Yeah, I came to make a post about this and then decided meh...everyone's bitching about it. Anyway, I'm not one to call "HACKER!" at every little oddity I see. No, I reserve that insult only when I have proof.... It seems that there has been a huge influx of hackers in the past week. Saturday, I died from what I think was a nuke as did everyone else in the server. Sunday, I had a gigantic explosion explode on me while I was up in a tower. This wasn't a nade. It was humongous plus there was a wall of fire that went into the sky. Just now I was teleported and exploded by some weird silent item that broke my legs, there was no fire but there was smoke which happened immediately after I had been shooting at two people from 150 m and they both had God mode. They even stood up and stared at me while I was shooting at them. After probably 12 shots, I was suddenly teleported and killed. 2 days ago, the group that I play with all encountered an invisible ghillie. I've encountered the invisible ghillie before, but not in the last couple updates. Supposedly it was taken care of that's why I'm not outright calling this person a hacker (it could have been glitched), but supposedly that glitch was fixed. Mind you, I'm not playing all day either. Saturday and Sunday I played a total of 3 hours and tonight I just played a half hour....so it's not like it's been all these hackers in 20 hours....more like 3.5 hours. ...it's to the point where it's sickening. I've played MW2 since its release back in 2009. My God, everyone called everyone a hacker in that game. I rarely called out a hacker except for those 360 degree spinning headshotting mother fuckers. I've been called a hacker probably 100 times in MW2. My point is, I am not one to call out hackers just for the shit of it. I've never created a topic about hackers in a game. I've always railed against the kids that scream everyone is a hacker because they didn't think they should have been killed. I'm at the point where I'm annoyed as shit and am stopping playing until it's updated. I understand it's an alpha and there will always be hackers, but it's been terrible for about a week. I've even seen stupid hacked shit like a bicycle that would travel 80 mph.

Don't want to accuse my most recent death due to a hacker since I don't know, but I was on top of a roof with one ladder only up to my location. I was prone and there was a small ledge. Suddenly, a huge explosion happened and I saw fire and I died. Now, I know what a grenade sounds like because I've tossed numerous nades...plus you get the ear ringing effect. This was just a massive explosion and I died....no ear ringing and the explosion was huge. I have no idea where it came from. No one else in the server died to my knowledge.

lmao...yeah I've accidentally pressed "V" isntead of "C" near a ledge...and well, you know what happens...

I'd prefer less military grade weapons. They are so easy to find. I want far more shot guns, pistols, revolvers....more of the standard weapon you'll find in many homes. I'd also like some elite weapons like the colt python with a hunting scopre. For these more elite weapons, I'd also like to have to find parts like the barrel or stock and have to assemble them.

I did kill a ghillie sniper with an AS50, range finder, NV goggles right in the heart of Cherno. I was camping on a tall tower. He was camping on a taller tower. He got shot and died. Then I raided him and it was glorious.

OP misses the point. The realistic reason that DayZ is too unrealistic is because it's not realistic. Uninstall.

OP, I'm a murderer in DayZ also! I target all! In fact, my strategy is similar to yours. I spawn, run to the nearest town (either Cherno or Elektro), scavange food and drink, find my lee enfield, or possibly m16 at fire station. Then I go and post up on my favorite spot in either Cherno and Elektro and just camp to kill noobs. It's quite fun. I spend about 10 minutes scavenging for supplies, that's it. Then I go and post up!!

I understand this is alpha, however, I am quite frustrated. I played for about 30 minutes this morning, got to my safe place and logged out. I came back this afternoon and signed in. I was taken to the character selection screen. WTF? Okay, whatever. I come to terms that for some weird glitchy reason, I lost all my gear. I select my gender. I spawn and collect a side arm and a primary. I start scavenging for resources. I met up with a buddy after some time. I disconnected In Solinchnya and left for a while again. I just recently came back and signed back in. This time, I spawned in Electro with nothing. WTF?? I wasn't even taken to the gender select screen, I just randomly spawned in Electro without my gear again. This makes two attempts of logging back in and losing everything. I've been playing for over a month and never had this happen once. This worries me. I don't want to go scavenging again just to lose it all through whatever odd glitch I'm having right now. I'm going to try a different server now.......

Not bitching again, but I just got a random pass out timer while I am inside of a building and I'm still standing up...

Well I did log back into the same server which is when I realized I lost all my stuff. Then I relogged a second time and lost all my stuff again. This is all the same server. Tried a new one and no luck.... oh well.. I'll chalk it up to DayZ alpha state....

Odd, last night I killed 7 people also. There were 3 disconnects...which is quite a high percentage.

I only player kill now. Zombies are just a little minor distraction. I spawn, run until I field food, soda and a Lee Enfield. Then I post up on one of many roof tops in Cherno. I then proceed to kill and collect the victim's loot. Eventually I'll get some good equipment. It's far more enjoyable to player kill than anything else in DayZ....soooo I was wondering, is Arma II similar at all? Do you need to forage for supplies? Is there permanent death? If not, I want a game that is DayZ just without the zombies. On a side note: I camped with my Enfield in Cherno and happened to spot a sniper decked out in a ghillie suit atop one of the tallest structures in Cherno. I lined up my Enfield and took him out. I then raided his body and he had everything. An AS50, rangfinder, GPS, M4...it was amazing and to think I collected all this stuff only about 15 minutes after spawning. It was great.

You and me both. See, the fire fights in DayZ are amazing because you have the potential to lose everything. It actually is somewhat of an adrenaline rush, plus there are so few fire fights compared to other games, that it doesn't get stale. Well, I suppose the reason I haven't tried it is because I was looking more for input first...since there are a shit ton of different mods out there for Arma II. I figured the base game probably isn't that similar to DayZ, so I was hoping people would recommend some mods so I don't have to go downloading and installing all sorts of different ones just to find the one that suits me the best.

You can just mouse over a pack on the ground and select open "pack name" to view inside. That'll show you how many slots it has without picking it up.

Ok, yeah I know there are antibiotics. I want to know if there is another way? I've literally spent hours trying to find antibiotics. I even got desparate enough to server hop. I've been through probably 20 hospitals and haven't found a single antibiotic. Is there another way to cure it? Have they removed spawns for antibiotics in this patch? Fucking annoying, actually.

Don't know why people are claiming they're common... Furthermore, DCing and RCing must not work anymore. I've been server hopping through nearly 20 servers and I still have my sickness....oh and ZERO antibiotics through those servers.

I don't believe he hasn't found a weapon in 3 hours of searching unless he was searching in the grass or forest.
