    Ugh, yes, thank you! I tried that and found single shells in my inventory but didn't think to try that while shooting. D'oh.

    There's about 20 servers. Yes spamming will probably get you in if you have patience. Played another 2 hour+ session. The compact shotgun is bugged and will only fire 1 round though loaded fully. Infected animations and interactions looked pretty good, seeing the new models in game is very nice. Items still don't go back to the slot you assigned them and dropping weapons due to problems with swapping and inventory is common place. I found a blood bag full of blood in a hospital but when I tested it the result was blank. Crouching while trying to vault is still a thing. Everything is so shiny and well rendered, so much that is old looks new again! Loot seems more scarce but not terribly so, and I believe if we had these levels of loot with AI spawning everywhere it would make for a consistently challenging experience. The fonts in the server UI are unstable. Sometimes they show up larger and then after moving through a few commands they compress. The reflex scope I had was damaged and when I added a battery it did not power on. All in all this is a huge patch (if you can play it), and it's hard remember all the changes I saw. I'm also hoping for either more servers or for the interest in the patch to die down so the experimental regulars get to the business of experimenting more. ^I think I got most of my settings nailed down... ^Dudester enjoys some sardines with his well water.

    I finally got into a server and played for 2-3 hours with only 1 instance of frame drop. Just when myself and a few other people in here were about to meet up, the server crashed, and after some spamming I took a break. Everything looks much better and runs more smoothly. There are tons of improvements but tons of things that need improvement. Matches can combine! Purification tabs cannot. Dropping and swapping items is as unreliable as ever and you should move items to a pack on the floor before swapping or risk losing them. Finding guns with mags and ammo is great. I did find an MP5 with 30rnd mag and reflex scope. Saw an infected and heard a couple more but didnt tangle with any yet. Back to Spamalot.

    Fucking connecting failed bug for me every time.... the loading screen comes up, freezes, and then I get booted back to main menu. Anybody know a fix? I tried running as admin, closing antivirus, and manually entering an IP (which wasn't working) but I get the same connecting failed error. SIGH :( Just realized I might have boot parameters set, if I do I'll remove them and try starting again.

    What do you enjoy about the Mod?

    In regards to the upcoming SA dynamic AI spawn they are supposedly going to try hard to make sure you cannot use infected spawn as player radar. I guess we would need an approx 500m+ spawn radius and the game would have to insert infected where you zoom in from a distance.

    No, this is a rare ill-informed post by you. They are coming up with ways to make it much more difficult to judge this. You should never be able to see a town empty of infected from a distance and then infected pop in when players approach if done correctly. I'm surprised you didn't realize they are working on this, but I guess you don't care for zombies??

    As a massive PRO. It is one thing the mod had that the SA needed a long long long long long long long long long, time ago. Only rather recently did the team concede it was a necessary mechanic and that having all infected spawned in at once would be too taxing on servers.

    Modding should get regulated

    Playing this way is ALWAYS up to you. No one made you play this way except you allowed yourself to be influenced without adapting to make the game play more the way you desired. There are private servers, and some 1PP servers, that attract more survival and RP players. You and I have not played anything like 1.0 so trying to project how things play now onto how they will play 6 months from now is completely pointless. I am greatly looking forward to ALL of these changes which will make Vanilla DayZ more of a survival game and less of a GearZ of DoodieZ. 1 player DayZ might be cool for some reasons but if I want 1 player survival horror I would personally rather just play Resident Evil....

    You answered your own question. They believe that some current bugs are not worthy of release. ^This is all you really need to know. 1.0 is still a long way off and it is most helpful to remember this while trying to be patient.

    Revisiting old models

    Some models have been redone and scrapped completely. At one time Deans original lovingly crafted bandage model from the mod was in and there were vests that have since been removed. I believe they will make improvements to some models depending on the perceived need but I also understand it is a lower priority task.

    Thanks devs/all! This is all great stuff. I wonder if the additional weapon animations Viktor mentioned are things like a bayonet stabbing motion or melee attack with the butt end of a rifle.... It is difficult to keep my composure through much of this wait (I was fairly cracking up around PAX East) but the more the devs detail the blockers the easier it is to manage. More dangerous infected is very exciting but the dynamic AI spawn boosting their population is even more important IMO. Looking forward to dynamic AI spawn in .61!

    What? Been this way since the mod circa September 2012. Until we get some of those big changes (A LOT MORE INFECTED NOW PLEASE) GearZ of DoodieZ is what 90% of the players will do.

    Still hate the term "toon". Fucking WarCraft terminology needs to go. Infected vaulting is awesome though. Exciting stuff.

    No dynamic infected spawn yet. :( ^This is so important.... Hicks said he thinks it will be ready for .61. Infected vaulting over map objects and fences was awesome/terrifying. No one here mentioned the other blocker we saw (the first being textures on infected not loading). The lootsplosion in the bathroom of the brick building/construction office/foremans office. The stream itself ended with 0 fanfare or sign off that I saw, with their internet tanking and them just shutting down.

    Whoa there, pilgrim. This is ignoring the balancing in Beta that should effect most of these borked tables plus a bevy of other core features that will be game changers. I hope this game gets brutally difficult again and the learning curve shoots through the roof. Then I can capture all the tears in buckets to dry them out and refill my salt stash! The circle of life!
