    You do not understand the purpose of experimental branch and you did not read/comprehend the rest of this thread.
  4. My vote just tied the happy's(+1) with the disappointeds. If you threw me into DayZ SA right now (let's call it, exp .50) I would be very impressed by the massive amount of stuff I needed to learn that was completely different from the mod. I believe that seeing the game built incrementally has given us tunnel vision to some extent. If all of the sudden you had to learn, new loot, hunting, fishing, crafting, agriculture, different loot degradation/damage tables, different zed AI and survival mechanics; you might find it wonderfully overwhelming.

    People who mention shoe degradation obviously do not understand the purpose of the experimental branch. Reading comprehension was bad before short form messaging popularity (text/instant messaging) and has only become far worse. :facepalm:

    Does anyone dislike the "no military stuff" agrument?

    I did not come to DayZ just to shoot other players but I do desire military gear. All non-aggressive players do not want to look like Daniel Boon and military gear happens to kill zeds quite well in fact and protect me from damage best. I'm fascinated with the idea of a balanced loot economy and maybe some of the upcoming news with tomorrows release will shed some light on how they are envisioning it's implementation. I for one was hoping that in a "global vanilla loot economy" you might see something like flamethrowers... but maybe only 6 of them in the entire hive.

    Melee will be different after the update tomorrow and will change many times in the months to come. The version of DayZ you are playing is far from complete and is less than 1 year old as a standalone version. Please take time to read the threads on the development of the game.

    Hoping .50 STABLE includes: Fixes for server DC and restart loop issues. Loot respawn working to some degree. Gun drop bug fix. (These are present in the recent experimental builds.)

    Warning, "Alpher". New stable update.... INCOMING! Many game elements will change for all of us TOMORROW. (Zombie hit detection/melee will soon be greatly improved!) I for one am curious to see how many of the bugs we scared out of the build have been exterminated for stable release.

    ^I would guess you are finding other peoples discarded guns. (Edit: ninja'd by Odin) I do not believe they have implemented guns that spawn other than in pristine (or possibly ruined) condition and never with any ammo/clips/magazines/attachments. I just had a session that lasted close to an hour. I was carrying the mp-133 but had some trouble stockpiling ammo for it. I kept finding TONS of .22 rounds and then found a 30 round Sporter magazine! After carrying the magazine and .22 rounds for a long long time and not finding a Sporter I finally found one inside a train car. Shortly after that, I found 3 boxes of shotgun shells and another mp-133 but stuck with the Sporter as I had so many rounds for it. Hunting lodges are sponsored by Emelda Marcos apparently and are filled with shoes of all types. More zeds is great but I found they can still aggro on me from very far away when I am high up on a building or ladder. Zeds seem more confused by door states than before. They do more standing in front of open doors or circling the building that has an open door than just arbitrarily running through walls/doors, which is preferable for the time being. One zombie circled the warehouse I was in over and over and I tried taking pot shots at it with the Sporter every time he passed the door but he was too darn fast. :( Eventually he sort of glitched into standing just to one side of the door and I was able to shoot him dead.

    Wrong internet, pal. Also, this is DayZ, this is your story. No set "end game" content or goals will likely ever be implemented in the "vanilla" experience. Private shards may see this kind of thing in the future.

    I didn't have a single zed walk through a wall or door yesterday. A couple of them stood outside an open door and basically let me punch them in the head.

    flimsypremisePlayer frustration is of no importance in experimental releases. ___________________________________________________ I have had 2 CTD now during inventory manipulation. #2: Opening tuna shown open and unopen can in inventory, eat all tuna in jacket/open can, unopened can is still displayed in my inventory but cannot be accessed for options (eat, eat all, etc), or moved to a different spot with LMB, only shows message "receiving" when right clicked. CTD.

    Server DC was scheduled reset. Lost raincoat, backpack, lockpick, rags, and spawned back in bleeding but I still feel silly losing my first spawn to dehydration, I couldn't believe I didn't come across some standing water on the path I cut through the woods. I had decent stuff to start with too, oh well... :/ But hey.... stealth is back!! Like for real this time! I was able to crouch walk around a standing but seemingly alert zed that was nearly facing me without aggroing him. Freaking sweet. I'm seeing as many as 5 zeds in very small towns, which is great. Led 2 towards an "upstairs only" green house and one seemed to get trapped in the foundation of the house. I sense a few character animation tweaks under the hood of this update maybe? Edit: Yeah, the damage factors are extreme to say the least. I can imagine simple cheap "tennis style" athletic shoes becoming nearly destroyed from running in wet, muddy, sticks and stones type of woods, but only after at least a few days worth of that treatment and constant use. Most boot and rugged types of shoes, even something like a good pair of wellies, can withstand a fair amount of hardcore parkour. Has anyone been bold enough to run on an open road for an extended period to see if shoes don't degrade as quickly?

    Yay birthday update! First ever spawn in with zed blasting away at me. :( Scramble about, find axe, kill zed. Bleeding; t-shirt ruined. Scramble about, raincoat, childrens backpack, lock pick, bandana cap! Rags, stop bleeding, 1, 2, 3.... Server DC. :( I'm hoping the DC every 10 minutes bug isn't back in earnest.

    It was really cool to find a whole civilian gear set in the back of a pick up truck once. As a new spawn I found a seemingly untouched pick up truck with a wool coat, double rifle, childs backpack, and food and drink right in the bed. Of course that "lucky" character was KoS'd but lives spawn on....

    Dropping guns in any way seems really glitched out. Gun spawns may be duping themselves and many people have posted about simply placing them down to have them disappear when trying to carry an extra primary or managing inventory. I picked up my sawed off shotgun from my backpack considering moving it to another spot on my character and changed my mind dropping it back into the same slots and it disappeared instantly. :(

    ^^^Hey, at least you experimented with different ways to play! :beans: A high pop server will often have more people looking for a fire fight (as I'm sure you know). I do often avoid interaction if I can but I do have neutral/friendly encounters fairly often. Part of the fun of DayZ for me is not knowing what will happen next. If you shoot at everyone arbitrarily you greatly reduce the chance for any other type of experience.
