Funny you should mention fun after I just watched "Rocket" (Creator of this mod) say he never designed this mod to be fun. He designed it to be frustrating and agonizing and for determination and will to survive. Theres all kinds of tips available for bypassing detection. For example, just like humans can, they can see you if there staring straight at you, even in crouch. Going prone makes this range a LOT less. And so does moving slowly, as running gives you away from faaaar distances. Like I have said before, this isn't the "Elder Scrolls" where you are the uber l33t shadow of death who can stand in front of peoples faces and not be seen. It takes work, many people complain like this daily, and a few days later, NORMALLY, they are like...Ohh, duh, common sense and practice. It's really easy to find weapons, if you know where to look. (Barns carry shotguns, hatchets, crossbows, military areas carry military gear, grochery stores carry food and basic supplies) Only tips you need: Stay down, stay quite, stay patient.

I find him helpful, and I link to his videos every chance I get.

Having this issue as well, one of my characters (Don't actually play it, log off on any server that forces me to use it) Other servers have my actual played character with all his gear. Also, good job for feeling good about killing someone who was probably only trying to leave the city :P

Not quite enough information, but the 6 gigs will be okay. Only way to truly test it, is to play the free version.

Sure I'm interested, any other contacts besides steam? As I run the game through six launcher or direct shortcuts, steam is just a memory waste while playing to me.

Interesting, I haven't actually seen many threads like this. Probably for the same reason I'm thinking of. It could ether be a trap, or, they could just add you, shoot you and take your gun anyway.

You already gain blood after eating. It's also still in Alpha, new features are bound to come sometime. There will be a stand alone version of the mod, wether this means a port to consoles, hopefully not. Ports are never as good as the original, plus a game like this would be horrible on local hosted servers, they'd go down every few minutes, no one would get a serious go, its just not worth the trouble.

This is due to the bugginess of the current release, try a few other servers and see if it still does this. I have this issue sometimes and it just keeps loading and loading while I sit and listen to the sounds of nature from in-game.

As above, experimenting is the best way to learn, but you can also check the controls, takes a lot less time than waiting for a reply, but people around the forum seem to be helpful enough with only the occasional troll thrown in.

I at very least did the bootcamp in Arma 2 to get a basic feeling of how to use everything, even after 6 days and have been using the controls regularly, I still do the training skills to hopefully touch up my skills a bit, because not all of Dayz is spent killing things.

Most likely if you can't run the game on at least normal, your running under min requirements, they went away because you switched to something your computer can handle, but I'm glad your enjoying your time :3

You can get the GPS (Hugely Rare spawn) And it gives you that moving map. Or you can get the map and compass, compass is a bit of a semi rare spawn, and the maps even more of a rare spawn.

If you are not patient, do not bother though, this game can have you pulling your hair out.

I'm not sure that all of these are cheating, it sounds a bit like bad ping, the servers not telling them to disconnect when they die, so they just re-spawn again.

Hmm, it could also be, your joining older servers, only the servers in bright white will allow you connection (The matching servers) And from time to time, some of those are faulty and still won't allow you connection. But as said as above, it could be any number of problems.

Think of it as a MMO (Basically what it is.) It'll save as you disconnect/Automatically.

Your below the minimum requirements, but it's still possible, you'll just have to download the free version of Arma 2 and test it, most likely you'll be able to run it with decreased settings.

You can't run Six Launcher as admin in the traditional way, you'll have to: Right click > Properties > Compatibility tab > Check the box at the bottom that says run as administrator. If this doesn't work, a quick computer reset should fix this.

I don't know if you can cook on the barrels flames, but you don't need matches to light them.

I'm going to assume the motorcycle flips easier because of less traction (Two wheels) But don't take my word on it, I've never been able to repair one so far.

Crossbows aren't really used for full on face to face combatry, they are silenced distance weapons, and mostly used for Zeds. And it seems, that's the way of the game, if your running into this too much, try a server with far less people. If your wanting to team up with someone I'm more then happy to drop in-game and help out.

Find a map should have been one of your priority's as well when searching the city. Goes hand in hand with that compass. My tip is search grocery stores or other low supply areas, I have come across so many packets of matches.

Should and can are not the same unfortunately. There is that pesky business of all that other hardware that could change his experience playing. Unfortunately there is no guarantee until you actually try.

I personally think its not too realistic. Even if the town was reclaimed from zombies, how does that stop a bullet from penetrating a fellow survivors head? Also, as mentioned all the campers and it would just be abused, people would run for miles off just to get to the town after luring a whole town of zombies away, then quickly make there way around the zombies and back to the city for easy looting. It's just a bad combination of good intentions and no way to fairly implement.
