    Horses are notoriously hard to animate in a convicing way, probably too much work.

    Encourages spray n pray. In other words, we are heading towards cod/bf3 Territory and the whole reason I stopped playing those games, dayz is becoming dumbed down already. 4 body shots to kill a player is unacceptable. And how bizarre that the l85 holo. Now deals 8000k damage. If the reason for the nerfs is to give players better chances of escape then please make available bullet vests rather than this.

    I may have been over enthusiastic when i say unacceptable, i can live with the 5.56 damge right now but pistols and mp5 needs a buff. And yes, i suggested some time ago that zombies should be tougher but may require movement/speed tweeks. Lowing player health is the wrong move IMO, that would start to make the 7.62 rifles look OP and they are perfect right now.

  5. And since there are no millitary vehicles or armored in dayz there is no need for these weapons. If fact, there is no real justification at all for keeping them in, as already mentioned, we removed the AS50 from our server and the game is much better for it, but some people don't care less about that and the crying here is simply self serving, or they just don't understand the issue.
  6. That would be great, but in all these years i can only think of one game that used body "zones" Soldier of fortune. So assuming Dayz won't bring this feature (is it even coming to Arma 3 ?) we have to work with what we have.
  7. Agreed, i think what would work well in dayz was if the top-end sniper rifle did 90-95% DMG to the body, i dont know if there is such a weapon in arma that fits this.... I'm all for a more realistic higher damage model comapared to say BF, but i still think the high end damage should be capped and the lower end stuff, the pistols need a buff.

    Removing this feature is possibly a mistake. The realistic nature of the arma engine means that enemy players are hard enough to spot, the dot gave us some clue but only vague, nothing as obvious as a nametag, but pehaps better than nothing at all. I don't quite understand the logic in removing this feature. .
  9. So, my public character was finally killed on day 164, 818 zombie kills, 1 bandit kill and no murders, i was killed by a hacker that teleported everyone on the server. Did i play all of those days ? of course not, many people play on private hives now and we have two of our own servers, i guess the point is that you can survive pretty much anything in dayz except the hackers, i really hope this situation changes in the standalone. Thats all.

    Well it's no big deal to me really, I was hoping to reach 1000 zombie kills and I'm sure I would have if not for the hacker, I was also aiming to get the humanity up to 5k, that was at 3250. I dont see myself repeating what I did here, just try to have some fun instead of taking it so seriously now.
  11. We removed the as50 from our server and m107 pretty rare but not banned yet. The game is much better without this OP junk, our players agree. Bring back the scoreboard.

    Maybe because people dont play dayz to try and survive anymore, no one cares about their character perhaps only when fully geared with high ent kit does it start to matter, even then most people just want to kill other players because let's face it, there's nothing much else to do. Pretty sad the mod has turned out like this and I hope standalone brings us something more.

    I'd challenge anyone to kill 815 zombies in 1 day and not be killed on the same day or even find enough ammo to reach that target.

    And what do you think the reaction would be over on the BI forums to some dayz player "complaining" that Arma damage values are screwing with the mod ?, feel free to try though.

    I don't know about Cod, but TTK in BF games is pretty low on paper and probably close to arma in harcore mode, but in reallity its not the case because of crappy hitreg and netcode, but this is another story. All i'm saying is i think we should try to keep a realistic feel to the weapons, right now the pistols and 5.56mm seem weak and out of ballance with everything else,, 7.62 snipers etc.

    Well I'm sorry if you are not aware of the facts, but at some point in time the weapons were nerfed, fact. You said that weapons had not changed, perhaps you should think before you post.
