I'd like to see the addition of forks and spoons to the game, needed for eating without getting your hands all messy and sticky. Currently, we are eating everything with our hands, gloves and then proceeding to handle our guns and ammo with those same hands. I'm no firearms expert, but this can't be a good thing. If I remember correctly, M&Ms were created for this very reason. Melts in your mouth, not in your hands. Whenever I eat a can of something in DayZ, I always think about the The Road Warrior scene where Max get's to neatly enjoy a can of dog food with his big ole wooden spoon and the Gyro Captain is left to lick scraps up off his fingers. The spoon always seemed like a luxury to me in that scene and it could be one in DayZ as well. Eat with spoon or fork = no problem, toss the can and get back on the road Eat with no fork or spoon = Messy, stick hands, requiring a rinse at the nearest stream or pond or else...gun jams may be in your near future

Why? It all tastes the same.

I too would like some pawn immunity. I don't want people stealing my shit and trying to pawn it off so they can continue to feed their drug addictions.

When will persistence actually be full fledged

Ok, I guess you can disregard my last post. I didn't know it wasn't always going to be a choice. -

Doesn't matter. As long is there is a choice, almost every server host is going to set to 'off' so they can replenish mil loot when they need to. Bunch of sorry sacks. -
This is the problem with most of these players. This is not an "online competitive game". There are no leaderboards. There is nothing to win, yet almost everyone still plays with this overly competitive nature. It's not your fault though. You've been conditioned to be that why by every other online game you've played over the past 10 years. It's a sickness, but you can do something about it. You can fight it. Just let go.

Why do I get the impression that this whole discussion takes place due to the bugs that occur around dropping in hand weapons. In game development bugs do eventually get fixed and when dropping a gun on the ground in front of you to unsling the one on your back is smooth, fast and reliable, this won't bother you so much.

Holy shit, just play the f n game. Run around and loot, you find what you find. Today's gamers, I swear, it's like going through a Where's Waldo book and having someone else show you where he is. Sorry, had to be said.

I guess you haven't noticed, but there's definitely been a pattern in the last 3 or 4 exp versions where the first exp CL is hard with hard to find food, rapid decay of hydration and energy and then the next CL goes back to what we're used to on stable with food everywhere and never any risk of starvation. They go all one way and get some data, then flip the switch and go all the other way. And this is a feedback thread, so it's not about getting used to it one way or the other. Though you can't deny that they are allowing the general player base to get used to it ONE way. It's about giving feedback on what my preferences are between the 2 CLs we've gotten so far on this version of exp, along with a suggestion of making multiple exp CLs live at the same time which could be done by making them backwards compatible. Party on, Wayne. -

When you do a hardcore patch and an easy mode patch, it would be cool if you left some servers on the hard version. I much preferred yesterday's build to today's. I'm already stuffed, 1 minute after a spawn west of electro. I guess I should add... Or did I get an extremely lucky spawn? -
Do we want to make the default radio channel the universal radio channel? I've yet to ever contact anyone on the radio, but I still try from time to time. The main prob is the battery dies pretty quick if you just leave it on, if I'm not mistaken. So I usually try every 20-30 mins or something. I guess I'm not really leaving much of a window open for contact.

The rate in which a player dies of starvation is an insult to starving people everywhere and those that have starved to death. I'm OK with food being more rare, if you're allowed to live long enough to overcome the problem. What's even worse is when you die of starvation within an hr of gameplay when you've eaten 2 cans of tac bacon, 1 can of sardines, an orange, a kiwi and a banana. That's just called going full retard. I think they should be aiming for an hour of gameplay for each stage; hungry(yellow), hungry(orange) and starving. Also, maybe they should try something more along the lines of making people weaker as they get hungrier and hungrier, start to throttle their top speed. This is experimental isn't it? Start experimenting. -
The Best survival and hunting Tool for DayZ

I don't know about you guys, but for me it's my noggin' -
They're all from the mod and most of them when it was pitch black, the kind of memories that you all rob yourselves of.

Well, probably closer to the definition of "addiction", unless you're just referring to the fact you bought something that will be free once it's been fully developed. DayZ supporters get 50% off during development, while H1Z1 supporters get, well....a long, hard shaft I guess. =P -

When you view the exp servers in the server list on stable you will see the state the server was in at the time of the crash, time of day and number of players. -
Does anyone know of a truly stealth player on YT or Twitch?
jubeidok replied to RAM-bo4250's topic in General Discussion
I feel ya, man. I'm very similar in my approach. I play games for me and how I like to play them, not to please others. My videos are more about pure uncut gameplay and playing within the spirit of the game. So in a boxing game I try to make it look like a boxing match, in a hockey game I try to make it look like a hockey game. You won't see me jumping and shooting and doing the good ole a,d,a,d,a,d in a shooter. I try to just show people what it's like to actually play the game. But ya, like you, they are mainly for something that I can go back and view later and reminisce. -

You can't be a stealthy player if you stream, you just get consistently stream sniped. I had a couple of stream stalkers actually. Got annoying so I eventually stopped streaming my DayZ journeys and what do ya know, my average life span skyrocketed again. Making vids for YouTube though, I guess that's still an option. -
Please don't duck with the current 'Hardcore' mode.

Greed is what prevents this from happening. This is why EA sports games are so shitty, because the idiot that doesn't know how to play said sport has to be able to play said sport because he bought the game, regardless of him being an idiot that doesn't know how to play the sport. -
Has a lack of UI actually decreased immersion in DayZ?
jubeidok replied to scriptfactory's topic in General Discussion
The OP comes off as rather pretentious to me. I'm sorry, what AAA FPS are you currently working on? It's cool to have your own ideas, suggestions and your own vision of how you'd like things to be, but you present them in a manner that comes off as: "OMG, I'm such a better designer than these guys!" I'm sorry to call you out like that, OP, as you also seem like someone you can have a mature design discussion with. It's just how I felt reading your posts. In the end, I'm looking forward to the bigger publishers entries into this genre. They most likely wont understand what made DayZ a success and it will be cool to see just how 'gamey' they can make it. -
I have a few more you can add to your list if you really want to be like me... - drop everything you start with every time you spawn, earn everything - never play on servers with less than 20 peeps, try to join full servers every time you play - when being forced to play on 3pp because of above rule, stay in 1pp, accept the disadvantage - always shoot zombies first, melee is for when u run out of ammo and never use fists...that's just wrong

Hilux/Datsun junk yards, your One Stop Shop
jubeidok replied to sachad's topic in General Discussion
It's been that way for a very long time. I think junk yards need their own loot table or something. These should be where you go to find "junk", the kind of stuff you may need for crafting something; like lose pieces of rope, stuff to burn, parts for vehicles and so on. A destroyed truck on the side of the road still having something like a Mosin in it, that I can buy, but not one that has been hauled to a junk yard. -

I swear, the implementation of these trucks has been like watching a kid have more fun playing with the box than the toy that was in it.
