The last few months have been somewhat trying for me. As weird (pathetic?) as it may sound DayZ SA has been like a little light at the end of the tunnel. The birth of our infected child will bring great joy to my existence. My body is ready. My body is ready. My body is ready.

Nostalgia. I used to love flying around on the dirt bike (it's a dirt bike not a "motorcycle"). People would try to snipe me but no one succeeded. Buzzing the airfield during the night with headlights out and night vision goggles on was a fun pass time....

Legally, but not mentally/emotionally. Mental maturity is around 25 by most modern psych standards. Sadly, some people never get there no matter how long they live. ~~~ It's getting close. I can smell the apocalypse redux.

Only if you hang them properly. Fat people can be decapitated by their own weight. Skinny people can choke and die if they don't fall far enough. It's a little too KKK for my liking really. There are plenty of ways to kill in DayZ, without hanging. *Bonus: Listen to the album "Those Once Loyal", thank me later. Epic brutality, grooving with Satan. Chick bass player has bigger balls than you.

There will likely be hiccups and headaches along the way but Rockets vision will be realized. Those of us who appreciate his vision for DayZ and understand even a little as to what goes into making such in-depth experience can exercise some patience while we wait. That being said, when it's released I will calmly start the download and slowly step away from my computer and then proceed to run around my apartment screaming like a maniac.

Nice. Done with subtlety as described above, some additional "random light gore" would be great. Older corpses strewn about in different states of decay while creepy as fuck, aren't adding much to the game except for initial impact. Some decent gore in regards to violent trauma would be nice. You should be able to chop or shoot off an arm, leg, or head, with the appropriate weapon....

Sheesh, it seemed fine when first posted.

Optimize settings. Map weirdo lefty key scheme. Familiarize myself with menu systems. Die 50 different ways before learning how to survive 50 different ways. Find people who aren't murderous thugs. Find a place to hol' up for awhile. Make things, kill zombies, SURVIVE the horror. Sorry, got carried away....

No quadrant unsearched. I have found amazing camps and many a pristine vehicle when I go out of my way to search the most remote areas. I guess being a thief is the "worst" thing I do in DayZ. I've laid in tall grass watching guys patch up a truck in their camp and then drive off in other vehicles. I just ran in behind them and took the truck like it was mine. If someone shot me while looting their camp, I always thought I could accept that as a reason for PvP.

I have had many many people in sights and not pulled the trigger. I've had many run ins with people where we both backed away rather than pull the trigger. When I was a lone wolf with a 28 day character (no pun) I tried to confirm friendly and was attacked. I was so unaccustomed to PvP that I choked and didn't fight back and almost bled out before I could find cover. I firmly believe that the SA will attracted more survivors than murderers and the murderers will find themselves terribly out numbered with almost no one they can trust. At least this is what I hope for. If you really want to prove PvP skill then playing a game where the best PvP players play would be your best test. Most of the other online shooters have many many more experienced PvP players and have game engines tailored to PvP.

I like to think that Zombies only crave FRESH MEAT still wriggling on the bone....

Why would zombies be attracted to rotting garbage? This I don't agree with at all. Animals yes, infected rage zombies, no. That being said the core idea makes perfect sense. I think certain items should be more likely to be in usable condition. Often people throw away clothes that are perfectly usable, including shoes. In a garbage truck or even garbage can there should be at least a miniscule chance for nearly ANY loot. People don't just throw things away in garbage cans, they stash stuff in them too....

That could have been anything that took the chopper down and there was certainly some kind of lag related shenanigans....

Basically this. If ammunition is super scarce you will think twice about firing. Melee murders will probably be how people pvp and "KoS". Now being a murderous asshole will take more skill and cunning. You will not have access to hacker boxes full of DMR mags. You will be wondering why you have to pack every magazine with separate bullets you've found and wondering what you might do for "fun" now that you can't just fire rounds all day.

As a lone wolf I almost never choose to interact with random players. One day as I putted around in my Tractor I saw a survivor with an Enfield running from zombies into a barn. I pulled over, dispatched the zombies outside, and called out "friendly" in direct chat. A startled and relieved british fellow proclaimed friendly back. I rushed into the barn, wasted the last couple of zeds and offered him his pick of any items in the tractor inventory. The genuine level of awe and thankfulness was palpable as he stated, "That was the single coolest thing that's ever happened to me in DayZ. Everyone else just shoots me in the face when I meet them." I proclaimed that we all aren't dicks and rode off into the fields....

If it comes out on my birthday can it be free for me and delivered by Rocket popping out of a cake with 2 bikini babes and a fresh coldsore on top of a lamborghini?

I'm hoping for october but I'm mentally prepared for december and beyond.

Yes, I'm hoping to make new Zombie friends before Halloween. I think silence from the Dev team is a good thing at this point but what do I know.

I wouldn't mind the text for when I'm hungry to say: "Wizard needs food badly." Seriously though, I would think this is a "no-brainer" (zombie pun?). If there is to be any authenticity at all there can't be floating text to let me know when someone dies. The heads up text in-game will likely be personal, experiential dialogue, which are mostly physical status indicators.
