Warning, "Alpher". New stable update.... INCOMING! Many game elements will change for all of us TOMORROW. (Zombie hit detection/melee will soon be greatly improved!) I for one am curious to see how many of the bugs we scared out of the build have been exterminated for stable release.

Wrong internet, pal. Also, this is DayZ, this is your story. No set "end game" content or goals will likely ever be implemented in the "vanilla" experience. Private shards may see this kind of thing in the future.

Can we stop this instant-ruined-everything stuff?
☣BioHaze☣ replied to over9000nukez's topic in General Discussion
Nope. Just twice within short succession. Thanks for playing. -
The .50 experimental thread has a few good pics of the hermit zombie recently post by member Odin_Lowe. Good story, though I'm not sure how you knew the guy you killed was the torturer.

^^^So to you there is only 1 possible type of interaction, a firefight. To many of us, there are other ways for things to play out, even if they don't end in "friendly" fashion. http://youtu.be/FQ6kMWA2WRk Here.
-
^^^Hey, at least you experimented with different ways to play! :beans: A high pop server will often have more people looking for a fire fight (as I'm sure you know). I do often avoid interaction if I can but I do have neutral/friendly encounters fairly often. Part of the fun of DayZ for me is not knowing what will happen next. If you shoot at everyone arbitrarily you greatly reduce the chance for any other type of experience.

At least SOMEONE noticed! Actually, I read one thread and wrote that and then the next thread I read..... it fit perfectly so I yeah, copy pasta, mmmmm. :P -
I didn't have to read further. You almost certainly DO NOT out survive me with your strategy. I don't feel "better" because I chose less PvP in my DayZ experience. I just apply some of my internal standard on my world and it makes it a little more visceral and challenging in a way that entertains me. If there's a person who needs DayZ to make them feel good about themselves, I feel sorry for them. Edit: for the record, I'm no Hero.

Sudden instant death and player Hit Points
☣BioHaze☣ replied to Paxom (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Look at it this way; there's no way your current character won't get wiped at some point so fight on until your back gives out and look forward to acquiring your next set of sweet azz gear. :) -

This issue has been pointed out from the beginning and often enough really (no offense). I'm confident that the people who will eventually balance this factor are working on things we would likely agree have more priority. If you spread yourself too thin when you have many complicated tasks in hand, the quality of the work will suffer immensely. -
Eating and drinking system - Please, just give it up.

You know what would be nice? If the next 2 years of development for DayZ happened over night. If you think this issue should be a priority or is "game breaking" then maybe it's time for you to take a break from DayZ and follow the devtracker until you hear that they are working on this one specific factor in the game. People are saying, "half done" because experimental is at .50 when the numbers don't mean anything! The game is more like 1/3 done and probably won't really satisfy most gamers until at least Beta. -

The word "Friendly" - is it over used in DayZ?
☣BioHaze☣ replied to therunningmanz's topic in Gallery
When people say friendly to me I just try to evade them, unless I am fired upon. I guess I tend to use the term and I mean it but I often find doing a friendly gesture or the "friendly dance" is best to show I'm not a murderer. My favorite thing are the guys who yell friendly WHILE running towards me with a weapon raised..... really? -
I see your point but it sure doesn't change the fact that the phrase originated with Dean and will be forever referred to as such. Also, Dean will still be involved with the production and oversight of the project for a very long time. It's his claim to fame after all.
-
I understood there was a note of sarcasm but I also felt you meant it on some level. You're going to lose your character/gear to stupid stuff FOREVER in DayZ. Embrace the nothingness, be one with the void. Only then can you truly, "Dean with it".
-
THIS I just don't understand. WTH does Rocket have to do with that at all? What a whiny bunch of ignorant drivel.... Suggestion: Leave DayZ, come back in a year. Then declare it a broken piece of garbage and leave forever. Your problems are solved!
-
That actually went "better" than I would have expected, lol. I personally have been going for berries as they are always pristine. I like your crappy videos, thanks.
-
If I feel I'm getting bum rushed by somebody in close quarters my immediate instinct is to shoot first and cry over their corpse later. "WHY, GOD, WHHHHYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!?" I also prefer interaction to just another fire fight.

While a fitting might offer some insight, I don't think my bikes fit is holding me back in any big way. I am not a conventional cyclist by any means and I require a hybrid for most of my rides. I don't ride road bikes, use clips, or traps, or wear aero clothing. I out climb most wanna be Lance Armstrongs over the large bridges in the city (crossed the Triboro 2x today), and out sprint fixie riders, on a bike 2x the weight, weighing 230+ lbs myself. I'm a beast on my bike and ride in many postures, foot positions, and with a variety of form depending on conditions, often engaging my core and arms for climbing. About a year ago I woke up one day with the ability to trackstand almost indefinitely too; I'm pretty proud of that. I just put this sticker on my helmet (notice non-aero helmet) so the fair weather cyclists know why I just passed them like they were standing still. Congratualtions, we have completely derailed this thread! -

Wow, good eye! That is indeed my 2011 Gary Fisher Mendota (yes, disc brakes), and I love hybrid bikes as well! :) -

After 4+ years of all weather riding, 90lbs of fat loss, 1 century a year minimum (Ride to Montauk, Ride the Hudson Valley, The Farm Ride), and a completely self sufficient solo cyclotouring trip, I can assure that the angle of that seat is perfect for me. Why would I lie about such a thing? EDIT: WAIT, did you realize that the bike is at an angle on the wall there?? You may be perceiving a more severe angle due to the bike leaning. -

That angle is perfect for me on that frame and I ride 400-500 miles a month that way, thanks though!
