Thanks, devs and all involved! I'm really looking forward to experimenting on this new test bed and beginning the iteration process anew! Feature by feature we will bork what you make, make you do it over, change it, demand polish for it, and guide your cheeto stained fingers to coding an exhilarating and ever fluid experience. ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ GIVE SA .63! -
I salute you guys for still playing.... I was burnt out on .62 a looooong time ago. Anyway, glad you found something you like to keep the motivation to play going. DayZ has pretty much only known controversy and adversity so sadly that's nothing new. It takes people who understand the process and believe in the development teams vision and skills to weather the storm.

Thanks devs, all. Sorry to hear you were.... infected. I have been on a long break from DayZ holding out for .63 and it seems the wait will be a fair amount longer still. SO much great stuff to look forward to! -
Us Experimental crew are not the typical player. You guys know this. Random is as random does.

Maybe it's simply a case of your button clicks registering in the game and in the browser at the same time. You're typing fan fiction or browsing that adult content and you press enter. Voila, you've posted to fetish for Coulter dot com and logged into your last server.

Yup, yup, yup. Not worth expending too much energy thinking about at this time. I'm hoping I can hold off any hardware upgrades until we are far into Beta or longer! There will likely be hardware configs that will prove themselves best suited for DayZ once things are further optimized.

[Dev] Eye zoom 'probably' being removed entirely

Thank you very much for a response @RaptorM60! I had a feeling a few off the cuff comments was a little too much to get upset about just yet. -
[Dev] Eye zoom 'probably' being removed entirely
☣BioHaze☣ replied to -Gews-'s topic in General Discussion
I have a feeling they are likely following the discussions on this topic on here and Reddit and are exploring their options further. A lot is set to change and soon, this transitional period is a pivotal time at which these features and adjustments will be cemented so I think the player feedback has to be considered as much as ever. I would be surprised if eye zoom is just brushed to the side. I think they would have to offer some really solid proof that it's detrimental to the game to justify taking it away. -

I want to see any of you run full tilt while looking over your shoulder for more than a second. -

I think not sprinting everywhere will change how people scan the environment making zoom scanning at full sprint less useful. If you're jogging or walking you'll scan more thoroughly. I do still want the zoom but I'm just offering a little perspective on how things may change. -

As much as I want the zoom left in, citing upvotes from Reddit won't bolster the point imo. That same percent wants 3PP untouched and I think 3PP especially in its current form needs to go away forever. Just say no to RTS zombie avoidance strats. -
Lone ranger? "Pilgrim", you missed an opportunity....

I do not have trouble finding them in feeding shacks (what you're calling small hunting stands), but I have also found them in the all plywood "garden sheds" fairly often.

I definitely go by actions before appearance. I have met neutral players dressed in full mil gear and been randomly attacked by players dressed as civilians. The red does looks like a Russian gang possibly to me; if I saw you first in all red I would likely run away.

Anyone left who likes jogging instead of sprinting?
☣BioHaze☣ replied to Jock McScottish's topic in General Discussion
I sprint a lot but mostly because it doesn't effect stamina yet. I look forward to using jog which makes the map feel bigger and vehicles more important. There will be people who still try to sprint as much as possible and part of me hopes it bites them in the ass. :P -
We are the immune. Maybe a mod will include something similar.

Removing the Destroyer of Vehicles (one type of tree)
☣BioHaze☣ replied to Ian McGuinness's topic in Suggestions
These tress are in now to create a more realistic forest floor. You should not be able to off road with all vehicles and in the future some vehicles that should be able to drive over these will likely have the capability. The V3S, an off road pick up truck, and an ATV, will likely be the best to deal with these once physics are updated. -
Thanks devs, all! I'm happy you had positive feedback from the people at the convention and I'm very excited to get my hands on beta. The current mantra of, "the only way out, is up", is the best way to look at the progress of the SA. Making good on features and bringing polish and user feedback into the project is going to restore a lot of faith from the community and create another wave of interest in "the little alpha that could" (DayZ). Those of us who are dedicated and passionate about this project share a sense of pride with all new milestones and my faith is only bolstered by the improvements seen in the demo. I feel like I'm standing in front of a dam with an ever growing crack and when beta hits, I'll be washed away. Cheers and zombie tears! *Empty bottles and cans, just raise your hands! Molotov needs cocktails like a zombie horde thirsts for the cleansing lick of flame!

He traded time spent on the official forum for Reddit and they eventually flamed and trolled him until he had a meltdown and left social media altogether.

[Dev] Eye zoom 'probably' being removed entirely
☣BioHaze☣ replied to -Gews-'s topic in General Discussion
It may not be as much of a game breaker for me but I do think it was a good way to compensate for the limitations of hardware. -
Remember what Reddit did to rocket? I do....

I think the short answer here is that all of the legacy bugs you're most concerned with had to wait for the new renderer and the modules being merged before they got fixed. We all have our pet bugs and glitches but we don't have the same perspective on priorities that the devs have, and at some point you have to try to trust them that it will get done and stay engaged with the process, or walk away from DayZ for a while and maybe return later once more bugs are squashed.

No, it's not. Things are often developed for years before announced to the public in large studios and some large games have taken the better part of a decade to complete. Your concerns may be valid but your perspective on what's "acceptable" from BI and what's considered reasonable in the industry is unnecessarily negative and doesn't seem to have much of a point or constructive line of thought. Will you want your money back if DayZ "fails"? What do you think modding will do for DayZ overall? How many leagues are there in a furlong?
