    Clothing Durability & On ground models.

    I like the idea of some one back full of plastic bags with each item :D I think infections will very uncommon if you take the necessary precautions. A pair of clothes wouldn't really gather much dangerous bacteria. A new pair of clothes shouldn't infect you. But if you don't boil your water and get cholera, then everything you touch is potentially contaminated. Then the whole server should be much more careful because cholera is out there. Until there is an outbreak diseases infections should be very rare on clothes used or unused. But once one infected person wears them, you should be careful.

    I have swam in water with leeches while on vacation in Canada. There isn't really a problem with them attaching to you unless you sit still in the shallows.

    Dean said that cholera and other infectious disease may linger on clothes. The danger isn't the bacteria/virus going through your skin. The danger is that some of the bacteria/virus finds it way to your mouth, eyes, nose, etc through your hands. If you touch something with bacteria on it, and then rub your eyes, there is a chance you could get sick. That is what I am talking about. If a person wasn't sick and simply took off the pants, then you wouldn't get sick from the pants. But if a sick person took of the pants and you wore them, there would be a risk. The danger is that you couldn't really tell if the pants in a heap on the floor are disease free or not. There is no way you could know if the previous owner was healthy or not. This is harsh and that is the way I would want it. I understand it might be a little too hardcore and that you might not agree with me.

    The swamp should be named "Area where careless people get there car stuck while searching for slaves/n00bs. I can't wait to find vehicles stuck in the quagmire. Personally I thin there should be more tall reeds. To conceal movement through the area. The decision players will face is: Go through the dangerous swamp and be exposed or go around it and take more time.

    Belt Pouches

    Rocket said certain types of clothes with have varying numbers of slots. For example, an army jacket would have lots of pockets for magazines, grenades, and medical supplies. A civilian windbreaker on the other hand wouldn't be able to carry as much. I haven't heard anything on belts, but I fairly certain that holster will be able at so point. It isn't unreasonable to expect belts, holsters, and bandoliers in the future. I can't wait to dress up like Chewbacca with my ghillie, bandolier combo!

    Going to the "next" world after death

    The core concept is there. Looting one's corpse is cheap and rather stupid/ immersion breaking. Same goes for tents/ vehicles. The idea of separate worlds wouldn't really work. The time limit bans would probably work better. Maybe the player would have to wait 10min before rejoining the game. This would help a bit. 30min temporary ban would make people think a little more about there actions, but like you said, it is pretty "gamey".

    Your dwelling on one little word I added by mistake. Maybe you would be happy if I said military grade ammunition. I know there is a difference between .223 and 5.56x45 NATO. But chances are your some Internet expert and nothing I say is right. Also saying" the helmet doesn't care if the bullet is military caliber or not. It's not like it says 'oh your military caliber so you can go through me' to the bullet" is kind of being an ass. This is a pointless argument. Good day to you sir

    Rocket said there will be helmets. IRL helmets aren't that effective at stopping military caliber bullets. Large rounds will still get through easily. They aren't super effective but they are a lot better than nothing. A modern military helmet could probably stop a 9x18 Makarov at 20 meters. I highly doubt it could stop a 5.56x45 round at that range. I am not expert though.

    As for the OP. In nature animals like wolves, bears, and wild cats rarely attack men unprovoked. Especially wolves, those rarely attack people. I wouldn't want Red Dead Redemption style wild life that attacks everything on sight.

    He said that they couldn't add them quickly. He still wants to put horses in the game. Making a new skeleton is hard work but the team could do it, with time.

    I don't think it would add anything that noteworthy into the game. The amount of possible controversy outweighs the possible benefits. Also I belief Rocket mentioned that it would take a lot of work to add children, because they would need a whole new skeleton. Rocket also said that would probably add horses before children.

    I think Rocket is keeping to costal spawns because it makes the inland areas have a certain eerie feel to them. Also he said there will be new areas, so it will help keep those places spooky. Personally I can't wait to explore the new Chernarus. I am going to avoid meta gaming to do so.

    I am pretty sure "Armour piercing" rounds are the same as FMJ rounds. Standard military bullets are FMJ even if it doesn't say it. Despite what CoD leads you to believe, FMJ is pretty standard. Civilian's probably use jacketed ammo too but some variations would exist. The whole argument saying they should add military ammunition is null and void. The game is based on Arma for god's sake.

    Like you said, there is already subsonic ammunition for the appropriate weapons. Seems pointless to suggest it. As for things like HE, and incendiary. I say no, no, and no. That ammunition types are for Sci-fi games, not dayZ. I do agree that standard bullet types should be able to be found. For the Makarov, it would be nice to be able to find standard jacketed rounds that the military use, along with all lead bullets. I know that there is a special 9x18 called 9x18 +P+ that is more powerful due to increased pressure. Calibers like 5.45x39 would have less variety, most likely. I am not a fire arms expert ,but most militarys only use FMJ rounds and subsonic rounds. I believe the Geneva conventions banned lead ammunition for the military. Hollow points seem okay, except I am not sure that they would be available. I suppose if they are extremely rare, it would be okay.

    Item Looting Radius

    From what I have seen and herd so far, it seems picking up items will be similar to STALKER. In stalker items can be practically anywhere. On shelves, in drawers, on tables, etc. To pick something up in that game, it is a simple as aiming your mouse at the item and pressing a key. It seems like DayZ will be similar in that regard. The interaction menu never wants to appear in Arma, so hopefully that can be fixed.
  23. How exactly would the avatar from the forum work? Would people see my picture in game? or in a lobby? The problem with your lobby suggestion is that unlike games like CoD, Halo, or anything that has matches, in Dayz no hangouts out in the lobby. It is not a horrible idea though.

    Bruising from repetitive gun fire.

    I shake a bit from things like public speaking and playing intense video games like DAyZ, Arma, Stalker, etc. I don't thing there would need to be an in game mechanic because I shake IRL and this affects my in game shooting. The shaking is minor so I think replicating it in game wouldn't be beneficial.

    Makes sense. But some one in the apocalypse could probably live through a little shoulder pain. Or they could take a few pain killers.
