Thanks. -

Has anyone ever succsessfully searched for berries?
☣BioHaze☣ replied to battlerhd's topic in General Discussion
Yes. I found red berries after searching the same bush multiple times. Funny enough, they resembled the berries I was told not to eat as a kid, so I ate them. -
One weird trick to avoid upcoming character wipe

You're welcome. I will enjoy the crying about BEING wiped more than the crying before the wipe. :murder: -
Ok. You first. No hanging, sitting, or otherwise lowering yourself. Just your most brisk walk, straight off.

One weird trick to avoid upcoming character wipe
☣BioHaze☣ replied to kakysas666's topic in General Discussion
It's mentioned in status report. "It is our intent once we have addressed the core issues with abuse of item duping, as well as resolved issues with the protection of player storage and opened game server providers rental of private shards, to wipe the stable branch clean. This will allow us to ensure a clean start on player storage and camps, as well as remove issues such as: Bugged ammo quantity magazinesCorrupt charactersDuplicated items and ammunition" http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/208484-devblog-status-report-week-of-18-august-14/ Devtracker and status reports are 2 of the top sections SA players who want to be informed, should follow. -
It would make sense to read about a games strengths and weaknesses before you purchase it, wouldn't it? A 5 foot jump might not kill (but could still seriously injure you, especially if you are carrying 50lbs of gear on your back) but anything over 4 stories is fatal in most cases.

One weird trick to avoid upcoming character wipe
☣BioHaze☣ replied to kakysas666's topic in General Discussion
That would be an exploit which is against game policy. I expect this thread to be locked and yarded. Seriously man. Wiping the database is for the good of the hive. Go feed your character to a neverending stream of zombies like a man. -
Status Report - Week of 25 August 14
☣BioHaze☣ replied to DemonGroover's topic in News & Announcements
1: Balance for everything including food will be dealt with in detail once we enter Beta. 2: I would imagine that aggressive animals are not a priority for immediate implementation. 3: Non-lethal weapons have been discussed at length and from what I gather in the OP they are now beginning the process of making the graphical models for these items. 4: No mention of weapon throwing bug does not mean it hasn't been addressed or at least not looked into. I would look for mention of this in the final 0.49 changelog. 5: Hacking is always being addressed.... eh, was that even a real question? 6: Weather will effect your character for sure. You will get sick and die from exposure if you do not have rain gear or seek, dry, warm shelter when the weather turns ugly. We may see wet weather ruining items if you get soaked through. ***I for one would like to suggest RAINCOVERS for backpacks and improvised raincovers/rain coats that would come from garbage bags or tarps (I keep forgetting to post this). I use one for all weather cycling (a raincover) and the worn one I have still repels A LOT of water. Last night I crashed my new bike and got blood on my raincover, I'm hoping it stains as a reminder. Looks like a zombie took a swipe at me while I was riding my bike! -

Expect this Alpha release to be wiped multiple times and possibly with little to no warning (though this time we were warned). Expect your own data to be wiped every time you log in and you will be better prepared. Expect every "game breaking bug" at any moment. Thank you.

I am very pleased with the progress being made.
☣BioHaze☣ replied to Xbow's topic in General Discussion
Frankly, it's still Alpher. Why is the DayZ SA dev team supposed to perform faster than industry standard? The game may break to different degrees, at different times. I have experienced crash bugs, wipe bugs, poor zombie interactions, hackers, and then some for 2+ years. If nothing in the above sentence sounds tolerable to you, this may not be the Alpha project for you. Back to the SUBJECT, which is positivity.... I have a great sense that Rocket and Co have little interest in pandering to the masses. If you combine all of the character specific factors and environmental factors that will come to bear on this game over the next months/year/years, you can start to see how this will not be the deathmatch FPS game that some people insist on trying to make it. Survival for all types of players (good/neutral/evil) will take painstaking strategy and often end in failure not due to being KoS'd. The way you explained zombie aggro made it sound like less of the "never ending zombie bug" than a legit short term tactic to ramp up zombies (glitched or otherwise). "When in doubt, add more zombies." - Rocket I think if there was a finite amount that they could spawn in this fashion it would make a little more sense to me. I lost a well geared, well worn character to this basically because I didn't really understand the mechanic at play. I guess I would never have been able to shoot my way to safety.... -

i loved the mod and i love the SA. Rockets vision has grown and matured along with our help and support. Lately I feel like we are on the cusp of having a real idea of what this game will be like when nearing completion. I like that they added a lot of sway and inaccuracy to long range shooting. It really is more realistic than a perfectly static barrel, even if currently it's a bit exaggerated. I think this mechanic has discouraged some sniping, which I'm ok with. -
Did you expect that your character would last forever? It was stated many times that there would be data wipes throughout development, no maybes about it. If you've played that much DayZ (similar to myself), you should have by now embraced perma-death and embraced the re-gearing process. I've been a gamer 30+ years and I honestly can't remember another game online or off where people acted so entitled while being wholly ignorant of the nature of the game they are playing. I for one CANNOT WAIT for the wipe and ALLLLLLL your tears that will flood this board. MMMmmmm yummy yummy QQ's.

I'm so tired of new players with old ideas and no willingness to use the search function to see if their idea is out there already. So let's just fill the forum with repeat topics, over, and over, and over again. If you are a newer player, please realize that DayZ mod is now over 2 years old and most ideas have been discussed. Search/find topic, add idea to preexisting topic. Voila, your idea is neatly archived along with the rest on the same subject! Weeeeee!

About last night (and the zombie horde)
☣BioHaze☣ replied to Zombie Milkman's topic in General Discussion
I experienced similar on a stable branch server. Many people were complaining about neverending zombies but I managed to avoid it for awhile up until recently. It seemed like no matter how much ground I put between myself and a zed in aggro that it never lost me and for every zed I killed another came running almost instantly until I was overwhelmed. I for one hope they do something to correct this in the next update. -
I do believe the current stable includes more types of ammo in civilian locations, which I think is good. Some people are gun enthusiasts, some love hunting by bow, some people collect knives, others hoard food. Make stuff sparse in general but finding caches and stashes should be a thing too.

Hero Medic Immediately those are 2 challenging options that don't include KoS gameplay. There is a thrill in just trying to confirm friendly, is there not? When you (and presumably your partner) confirm a players intentions you can then find out what they are looting for. Assisting new players in need was one of my personal favorite ways to interact. In the mod, I once supplied a young british player with food and weaponry by randomly saving him from zombies that cornered him in a barn. He said, "That was single greatest thing that ever happened to me in DayZ!", and ran off without trying to kill me. I've attempted to bring together randoms on one server in the past and successfully had a small group of regulars, all of which made missions together to help the others find something or simply explore and clear a city. None of the above examples include singing around a campfire. Dodging zombies, bullets, and running endlessly? Plenty of that.

Herein lies your lack of, shall we say, "flexibility"? YES, many players will try to be bandits/killers but to have ANY chance for something else you have to at least try. You may not enjoy the humanistic survival aspects of the game planned for the future. Even as limited as the standalone is now I can think of many other things to do when I encounter another player, other than a firefight.
-
Right, and again, like I said, you've brought nothing to really add (other than to deflate the whole topic). Bravo.

/insert sarcasm That added sooo much to the discussion at hand, thank you. Maybe some people like voicing their opinions, you know, on a public forum..... oh hey, we're on one now! /close sarcasm If I see a thread full of "YO MAN, JUST KILL 'EM ALLLLL!!!!". It can be nice to throw in an alternate point of view.
