I'm really looking forward to zombies spawning in from a distance again. Fixing the broken hit detection issues will be incredibly welcome too. I miss sitting on a hill and playing zombie target practice.

Nice first ever rage post. In before graveyard. All known, all sucky issues. "Alpher"

Yes, blurry vision is part of low health but you should also be seeing in black and white if hurt. I believe what he is seeing a glitch. I'm pretty sure it's a well known one too. I experienced this before with a perfectly healthy character. When you adjust graphic settings it clears. What he's talking about has nothing to do with post processing. Edit: The problem didn't fully go away for me until I spawned a new character.

the best general advice i can give RE: tents is, try to find a spot where trees and foliage mask the appearance of your tent from as many angles as possible and hope no one walks directly over it. I've more luck with tents closer to the coast this way in the past than I've had trying to make camps in the north. Just remember, some of us look EVERYWHERE, not just at high value, high %, loot locations.

You can't break something that isn't a game yet. If you think you should leave the DayZ community, you probably should. I fully expect my character to be wiped every time I log in. The time I accidentally wiped all of my Super Monkey Ball replays and Smash Bros data? Now that was tragic.....

Stumbled across one of the new towns tonight. I really like the layout of the newer towns and cities and it's fun to explore somewhere that feels new. No zombies spawned here that I could tell, though there was some loot.

Could have been invisible zombie too, no? -
I've decided that keeping food and canned drinks on me is a waste of inventory. I just eat and drink all pristine and worn things I find and I'm AOK. Balance ain't 'till beta boys.

I'm staying super squirrelly when dealing with current zeds. Just trying to always move in angles and stay parallel to the strike zones if I don't pick them off long before they reach me. I've basically avoided melee for awhile now and I carry the Amphibia S for light quiet close quarter zombie control in buildings in my pack. It's also nice because the ammo is abundant though I do also carry the FNX in a holster for heavier work.

I think there may still be a difference in skills between people who played the mod and those who have only played the SA. Complaining about 3 zombies, and then 3 more? The closer we get to the parameters of gameplay envisioned by Team Rocket, the less room there will be for the strictly PvP set. I want more zombies. I want to watch as my month old character is torn to shreds by no less than 8.

ok then, if it's ALL ruined in just a SINGLE hit, I would say you have a valid gripe, sir. I've not yet (thankfully) lost much of anything important to being hit by a zed.
-
It's not stupid... If they can ruin one piece of cloth in one shape they can ruin another piece of cloth in a another shape. I was wondering when they might turn that on. Now, is there any way to patch a vest?

I expected it to be a bit more, I dunno... bushy I guess? Still really awesome. Thanks for sharing.

/insert jokes RP's invisible zombies like poltergeist is happening. /close jokes Scared the beans outta me when it happened. I'm glad it's only happened once to me. It made me wonder if they could possibly be spawning under the map in a way? Hitting you through the ground, rather than actually being "invisible"? Eh, whaddu I know? Not, much; not much.
-
I believe I have encountered an invisible zombie glitch once myself. Although, if you were upstairs, it is also known that they can hit you through the ceiling below you.

Already I see improvements from the last update. Zombies seem more abundant. I had a good old fashion run for the woods with a few trailing me close behind. It was nice to get my pulse up again. I actually found more rounds for my FNX. I did seem to see a lot of loot but it was mostly damaged or of little value to me. Performance seems about the same for me but I'm currently running fairly low settings to preserve performance on my rapidly aging rig. The complainers need to just go away. Never EVER EVER EVER get attached to your gear. I've been playing this game for 2 years and have lost my gear or character to every possible stupid thing you can imagine. Unfortunately at this stage, it's all part of the experience. Regardless of whether you understand testing, or alpha, you are not MENTALLY STABLE ENOUGH to be involved in a long, precarious, ever evolving, game development process.

^the only blades i have seen are kitchen knives. No bayonets, or combat knives seen that I can recall.

I have been exploring the large sprawling section above Cernaya Polana and have not seen a single zombie. Not one. I thought I heard one yesterday.... Lots of boxes of 9mm and some 00 buck boxes. Piles of 7.62x39 but no boxes of those. I had one pile of 19 in my inventory and then found a single round on a table. :P Not a single round of .45 ACP anywhere in that entire area. Medical supplies were scant. It looked like someone had server hopped to the police station there as no other building was touched in the "city" yet that one building was doors open, looted. :/ Edit: I did finally find 2 boxes of 7.62x39 My sick status that I thought was from accidentally eating bad bacon has disappeared. I'm not sure if food poisoning will go away with time but my character wasn't puking or coughing and only once did it say, "your stomach hurts badly" or something like that. I did only notice that i was "cured" directly after being hit by a zombie. I was thinking it was possible that healing from the melee attack glitched the sick status away. Of course within 20 minutes of realizing i was healthy again, i found charcoal.... I'm being completely snuck up on by zombies like never before. I tried going zombie hunting with my new found ammo stash and got backstabbed by a silent military zombie. The bug where we get hit from super far away or after the zombies are dead is bothersome.
-
I can confirm that I have NOT found any boxes of .45 ammo. I've found 3 FNX mags and some loose rounds as well. Yesterday zed spawn seemed higher but today I looted a large northern city and only merely thought I heard 1 zed. I do feel like scouring the outlying cities and smaller towns for loot has become more beneficial. I was able to find nice little piles of rounds for the SKS in civilian houses and small shops. Antibiotics spawn atop Green Mountain antenna fairly reliably.... Anybody know a good spot for charcoal? I think I ate forbidden bacon.

-_- Sorry, didna mean to derail.... More zombies, yay. I've never seen the neverending stream of spawning zeds glitch. I have seen a consistent 3-4 zombies for every maybe 8-12 houses or so. It's enough that currently, if you have a firearm, you can handle things on your own if you stay alert. I have been chased by an invisible zombie. I have been hit by a zombie underneath me through the floor (construction site). The pathfinding seems to be working pretty well in most regards. I was able to stiff arm past a few zombies that had followed me into a building and exit to disappear into the woods before they could follow out of the building, as it "should be" (IMO). Damage tables for items and character damage seem pretty reasonable to me. Loot tables seem strange or my luck has been strange. I found 4 mosins and 4 double rifles but never found ammo for them over 5 hours. Eventually I found and FNX and 23 rounds, and an SKS which I was carrying 40 rounds for in case I found one.... This update feels the most like the mod to me, to date. Really exciting developments (pun)! Thanks! ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ MOAR

I don't consider sniping people fun or "gutsy" at all. I also don't play DayZ for PvP. FPS PvP action has been old and played out since Goldeneye N64, kids. I enjoy a unique and ever changing experience within broad confines. DayZ can provide that if you don't feel the need to shoot everything when a gun is put in your hand.

I've never had a problem that I couldn't work around until now. Crashing to desktop reliably every 5-15 minutes. I tried experimental branch and rolling back my graphics driver to no avail. *sigh*

My CPU is not overheating, Frosti. Thanks though. I have an old nvidia gt240 and there has been a couple fairly recent updates.... I will try rolling back. Thanks. -
Experimental Branch: 0.48 Discussion

Whatever is causing DayZ .47 to crash for me, is still in this experimental .48. :( I can't play for more than 15 minutes or so at a time before it crashes to desktop. Hoping hotfix for .47 has the answer inside.... *sigh*
