Did you read the wall of text. In it I stated that the vessels could simply be trading vessels that were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Or they could be evacuation vessels that were abandoned. This would make sense in the setting. During an apocalypse it is possible that people might resort to piracy to survive. There are many ways a ship could get destroyed and abandoned. In DayZ it is your story so Rocket isn't going to tell you how you got on the beach. For me I could say that I was a refugee trying to flee on a large boat that got destroyed. I drifted up on shore and woke up and that is how I started my DayZ adventure. Wrecked ships fit into the setting very well.

The arma engine is great but yes is does cause the zeds to weave. Also I f you want to play tactical PvP play arma 2. Every one has a gun, you can play as a team, and no zed obsticles. -

Locked buildings would be interesting. But wouldn't breaking in be easier than finding a key then trying to find the house that it goes with. I like your winter concepts. -

I dont think there needs to be more of the infected. Firstly, they NEED to be able to attack a running player. Currently the zeds stop to attack. I simple moving punch is necessary , and lunges would be great too. Right now I can easily escape 30 zeds. In standalones if you are chased by thirty Zeds they would be right on your heels and the on first mistake you make they would pounce on you. This would make the running loot grab much more difficult to pull off. Stealth would become a key element to a loot grab. Secondly, the zeds should be able to run in buildings, albeit clumsily. buildings should be safer than outdoors, but right now it is too easy. Third, zombies shouldn't be used to detect a player's presence. Zeds are being optimized in standalone so this should allow them to spawn further away from players without killing the performance. There doesn't need to be thousands of roaming zeds. An example for Zeds spawning further away that even the biggest noob can relate to. If a 1337 sniper is on Electro hill Zeds should spawn by the hospital and supermarket. That is much further than now and would pretend a lot of Zed detection issues. -

Someone else mentioned a tourist map that shows cities and streets but nothing detailed for the wilderness. A military map would show the wilderness well but would be less detailed in the cities. The same person mentioned adding Street names (in Russian) which would help navigate.

I love spawning far from populated areas. It adds to the immersion, and I can really formulate a good plan to survive. If I spawned at Krutory Cap I would run to Tulga, then hit the deerstands on the way to Three Valleys (which is a very productive area). Then Msta, Dolina, Polina, Berezino, NEAF, Krasnostav, Devil's Castle, NWAF etc... -
Not all of the songs posted would be fit for the main menu. A melodie would be for the main menu. Some of the songs posted have that mood to them. Others are more fit for a trailer.

If Rocket does do something with the haunted place he shouldn't tell anyone but his closest advisers I am talking, not even the forums admins are told about it. The community should have to find the anomalies, the transmissions, and ghost for themselves. This will cause: paranoia, mystery, and flame wars about it being haunted/not haunted. It would be great!

blizzards if there are seasons. Those are more likely to occur in eastern europe. -
That is what I said. Bullets will be individual items that can be moved from magazine to magazine. In ArmA this is not possible.
