Is it Possible for 3PP to NOT be Overpowered?

1. Character model fetish belongs in Mary Kate and Ashleys Shopping Spree not DayZ. 2. DayZ is 1PP only. 3. 3PP is easy mode left over from ARMA2 and plays like GearZ of DroneZ cover shooter, especially without large amounts of dangerous infected. 4. The way we play DayZ is about to change so drastically (stamina, weight, infected, scarcity, fucking wolveZ, and balancing to name a few) that I believe most players cannot imagine how different things will be and a lot of arguments will be pointless. Hopefully we'll see more tweaking or "balancing" of 3PP which has been toyed with a few times already. One of the biggest problems with drone view is how it gives away the position of infected. ^Just this ruins any semblance of immersion. -

Yeah, reddit is a piss poor community when it comes to DayZ. Currently the Bug Tracker is down but there is a replacement being installed soon. If you care enough about the development of DayZ and want to contribute as best as possible to the discussion here it would be important to go back and read as many past status reports as you can stand to read. https://forums.dayz.com/forum/134-developer-discussion-status-reports/ -
Being able to walk while using ironsight

Trained marksman plant their feet in specific stances before firing. One of the things that made the good Resident Evil titles difficult was making you stand still to fire every time (which also creates tension and strategy). We already have a super easy to use crosshair for shoulder firing while moving, especially for automatic rifles IMO. And yes, the new player controller will include changes to how we move in every way, including while firing. What I would like to see is the resting of a gun on a barrier or similar object for added stability while firing (I believe ARMA has this).... -

Rule 1 of the standalone is there is no standalone. Rule 2 is never get attached to your gear. ;) -

Hey, wow! Thanks, Byron! I know this isn't a Q&A but.... Can you touch on loot and ammo scarcity and how you might plan to attack balancing this for a more brutal experience? Is there anything you can share about progress involving gear weight and stamina systems? How much disease is on tap for 1.0? -
How do you know the first image is taken in Enfusion? The text in the bottom left looks legacy too and I thought I noticed a difference in the text in shots of .60....

Brilliant, one of the best posts I have read in a long time. Thank you so much for having the patience and dedication to go through all of that. I 100% agree with you on all fronts. I would love to hear a BI staff member address this post point by point but I feel it will never happen. MAYBE, just maybe, the inclusion of the new AI spawn system will be the first in a succession of changes that will make it increasingly harder for these people to turn Vanilla DayZ into another FPS and they can go play some grab ass abomination mod off the public hive. -

I was never quite sure if my input in the experimental thread was looked at for bug reports and such (I actually just posted this question in the QA thread). I put a lot of effort into my experiential posts in those threads in the months gone by and it means a lot to me to hear that it isn't useless. -

I believe what we will see is a lot like the standard set by the mod. People who were stronger in life will make stronger infected. i.e. The large soldier who becomes infected wearing body armor would be much more difficult to kill than the hermit infected wearing rags and would also deliver more damage per strike.

Thanks for hard work, devs/all! I thought new infected spawn system was confirmed for .60 a while back but I guess I was mistaken... I hope we can see a ready for prime time .60 before April is out but I am trying to be realistic and patient. Also, it is nice to see mention of the newer infected models as we had not heard much on it in quite some time.

Ok, completely ignoring that all the features and content for .60 is nailed down already and that we are probably waiting on some driver updates, I'll bite. 1. Not their style really, but I guess it's possible. 2. This suggestion is my favorite and would probably be easy to implement. 3. Right click zoom has been changed 3 or more times already and will likely stay the same or similar due to factors based around actual qualities of the human eye. 4. Anything related to player movement is 100% irrelevant as we are getting an entirely new player controller module. 5. Not likely either, but I guess you can dream.

That's really sad, no sarcasm. You've been here about as long as I and have contributed some good ideas and feedback since the mod. It sucks to hear that you haven't enjoyed DayZ in so long. I do have sympathy for those that get motion sick but I also don't want to see this impact the quality of the standalone. Let's hope Enfusion renderer will help 9/10 of those who feel sick from low frames.

I know what's been said and what I offer does not remove 3PP from being available it just makes 1PP DayZ and everything else is a mod.

@Hicks_206 (DayZ) @SMoss Now is the perfect time to begin disassociating 3PP with Official Vanilla DayZ. Of all of the things that need improvement and will drag down the quality of DayZ if left alone, the current 3PP is the worst and always will be. I would also go so far as to say that any 3PP makes the game something other than DayZ. 1. I believe the developers know that a pure DayZ experience can only be be played in first person. 2. Make .60 experimental 1PP only announcing your intentions to preserve DayZ's core experience and integrity. 3. Close public 3PP servers when modding tools are released and then make 3PP only available through mod options. *4. "Create" game called, GearZ of WarZ with current cover fire camera fighting left intact. Remove infected, and farming, leaving the loot tables basically the same. Add spawn location choices made by the players, and spawn load outs that include a functioning firearm with ammo. 3PP is literally Easy Mode left over from ARMA2. DayZ and Easy Mode should never be mentioned in the same sentence. Thank you. *P.S.: I don't want to hear about your motion sickness, character model fetish, or other reason your prefer 3PP, this is a truly serious suggestion for the developers and not intended to spark a debate.

Never get attached to your gear. You are melting down and soon to be banned. You are not fit for early access alpha. You have made it clear you do not understand this process or understand the changes that will come. Please leave DayZ and DayZ related stuff alone for now and MAYBE come back after full release.

Thanks for this insight into the QA process. Of course, only now do I think of a relevant question.... How often do they use the posts detailing bugs and problems that get posted in the Experimental and Stable threads on the official forum? Does SMoss or someone similar take notes on things we post here and pass it on or do the QA team members themselves sometimes follow the threads when the builds are new or possibly throughout? I mainly ask because many of us put our detailed experiences in those threads hoping someone involved sees them there.

Got to 1:21 (and had to stop) where it shows the person wall peaking, is that you? So, guy who KoS's complains in experimental thread that he got KoS'd.... check. Guy who complains about wall peaking, in multiple threads plays on 3PP/wall peaks.... check. Where's my fucking Picard facepalm emoji. -

Dynamic infected spawn should be part of .60.... 1PP makes the game inherently more tense as well. Our characters are going to be far more vulnerable to nearly everything in successive updates.
