Limit modding in the beginning
brzator47@gmail.com replied to thefriendlydutchman's topic in Suggestions
No matter what anyones says, it is inevitably going to end up the same way it did for DayZ mod. Fragmented community and 95% of the servers being as close to easy, "fun" deathmatch as possible. -
That's funny considering modding ironically ruined DayZ mod, the best game ever.

DayZ what an epic game !

Here's the thing, they do. You're not innocent and BI are in no way responsible for the amount of cheating scumbags like yourself. -
will i regret buying this game ?

How about don't fucking cheat, especially the first day you got the damn game? Also easy to say and do. -

There is no reason to contact them or post here if you did cheat. Yes, you'll be banned forever. Do everyone a favour and fuck off. -
As is 90% of the player base. Congrats on being special.

I'd like to be able to pour soda/beer into water bottles/canteens.

Remove server player list once in game.
brzator47@gmail.com replied to Roshi (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
I'd be fine with no player list as long as there was a server pop indicator like low/mid/high. That way there would be no way to tell whether or not you're alone on the server. -
Like I said, there is no way around the fact that players have unlimited lives. Locking players out of the server is not an option either. It's still a game, no one would like being forced not to play with their friends. You're absolutely correct that a character's life has to be more important but there are other, much more elegant ways to achieve that imo. Loot locking is not only too gamey and nonsensical, but it's also a very flawed solution.
-
No loot locking please. It's a game with unlimited lives, there is no way around that. If you take away the ablity for players to loot their own body, you just give groups an even bigger advantage. Your friends can always take the loot for you. Lone wolves are screwed. While not ideal, being able to loot your body is not a massive problem and should stay the way it is imo.

Does DayZ need aeiral transport?
brzator47@gmail.com replied to Sike (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Definitely yes, BUT only one civilian chopper per server that takes at least a little bit of skill to fly. Also fixing one up and maintaining it should be pretty difficult and time consuming. -
The problem with the game. My views

Leave the coast man. There's more stuff inland that you could possibly ever need. Finding food and clothing is ridiculously easy. -
Obviously we won't. It IS a game which aims for realism, but like I said, people don't know what realism is. Rocket choose to distance from the word "realism" and used authenticity instead for a reason. There is quite a bit of difference in say making the character speed more realistic vs adding an option to smear yourself with human blood just "because you could do it in RL if you wanted".
-
Yes, I can deny that point. It has nothing really to do with realism. If we were able to pick our noses or scratch our balls that would make the game more realistic, right? But then why can't I adjust car mirrors or key scratch the paint, so unrealistic. It's a game, meaning even if it's the most complex one in existence, it is still infinitely more limited compared to real life. The realism argument is invalid because people don't know what realism is.

He doesn't have a point. This being a game, the amount of possible player actions will always be extremely limited compared to RL. "Because you could possibly do it in RL" is not a good enough reason to spend time implementing something. Terrible idea.
