    Yes its obvious i know. But why not, next time i "log in" i fully expect to be in deep sh*T because of these new mechanics.

    "in real life" I lol at how many times I read this in game forums..... And how it's used to justify pretty much anything even if something totally game breaking. Killing for gear- I'd like to see a means of boobytraping your own backpack, or something to remove that incentive.

    Last night i encountered a few zombies and was left with the most ridiculous camera shake that would not go away, i was not infected and i had to tolerate this for about an hour before being killed. Lets not make the mistake of having immersion effects destroying gameplay, it needs to be toned down.

    For the first time ever i feel like not playing Dayz anymore after being shot by one of my own team "just for fun" Leblackdragon is right, this is a clear issue. Consider all the factors the player now has to think about- Zombies Bandits food/water temperature/infection health/broken bones etc The "fear effect" OTT camera shake Ammo/weapons Navigation/night Searching for wood/matches Maybe i missed something... on top but all this you travel for hours sometimes to meet friends only to be shot by some random idiot or yes even your own. Its all starting to look like a confused mess, it has to be said.

    It seems this mod is already carrying way too many variables. My post was not only asking why this effect was everlasting but also that the effect is OTT, seems there are better things to talk about.

    Murders: 122942 Bandits killed: 71257 I only remember being actually killed by zombies once in about 30 hours. Seems people have the wrong idea about this game, but if that's the way is going to be played then fine.

    So its necessary to duplicate an 8GB folder to get this to work ? WTF, i got past that point anyway- Launch Arma2 OA from steam and enable Dayz in the expansions, but still can't join any servers, someone said the character server is down WTF.

    I'm having the exact same problem, have the steam version and followed install instructions exactly. This is using the Arma2 launcher I can't believe theres no replies.
