Thanks devs, all! Feels like xmas is coming a little early this year! Much excite! -
Nothing like this will ever work. The MOD had hero and bandit skins and people could exploit that to murder in a hero skin. The only hope for a server with less KoS will be whitelisted private servers. PvP is what you all are programmed for by countless other games. Most PvPers burn out much faster and move onto their next shooter. Those of us who enjoy the whole game tend to get more longevity out of the experience. /open sarcasm - What really makes DayZ great are "sniper gods" and ooooo creepy crazy cannibals. /close sarcasm We need PvP, we need murderers and bandits (there is a difference). But we also WANT more than CoD.

Why won't the XBONE players read about DayZ? When is it ok to drop your money on something and have 0 understanding of how the product is being made and what it will include in the future? Reading these threads makes me want to gouge my eyeballs out with a melon baller. I'm trying so hard to help you all help yourselves, but you seem to exist in a vacuum where the nearly 5 years of development and discussion are almost completely ignored.

People who cannot be bothered to READ, will not garner ANY sympathy. "As the nature of the Experimental branch is for the above mentioned testing methods, neither uptime, character data, nor stability is guaranteed. Persistence/Character wipes are to be expected!" These XBOX "testers" seem to have no problem paying $40 to try DayZ but did not have the foresight to learn about it before joining. Who's fault is that? If you only knew what this all looked like to a 6 year contributor....

Adorable. Have fun. Try to be patient with development. And maybe talk before you shoot.

0.63 Exp, Bacteria symbol when drinking from well
☣BioHaze☣ replied to Dudas_'s topic in New Player Discussion
I think they are gathering preliminary data on the mechanic before adding impact to the character based on those values. Temperature and wetness indicators show changes but have yet to impact players as well. -
"Infinite sprint" And so it begins.... do have fun! :D

This game is actually technically in Alpha. And some of us paid 4 years and 9 months ago to play many many borked PC versions to even get to this point. If you cannot be bothered to learn about the game before you purchased it, the blame falls on you. You could have read in many places that this is the state of development and that this is how Alpha is done for DayZ. Whether you think it's "too often" or not, does not enter into it at all. The devs will wipe so that they may get pristine data sets based on a new version, not to irk the player base. Stable is .62 and still on the old renderer. XBOX is running a very similar version to what is the Experimental PC version, and only PC gets the Stress test builds.

"As the nature of the Experimental branch is for the above mentioned testing methods, neither uptime, character data, nor stability is guaranteed. Persistence/Character wipes are to be expected!" It's massively frustrating that most of the new players will happily throw their money at DayZ but cannot be bothered to read a little on how the game is being made and needs to be tested.

I have a modest 1,500 hours in the standalone. I've been wiped more times than can be remembered. Wipes will happen often and unannounced until 1.0 Stable. If you cannot handle this, you may want to wait for a .63 Stable version to drop. Bikes are post 1.0 content. https://dayz.com/blog/status-report-28th-november "If you remember our 2015 roadmap, you probably think some features are missing. Taking a quick look at our goals for 2015 (when we originally wanted to reach BETA), that's correct - in order to not further hinder our plans for a functional core gameplay loop in BETA, we decided that some of those features will be added later in a form of free platform updates after 1.0: Vehicle modification Barricading Birds Aerial Transport (Specifically planes) Bikes/Motorbikes" You have no idea how many bugs and bullshit deaths the TESTERS of DayZ Alpha have put up with for 5 years now. You are definitely not cut out for any of the "unstable" versions. Maybe have a breather and you'll come back once stable versions are released. You need some patience and perspective if you really want to stick out this process. If you find it unreasonable in any way, take a break. DayZ standalone has been in development since December 16, 2013. 1,737 days December 16, 2013 - September 18, 2018 A decade is 3,650 days. ^This

When will vehicles be added to the game and what vehicles?
☣BioHaze☣ replied to TomJKD's topic in Xbox
https://dayz.com/blog/status-report-28th-november#/vehicles3 "DAYZ BETA FEATURES With regards to features, anything that's already in 0.62 legacy build will be present in BETA. Features listed below are either completly new, or improved significantly over the legacy implementation. -snip- Cars, together with basebuilding a helicopters, represent a pinnacle of player progression in DayZ. They require maintenance and parts, and will be expanded by core technology changes, improving their usability and reliability: Significantly improved network synchronisation, physics and simulation Damage system large improvement to how damage is managed on vehicles Vehicle maitenance large improvement in vehicle managment, usage and functions Controls improved control scheme and options" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "DAYZ BETA CONTENT As far as content is concerned, we've had to make some more shuffling around, and the initial BETA release won't maintain a 1 to 1 parity with the content in 0.62 legacy version. That said, content is easier to implement than features or core technology, and the progress there will be quite fast during BETA/post 1.0. BETA VEHICLES definitely in BETA Offroad V3S most likely in BETA, definitely by 1.0 Civilian Sedan Bus Littlebird helicopter" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "CONTENT FOR RELEASE BEFORE 1.0 / POST 1.0 For the rest, our goal is to get as close to 0.62 content as possible during all BETA updates, but we can not 100% estimate which particular weapons, animals or vehicles will be ready for 1.0. We're putting all the remaining content under one list for that reason. -snip- VEHICLES Skoda 1203 Skoda 120 VW Golf Multicar Bicycle Motorbikes Plane" Please, please, please, if you're new, go back and read, read, read. ALL of the status reports and maybe even the old build threads. If you're going to be passionate about this game and spend hundreds of hours playing it, you might want to take a few hours to read up on it. -
I dunno Kirov. I like both of you, and well, I've been reading pilgrim for a long time now. I've always known he's a brilliant contributor, though a bit unconventional in his writing style; there's usually a gem buried in there (when he's not debate sparring). Sometimes I tap out of his longer posts, but I often agree with much of what he says. I used to work as a paralegal (of sorts), helping to draft many hundreds of pages of legal documents every day, and after I left that line of work, my attention to exacting punctuation etc flagged quite a bit, probably after being burnt out on keeping it perfect for so long. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ More back on topic: Reading the XBOX KoS discussion threads is like stepping into a time warp back to 2012. It's sort of fascinating and at the same time cringe worthy to listen to them dig up, reanimate, and whip this dead horses bones to powder all over again. I'm also amazed that they are so adverse to following the PC forum, and seem to think the 2 versions are created in a vacuum apart from each other. Whitelisted servers combined with modded versions of the game will probably be the best place for RPing apocalypse.
-
I dunno, because it's the topic of the thread?

If they say they are leaving and you find they're actually tracking you, you probably did the right thing.

Such the old glitch. Thanks for your contributions to one of my favorite games! Now, what's the chance you might reinstall at a later date? Will you come back and act like you never said this? Why not take a pragmatic emotional approach to a VIDEO GAME? A game you knew was in mid development. A game you knew was buggy. A game that has brought the rage from so many, over so many months. Why not say something like.... I'm taking a break. This version of the game does not meet my requirements for an enjoyable experience. I'll come back and try future patches, especially once invisible zombies are worked out. Hey, but whatever.... thanks again!

Those values will likely be updated, and probably don't mean anything in regards to it being "raw" pork. It's not the same as uncooked boar as far as the game is concerned. If it somehow is regarded as such, they will fix this. Many new "testers" here have tunnel vision as to what they think takes priority for the devs to "fix". Your least favorite bug is likely not at the top of their priorities and will be addressed when they get to it in a hierarchy they set. Nearly every aspect of DayZ is going to have revisions and adjustments even at what is perceived to be "late in the game". Also, being adversarial with the staff will not do new members any good in getting their points across.

This has been said a million times already but still
☣BioHaze☣ replied to Nicklander's topic in General Discussion
I'm sorry, I don't. Maybe @ImpulZ can answer that. -
I just meant that the game will show the food as raw because it's in it's original unaltered state. I did not mean to say the actual food would have the properties of raw pork, rather it's more of a technical designation based on how the game recognizes the state of the food when it's eaten directly from the can.

My only advice in lieu of them actually changing the spawn rates, would be to try hunting. You can get a lot of meat from a single deer. -
I believe it's shown as raw simply because the food inside is cold, and unaltered in any way. All of the fruit and 'shrooms say raw and don't get you sick.

Dayz standalone Full release Refund question.
☣BioHaze☣ replied to harrykane140693's topic in New Player Discussion
An NES cartridge was around $35, which was way more money back in the 80's. We still bought these buggy, short, over priced games, on the chance that it might be something special. No web reviews, no good magazines, just take a chance, buyer beware. -
Everything is first completed on the PC side and then ported over for the XBOX. If you read the status reports, stress test build threads, and experimental threads, you will be up to speed on what's next for DayZ as a whole. https://forums.dayz.com/topic/239426-status-report-11-september-2018/ Do not neglect the PC forums because you think the information there is not relevant to consoles.

That's just in real life. :P I play neutral until provoked, in DayZ.

I miss being called a "care bear", can we bring that back?
