Real time info on players in the Dayz web

A leaderboard is already in place but, "....have been temporarily disabled." as per dayzmod.com. I think the stats will be accessible via the website/forums, and a simple leaderboard will be provided. If I'm not mistaken, Rocket touched on this in the Rezzed video.

    Game stops at loading screen

Sooo many threads for this..... I was wondering just how wide spread this problem is, I guess it's pretty common. Here I posted a quick way to roll back to 95417: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/68165-dayz-was-working-fine-now-its-stuck-on-loading/

    Stuck on loading screen.

    Stuck at loading? Try this.

So correct me if I'm wrong but if I just wait for Six Launcher to push out the correct files the new patch will work without going through your process? Right now I'm manually patching 95417 "over" the files that Six Launcher verifies..... and then launching the game.
  5. If you're using Six Launcher and 95883 gets stuck at loading (like me) there is a way to temporarily roll back to 95417 or a patch that works for you. Load Six Launcher. Verify. Manually patch to earlier version (95417 still works well for me). Launch game. Give me beans. (You have to do this every time you load.)

    Finding Vehicles Useless

A tractor is fine too, it has good off-road but only seats 1. But it beats the heck out of walking! That being said I've been playing for over a month; I'm a lone wolf mountain man sort who avoids PvP for the most part, and I've come across more than a few very large camps, and even more vehicles. I also play on low pop servers and scour the northern areas as suggested above, this seems to work really well if you have some patience. 4 tractors, 2 bicycles, 3 pickup trucks, 2 buses, 1 SUV, and just the other day a pristine fully fueled Motorcycle with 2 jerry cans in storage was found just perfectly perched on a hill just before debug plains. Buzzing the NW airfield wearing NVG's doing 90mph watching the bewildered survivors gawk as I plow through zombies..... I must have lapped the map 4 times that night, good times, good times.... Shitty server reset made me lose that bike while riding it. P.S.: to keep a low profile just avoid the roads in high PvP cities and areas. Driving through the woods with most vehicles isn't too tough.

    Stuck on those loading screens....

Also, if you're like me 95883 doesn't work! Load Six Launcher. Verify. Run beta patch 95417 manually. Launch. Hand me beans.
  9. Thanks. 'Tis thread worthy Zambeezee, maybe I'm just jelly I didn't think to make it myself. :P

    PC Overheating

My rig is now over 2 years old, and was not top of the line. My CPU never seems to be a problem, but beginning this summer my GPU (GT 240) began overheating. I used a program called Kombuster to verify this and it was obviously my GPU, games like Skyrim, and Dirt 3 really fried the thing. Apparently the temperature in my room make a big difference when it comes to my GPU (as stated above). I also have a cooler master case, and I make sure to clean as much dust out as possible regularly. But, the only way I found that am able to play for extended periods of time this summer was to pop open the left side of the box and I put a Honeywell brand turbo blade desk fan (very strong fan) right up to the opening in the case. I haven't had an overheat problem since.
  11. I posted this last night in the 95883 thread.....

    Arma 2 beta patch 95883

If you're using Six Launcher you can effectively roll back to 95417 by opening the launcher, verifying, then patch to 95417, and launch.

    Arma 2 beta patch 95883

Me too. :( Everything seems to load fine and then freezes on "Loading" with no progress bar. Halp?

Is it luck? or is it not that common?

It depends on your "play style". It took me a month to see a hacker, but I'm pretty sure I saw one now. If you want to have more PvP, camp certain high traffic areas. Cherno, Electro, Balota Airfield, NW Airield, etc. I personally spend as little time as possible in those areas to avoid all the player killing. Currently Day 7.....

    Traders and Traitors

Great job with this thread. You also display a lot of patience with all the people trying to add themselves, when the rules make it clear that it isn't allowed. And to answer someones question from before, a new trader would have to try to trade with established traders, or find a player willing to make a post on the forum after a successful trade, to build their own cred. If I ever can bring myself to part with my lucky satchel charge, this list could come in handy. Bear meet Beans. Edit to say: The name of this thread could be, "Traders and Traitors".
  17. At approx 2:50pm EST I logged into US1888 "Paradise" with only maybe 5 others playing and after loading I was shown a brief perspective from the grass as if I had been killed, then the green death stats screen popped up, and the game said I was killed. Following that the game loaded itself, and I was immediately teleported to debug plains with no items standing next to a female survivor who was in freelook shaking their head, or looking around. I quickly logged out, and into another server to find myself at a common spawn point like a new spawn, but I thankfully had all my days, kills, and gear. I'm not sure if this is relevant but I did have to force my computer to shut down during my last game of DayZ on this same server when my video card overheated. I think this is just a coincidence though, I don't think a game crash would send you to debug with another character.....

    Press "Space" to continue

I like this idea. Have some beans.
  19. I've done well to avoid them altogether for nearly a month now. High pop/PvP and clan servers are usually the main targets of the script kiddies. Avoid those servers and you improve your chances for a "clean" game.

    Fighting the Fourth Dimension

Sucks. Hopefully a solution to hopping will be implemented before the stand alone.

    Deer stands with no loot?

Could possibly have been looted prior to you arriving. Could be spawn lag or random bug. Or no loot was supposed to spawn.

    Global Bans for legit players?

I recently decided to stop manually updating and wait for Six Launcher to do an auto update. I believe Six Launcher doesn't push out a patch until it's confirmed working properly.
  23. I only just found my first pair of NVG's in a camp. For me I found it's the only way I can tolerate the game at night. I find the constant gray scale of regular night to be terribly boring to watch. At least in green I can make things out. Buzzing the NW airfield and Electro on a motorcycle with NVG's on, watching the other players scatter as I agro the zombies = good fun.

    slow positive health regeneration.

I like that, but it should definitely be very very slow. I also believe you shouldn't dehydrate for three days. Or die of starvation for 10!
  25. ☣BioHaze☣

Just got sniped at the NW airfield full of loot.

Try to have some fun gearing up. Find a camp, steal some loot, and a vehicle. You'll be out transfusing blood again in no time.
