.55 loot, I'll just leave it at this.
jubeidok replied to billyangstadt's topic in General Discussion
Not quite sure what has caused the amazing loot-stravaganzas at outhouses. Maybe just a bug in newly placed spawn locals or surface area + number of spawn points? I've noticed the same thing occurring in the green guard towers at mil bases, which have about the same surface area as the outhouses. You go up there and it seems like 1 or 2 items piled on top of each other, but start removing them and you'll soon discover that there may be 6-10 items there, all in one spawn point. . Either way, it can't be healthy. I swear I accidentally ate some shit along with the beans I found in one of these overload outhouses. -

LOL. Ya, I guess I'm no stranger to a good ole rant here and there, eh. And there's still plenty to go off on ,but for now I'll just enjoy stealthin' some zeds and keeping my rag supply up. =) -

OK, that explains it. Thanks for the reply. I've made due with easy mode for well over a year now, I suppose I can hang in there a little bit longer. =P -

How come there's new loot every time you restart the server? I thought persistence was on. Here I am thinking I have a good run going on, finding some nice unlooted spots. After a few days though, I realized I was getting things easy because the entire server is being repopulated with loot. If you guys are cheesing something out, not cool, man. Not cool. -

Who's hoarding all the batteries? One of the few things I've yet to stumble across. Not sure what some peeps are doing wrong. There's still plenty of canned food to live off, have yet to be forced into hunting or fishing. I've played both existing and new characters on a mix of public and private servers, all between 30-40 players. Just so you know, you're not going to find anything if you keep circling the same 3 houses over and over again hoping to catch some loot spawning in. Ok, so that's probably not what you're doing, but it sure sounds like it from the amount of "I can't find anything" posts. Zombies aren't hard. They're easy to out smart, lock up or lock out. Bullets to the head work wonders against them, even the wee .22s. It's quite satisfying to be able to sneak around a town taking zeds out with a silenced weapon again. And they respawn at a good enough rate to keep you busy when you feel like hunting them. If you don't have anything that fires bullets yet and have to take one on with a melee weapon; don't panic, take your licks, finish it off and bandage up. That's the pattern that any DayZ vet knows oh too well. You'll struggle for a bit, your health will be low then you will be back to seeing brights again and before you know it, you'l be all the way back down in a grey scale. It's part of surviving in this game and it's feels really rewarding every time you get your vision back at 100%. The game finally resembles something close to what we had with the mod. -
In real life you would do the exact same thing you are doing in the game; freaking out, panicking and flailing away not getting much done on the way to meeting your fate.
-
Wow, look at all this crying. Now that feels like the DayZ I remember! Pro Tip: Zombies are not a problem if you decide to pull out that gun instead of <insert melee weapon> Pro Tip: You can also try and out smart those zeds. They're highly emotional and not too bright.

LOL. Yup, it was bound to happen with a post like that. Between this and a boxing forum I visit, I have been seeing far too many "there doing this" and "there doing that". I just couldn't take it any more. I'm not perfect either, but lets keep it on the DL. They'll never notice.

Another thing I'd like to point out, in this thread and many others is the shear amount of people on forums that don't know the difference between 'there', 'their' and 'they're' or 'your' and 'you're' is a pretty good indicator of why games get dumbed down for the masses. Just sayin'.

starvation and dehydration ridiculously unrealistic
jubeidok replied to anarky321's topic in Suggestions
Spawn in fresh and sit in one spot. You die of starvation in about 15 minutes. From 'hungry' to 'death' in 15 minutes is ridiculous, no matter how many cans of food there are. The constant drive to stuff your face at every avail moment has been an issue for me all the way back to the early days in the mod. In nearly a year and a half of early access development they have not once experimented with a much slower rate of decay coupled with less food around the map to see how that affects player tendencies. I would also like to point out that there are only 50 people left of a population of probably over 100,000 across Chernarus(I'm sure some fan out there knows the exact number). So that's food for 100,000 people all of a sudden divided among 50 people. Obtaining food would not be an immediate concern of this scenario. Long term, yes. Short term, no. Now, if they feel it is absolutely necessary to make it so we can die of starvation within 15 minutes of spawning, then just start us in the 'starving' state. I'm sure no one is going to complain about that time frame if they know they are starting out in a near death state. Or at least not as many. -
Can you please reduce the US servers down to 1 of each? Force these sissies to play together.

Does anyone proof read before they submit?

What do yu want in DayZ servers these days?
jubeidok replied to sneakydudes's topic in General Discussion
So what I gather, is most of you want the end product. I would think that would be obvious simply based on the fact you bought into early access. All I would like from a server now-a-days is for it to be populated by real players instead of all the sheep running the coast. -
This highlights another problem with early access development and that's using the the statement as a scapegoat. Yes, alpha is a good excuse for things like bugs and incomplete systems or things that have yet to be implemented, but it is not an excuse for why we haven't had to change the way we play for over a year. About the only thing that has changed is where we find automatic weapons.

A huge part of this thread seems to be about a guy who prefers playing 1pp, but plays in 3pp for the sake of his stream due to player numbers on 1pp vs 3pp. To that I say, can't you just play in 1pp on a 3pp server? I do it and since you sound as experienced in the game as I, you can too. I will not accept the argument of doing so gives the rest of the server an advantage over you because it does not. If someone is intent on parascoping from behind cover like a coward, you can't see them in 3pp or 1pp so there is no difference. The only difference is that you choose not to. You choose to take on that extra level of challenge, thus making the game a little more intense, no? As for the direction of the game, I have one main concern; the producers. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the producers on this project are in over their heads. Everyone else is good to go, but the ones deciding the schedule and keeping the team and project on track are dropping the fucking ball. It's just one bonehead decision after another with very little iteration from one update to another. To me, it doesn't matter what you say is coming, it matters what you show me. The only thing that matters to me as a player is what goes into every new build that gets released, because that's what I get my hands on, that's what I learn from, that's what teaches me the game. What's currently in the game is what dictates how I go about tackling any given situation. I image it's the same for most of you too. So what they are doing is playing a dangerous game. If you have the run speed at a ridiculous 42kph for over a year, what do you expect from a player base that has been conditioned to that when it gets taken away? Will you be expecting positive feedback at that point, does anyone? What do you think will happen when a million players who are being preconditioned to finding canned food in every other house all of a sudden can't find shit? What happens to the voice of 1 million pseudo fanboys when their average life span drops from 1.5 hours to 20 minutes? This is a major factor of early access development and something I don't think the producers are lending much thought to; player patterns, tendencies and habits. You are forming them, right here, right now at this stage of development and 1.25 years in as awfully long time to get set into your ways. I don't know about you, but I don't want to be anywhere near these forums if and when these major changes start to occur. PS. I will never get over just how many things they felt were more important to get into the game ahead of lots and lots of zombies.

Spend more time in school, listening and less time on video game forums.

Having the same issue, haven't figured it out yet. I'll post back if I do. I also had this issue with BP and fixed it, turned out to be an issue with having to enter a game through arma3 rather than the launcher

Exp Update: 0.55.126884 Discussion
jubeidok replied to eugenharton's topic in PC Experimental Updates
OK, this could have just been coincidence, but maybe not since Eugen has stated that the crash is related to the new AI. If you want the servers to stay up longer, always make sure to activate/alert zombies before you kill them. I tried sneaking up on one for stealth kill and smashed it's head with a pickax, it then turned around and played a reaching out animation that I hadn't seen yet. It could not hit me and I couldn't hit it anymore and within seconds the server went down. Did my actions cause it? It sure felt like it. [Edit] Based on where I logged in, I'm gonna have to say it was just a coincidence. Sorry, move along now. -
Have you ever run into the only other guy on the server?
jubeidok replied to IgnobleBasterd's topic in General Discussion
You're all a bunch of sissies. I'm glad that there seems to be some peeps putting their cheats to good use by policing these empty servers. -
Ya, it makes me wish they didn't release new additions to the map bit by bit and instead kept it all internal until all the new stuff was complete, then releasing a huge new map update all in one drop. That way at least half the map would be all new to us. This would of then allowed them to swap the spawn points to the new half, allowing vets to feel lost again. For a while at least.
-
There will always be some people that insist on taking the easy route, cheating themselves of an experience. Oh well. I had a good time learning how to find myself in foreign terrain using the map and compass back in the mod. Two items I'll never have a need for anymore though as I've played so much by now it's impossible to get lost. A new map a year or two down the road would be really cool.

...that your artists rendition of a hockey stick is an insult to Canadians around the globe! Did they use one of those lil souvenir sticks that they give away to all the kids at the game for reference? I'm really surprised that more Canadians haven't spoken out about this. Don't be scared my fellow Canucks, let your voices be heard! We will not stand for poor renditions of our beloved hockey sticks!!!

Now see, this one was worth reading. Kudos mofo!

Hey, I thought that's what the whole thread was going to be. It's kind of funny how the make believe responses have gotten more love than the ones with video proof. Maybe there's still a market for text adventures after all. And yes, it's true, my ego is a little hurt that you're not praising me. =P

Cannot use an improvised suppressor with a mosin compensator
jubeidok replied to trev186's topic in General Discussion
Does it suppress the muzzle flash though? I haven't tried on the Mosin yet, just the SKS, but I don't know the answer to this either way because no one plays in these pathetically bright nights.
