Good work team! Always love to see hard work and fun being matched together. The problem I foresee with this video is that, every time I see a Zed eating/beating the shit out a player, I will think of Dean humping/beating the shit out of a pillow. :beans:

If your using the steam version of Arma Combined Operations, try verifying your game cache/local files. Make sure to RUN STEAM AS ADMINISTRATION. My motto when it comes to steam is, If you don't run steam as an administrator, you're going to have a bad time.

Late or what? Ps4 and Xbox720

    Is this a suggestion?
  5. As most of you have probably seen by now, clothing has been added in much greater detail. The recent blog showed Rocket put on and taking off clothes. Rocket mentioned that they haven't made the models for clothes that are one the ground. This got me thinking. My suggestion is that the model of the clothing on the ground should represent its condition and usage. For example. Lets say that in StandAlone just came out and you jump on the first server available. You spawn and run to the nearest building. And today is your lucky day cause there is a brand new pair of pants in a drawer! The pants' model is nice and neat. The pants are folded and clean. You put on your new pants and continue your adventure. A few hours later you find some nice camouflage trousers. These new pants out class your old jeans. You take off your jeans (oh damn!) and put on your new pants. The jeans' model is no longer nice and folded and clean. The "used" jeans are in a heap and look dirty. The army pants haven't been worn so they are folded. You decided that you are done for the day so you log off. Some other player walks into the building a while later and sees the pants on the floor. That player can instantly tell the pants aren't new because they are in a heap on the floor. This player has to make a decision. Should he/she wear the new pants and risk possible infection? Now in this case the pants player 2 found are just a pair of jeans. But what if you found a used pair of camouflage trousers or running pants? This would create a difficult decision, and I love tough choices like these. This could apply to all types of clothes and items. A new gun would look rather nice and shiny, but and used one would be dirty or even in some cases, covered in blood. With the new loot spawn system, I bet new guns will be really rare. In DayZ disease could be anywhere and/or everywhere. There should be some sort of disinfectant. Simple things like Alcohol, to rare things like antiseptics. Back to the topic of clothes. For some items it would be difficult to tell if it is used or not. A gas mask or a hat looks about the same whether it was used or not. To tell if that kind of item has been used the player would have to judge if the item was in a natural place. For example. If a player found a gas mask in a fire station, there is a pretty good chance it is new. Firemen and women would use gas masks to breathe in burning buildings. But if the player finds a gas mask in a shed in the middle of now where, that player should be careful before wearing the mask. There is no reason for it to be there. This would apply to things like guns, hunting gear, military clothes, and civilian clothes. Finding civ clothes in a military building or vice versa would be suspicious. This adds more to theme of the players making marks on the environment. It would be cool to find empty cans that players left behind. Used medical supplies also. I have heard that blood trails and shell casings would be resource intensive, so those probably shouldn't be added. UPDATE! With the new swamps it is much more likely that clothes will be getting a tid bit soggy. Wet clothes should be less effective at keeping you warm and it would be really cool if they had their own textures. Same goes for muddy and bloody clothes. This would supplement the bandit/hero system. Someone wearing bloody clothes would appear more dangerous than someone with clean apparel. That is all I got for now. I might add more things if I think of them. Feel free to add your ideas. Another Update Recently I heard that there will be crafting and I believe the devs are working on it. Something that I would like for would be the option to combine two old items to make one better one. You would need the proper tools and the items would have to be similar in nature to combine. It would be nice to be to fix an M16 with some parts from a M4. But you shouldn't be able to fix an M16 with parts from an AKM or a MP5. Fixing items of clothing would be more lenient. One could fix a pair of camouflaged pants with pieces of fabric from some jeans. You could also patch up a jacket with fabric from Jeans too. Patched up clothing and gear would be a symbol or someone who has survived quite a while and shouldn't be messed with. There should be any artificial effects to wearing any type of clothes like the current bandit/hero system. People would naturally infer that someone with old clothes has survived a while. Just like someone would infer than someone wearing bloody clothes would be dangerous. I feel this would greatly benefit immersion.

How seasons would help DayZ Game.

This suggestion is about the implementation of seasons into dayZ game as the title says. I will discuss my reasoning along with the mechanics and details of it. My first question is: why do people love playing on new maps so much? The answer is simple really. The human brain loves to see new things. It is called the curiosity motive and I have studied it in psychology class this semester. Exploring new environments is very enjoyable and that is why new maps like Namalsk and Lingor are so popular. People get tired of Chernarus after a while. Standalone is going to feature Chernarus plus. This map will entertain people for quite awhile due to 100% enterable buildings and new areas. But eventually people will want to play on new maps. Rocket has said that he could add the community maps but I don't think that is enough. So how do you fix this problem of getting tired of the same old maps? I say that Rocket should seriously consider seasons in the months prior to the release of Standalone after the initial kinks are ironed out. The seasons should be on a set cycle that people can predict to a reasonable amount. The map should reflect the change in season. Leafs should change color and eventually fall off the deciduous trees only to reappear in the following spring. Animals should become more scarce in the winter. Players would need to have a coat in the winter and wear less clothing in the summer. The changes would be logical and authentic. This would make the map look different and would make maps more fun for longer periods of time. The differing gameplay would keep people coming back after the default fall map starts looking old. Now obviously this would take awhile to implement so I wouldn't expect to see Rocket consider this until several months after release. That is fine though because people will still be enjoying the game as it is. Right now I expect that the artists are very busy working on new assets like clothing and bullets, etc. This would be a good project to endeavor on and it would be quite a task. Some summer textures could be borrowed from the Czech DLC because that map features the Czech republic during summer/spring. Now how long should seasons be? I think that seasons should go on a cycle of about two or three weeks per season resulting in a "year" that is about 8-12 weeks long. With seasons this long it will give players plenty of time to prepare and the changes will not be too rapid. There will enough summer weather for people who enjoy that and winter weather for people who like that instead. Another possibility would be month long seasons. This would result in a 4 month "year". The problem that I see with this is that if someone really doesn't like a certain season they would have to wait an entire month for it to change. Another way to help players who really don't like a certain season would be to have X and Y servers. X servers are always in the opposite season from Y servers. So if X servers are in summer then Y servers would be in winter. Maybe certain servers could have seasons entirely turned off. Now obviously the winter would be harder to survive in. The cold weather could kill someone who is exposed to the elements for too long. To counter this, new spawns could spawn with a wind breaker or light jacket in the winter in order to have a better chance of survival. Maybe people spawning in the heat of summer could spawn in a t-shirt and an empty water bottle. A small change in beginner gear that would represent the season would add authenticity and wouldn't give a bonus should be considered. The stuff someone would take from there house would vary based on the season. No one would leave their house without at least a light coat in the winter. Likewise for leaving your house in the summer without anything to stay hydrated. Nothing big that would make a fresh spawn much better, a little thing. TL;DR seasons should be added to give maps a new look and add authenticity to DayZ standalone months after release. Please discuss the idea. Also don't be afraid to criticize it. I am sure i forgot some aspect of the idea. UPDATE A recent interview with Matt Lightfoot confirmed that the Dev team knows about this idea. Matt said that they would consider it several months after release! They understand that it would be a hard thing to implement due too all the art required. He said that it could be some sort of DLC. Don't be afraid of the word DLC though. It sounds like they will ask the community for funding of seasons, and if the community raises enough money, the Devs will make seasons. It sounds like a Kickstarter for DLC that the community wants to see. I trust that if seasons are added Rocket and team will put the appropriate detail into it like they have done with SA. Wouldn't it be sweet to play in the snow!

How seasons would help DayZ Game.

I heard that seasons could be a DLC like feature. Whether we have to pay for it, depends on SA sales I agree you on everything, expect I think seasons should be shorter. Maybe, a few weeks to a month per season, so that we get to experience each season more frequently. Immersion wouldn't suffer from shorter seasons

Clothing Durability & On ground models.

I didn't think of that. Knee pads, and wrist guards could be very useful. Don't want to slide on the ground without knee pads cause then you'll a cut, which has a chance to infect you :D

    5.56mm weapon nerfing

I can't imagine this scenario ever coming to be. Rocket tends to favor hardcore realism and usually his discussions lean to the hardcore/ difficult side. I doubt he would nerf guns for casual players

    5.56mm weapon nerfing

Guns are guns are guns. ArmA is a sim. That means that guns are "OP" IRL are the best in the game. The high tech guns are better than the low tech ones naturally. Not through balance. As for damage, bullets are fucking deadly. In a real life scenario, I single bullet from 5.56x45 will wound someone badly. That is what it is designed to do, wound grievously so team mates try to help the wounded and get killed too. I hope guns do more damage. If a makarov doesn't kill in 2-4 shots In SA I will be mad

    Nerf Zombie Speed?

I doubt they will get any slower. I like them fast anyway. Keeps the player on his/her toes. The. Problem, like others have mentioned is that their movement is glitchy and not optimized. The devs are currently workin on the zed animations as we speak. These problems will mostly likely be ironed out by SA release and the patches that follow.

    random spawn items

I would prefer less gear when you spawn. It adds more pressure and makes the Zeds far more dangerous

    Top 10 Features to Remove

I agree. There is no reason to complain about first person. So many other games are first person and now complains about them. Simply adjust your FOV, turn down head bob to a reasonable level and go. Looking around walls is pretty cheap. And it needs to be address. Simply removing third person is the solution, I feel. That is my opinion. I think Recon by Zeds is going to fix by Zeds spawning through the server.

    heavy weaponry

The Zeds are still living and they breath. The breathing is evident by the sounds they make. They don't feel pain, so that part of the CN gas wouldn't be effective. But certainly CN gas in the lungs of anything, would have some side effects, I would imagine. There really isnt a Russian equivalent to the M79. Just found this weapon. It is used for riot control http://world.guns.ru.../rgs-50m-e.html It has shorter range, but still can fire HE, and fragmentation rounds. Primarily CN gas though. I feel a weapon like this would make its way into Chernarus during the early stages of the infection. Rioting crowds that are panicking from the zeds would have to be controlled. There is the RG-6 revolver style grenade launcher, but that has no place in DayZ.

    Thermite Charges...

Home made explosives, like a pipe bomb? Go into further detail.

    heavy weaponry

Now that makes sense. It would be even cooler to be able to find a Russian weapon that accomplishes the same goal. Tear Gas would be interesting. Would it affect the Zeds? Rocket has confirmed gas masks to be in the game. If the weapon was rare, this wouldn't be out of place, unlike a f***ing mortar.

    heavy weaponry

Disclaimer. This is a Troll Post I think we need more artillery. Like when I am at the fucking barracks and all i want is a rocket truck for the lolz to blow up the other guys on the server that are hackerz. Like one guy was looting a deerstand near bor. who does that obviously hacker lol. if there was artileeryy in the game i would blow up cherno to make it look apocalysspe . seriosuly what are the dumb fuck devs douing not adding this shit now. mortaars would only be the start. I mean i look on gooogle and the BM-21 Grad is a super deadly rocket truck and wikipedia said that they are popular in low tech countries lioke cherno. It would be realistic to find a truck like this. Also there sohould be anti-craft guns that can act like machines cause there guns traverse (lol i looked uup that word) low enough. Who the fuckj wouldnt want to fucking rain shit on the shitbag other guys/hackerz on the game with a Tunguska or a Shilka AA tanks. To be fair wevery new spawn would have RPG-28 in his n00b geer so that the tanks couldnt be troll hackers and kill the fresh spawns. WHO wouldn't liike this!!!!!!!11!!!!!111!!!!!!!!!!!!1 :) :) :) :) :) :) /trolling
  23. m.w. vindicator

    heavy weaponry

Played some CoD five recently eh? I really don't think this fits the mood for DayZ. What would you really need a artillery piece for? This isn't WW2 or a guerilla war simulator. I doubt anyone could throw a mortar far enough away from them self to not be killed by the blast. And can mortars even be thrown or is that some dumb movie/gaming trope.
  24. I am all for more unique buildings as long as these two conditions are met. 1. Performance doesn't take too big of a hit. 2. Loot doesn't become too easy to find. I feel that gear should be as rare as or rarer than the mod. Just because you COULD find a gun at the police station doesn't mean you WILL find a gun. Everyone and their mother would have checked the police station for a gun so actually finding one would be difficult. With the new loot spawns system and the "hidden" loot, I can't wait to explore every new structure and area. Hopefully, there are some unique building in there too! :D

Standalone Helicopters, light, medium or heavy?

I think it is pretty good the way it is now. Huey's, LittleBirds, and Mi-17s. There isn't really a need for anything else is there? Helicopters are cool and all but they aren't really that big of a part of the game. i guess there could be some more civ or Russian varieties. I don't want any attack helicopters even if it would "be realistic". They aren't necessary for the game.
