Yeah and it helps if the server you put it on gets an update when you do too.... :/

I made the stupid mistake of thinking I could just drop the BE update in the folders, when in fact I needed to actually run the update. Maybe some of you have made this same mistake?

I would like to hear more stories like this. Teaming up PvZ was likely the only way either one of you really had a fighting chance, and it made for an intense Zombie standoff scenario.

Six Launcher now seems to force 95054, so I think 95099 is likely broken. It sounds like some of you have not ran the latest BE update.... Why rush out so many flawed patches? I think there could be less patches and more time spent making sure they work. It would also be nice if there was a way of making sure the servers and players update more in synch as well.

*BUMP* I have some supplies stashed on NY2 and I would love to see the server updated to 95099 so I may recover my loot and save my tent.

I cry not as I've probably lost more hours of save data in 30+ years of gaming than most younger people have even played in their entire lives. I would give up DayZ tomorrow if I could get back my old Super Monkey Ball 2 records and replays. (That game took more skill than quadruple bypass surgery kids.) My point was, if you want a better PvP challenge with more players and a fully functioning game, I guarantee there are 12 good options besides DayZ where you'll have 100's of other players to shoot at. I'm not here to say PvP doesn't belong in DayZ and I agree it's been thrilling at times when I'm forced into it, but I think this game has far more dynamic gameplay opportunities than just sniping the defenseless.

I was betrayed twice after saving people, and have been sniped while I was bare handed numerous times. I've even flanked a sniper who was waiting to ambush me, and given him a chance to stand down (but he DC'd when I said "final warning"). How some of you have avoided shooting it out PvP I cannot figure out.... I avoid people as much as I can, but inevitably stumble upon someone. Everytime I try to verify "friendly?", I get shot. Now I kill on sight if I stumble upon you, and get the drop on you. If I can avoid you all together, I will. Yesterday I was cornered in a church by 2 players, I ran out of ammo but I was still able to get the upper hand with my axe in close corners. I had no intention of killing any other survivors but I was forced to take those 2 murders on my record just so I could continue my save. I personally believe PvP to be only one small aspect of this game and those who play DayZ purely for the PvP don't appreciate what really makes this game great. Why don't you play a serious PvP FPS, like Battlefield, and leave DayZ to the Zombie hunters. Edit: If/when DayZ plays on large regional or national servers, I imagine the survivors far outnumbering the Bandits and simply overpowering them until they become a small random guerilla force.

the program "Peerblock" will cause similar problems.

There is an even newer beta for arma out (95054), installing the latest BE and running this patch fixed BE error and crash to desktop. You need to run the BE file you download, not just drop it in a folder. 95054 is fairly stable for me since I've done this.

Steam version, was loading with six launcher which I had set to automatically close on loading Arma 2. Then I was logging into servers through the Arma 2 multiplayer menu. I installed 94945, and then 94997. Now it seems the only way I can get 94997 to launch is through six updater, and then I experience the battleeye error. I tried copying the latest battleeye to all folders involved but I'm not 100% sure I did this correctly.... Looking at the servers it seems to me that I am in the majority of people/servers that have not installed the new patch for one reason or another. Is it possible the 94997 patch needs to be scrapped all together? I guess it should be obvious by now that 94997 has some major fatal flaws.... or did I fail at life when trying to patch? :wacko:

i skipped an update not realizing there is a 94945 as well. try that one first, then apply the next one. currently i have figured this part out and I now am experiencing the battleeye ini failure....

Of course we all want to see MORE guns in the game but my idea is a modification to an existing weapon. I would like to see a vice in a factory, where I could hold a double barrel shotgun, while I saw off the barrels with a hacksaw, and this weapon should then be able to be holstered as a side arm as well as primary weapon. Also I believe it would be good to add the ability to empty both barrels of the shotgun whether sawed off or otherwise for maximum damage. And then of course there's this 4 barrel beauty from Phantasm 3....

So why don't you go play one of the 8973465 FPS games that only have PvP? The human race does not have priorities. If we all had sane priorities we would work together to improve life for all. Each individual human does however have priorities, self serving and often malignant. And look at how well this planet gets along! Such is life, such is Day Z. People are diseased with corrupt psychological genetics, and corrupt traits learned by the examples of thier peers and mentors.

After being killed by people I have just saved, and been killed while asking "friendly?", the shoot first ask questions later policy is my new thought process. If you are carrying a weapon, and I get the drop, and can't safely run away, I will likely shoot you. I commited my first murder today. I felt a little better when I searched the body to find he had almost identical gear/weaponry. I'm glad someone actually helped you. I consider the encounters where players don't try to shoot me to be positive ones.

i've half come around to this thinking. if a guy is bare handed, and i have one bandage i won't attack. having any weapon in hand makes you fair game. i'm all for a humanity mechanic, but maybe it could be balanced. strengths and weaknesses for both.

Same. The graphics render and then fade to black, and render, and fade to black again, over and over and over.... I really wish people would update the servers more often as well.

Online game hackers must be a group of the biggest RL vaginas EVER. This is one of the main reasons I usually don't play PC games online, unless it's with friends. Consoles and handhelds have hacking, but it rarely gets to the scale that PC games get hacked.

I have only been playing for less than a week but I definitely noticed problems in the zombies programming with this update. In fact, I've seen most of the glitches people are reporting, first hand. I do have faith that the problems will be fixed. Someone who makes such an awesome game would not likely let it fall apart.

I'm Will ingame and in RL, I'm 34 from NY and I've been a fan of survival horror since importing Japanese Biohazard for PS1. My younger brother told me of this game and I've been hooked for most of a week now. I would say that my experience with other players has been evenly split between helpful and hurtful. Soon I would like to try some Co-op with others (once I get teamspeak running properly). Awesome game, many thanks to all who worked on this game and the community/boards to help make it so great.
