I can't wait!! My cup is ready  !

You make a good point, but I don't think the release date of the early access will effect things at all. I don't think the devs care if they miss a certain crowd. I wouldn't at all be surprised if Rocket was please that the earliest alpha builds got released to the public the same time as giant AAA games went live. Many people here, would still get the game despite big titles coming out like BF4 and AC:BF. I believe that BI doesn't care too much about sales write away. I think they would prefer that people buy the game later once the alpha and beta are over. The big AAA games will likely catch the attention of many gamers (for good reasons) and DayZ will go under the radar. I personally am not sure if I am going to buy BF4. I know I am not getting the new Assassin's Creed. I do know that I will add DayZ to my game library as soon as I can. Call me a fan, but that is what I am going to do. I want to crush bugs, shoot zombies, interact will players, wear new clothes, hit stuff with an ax that actually feels like a ax, find ammo (or not  ), use a Mosin-Nagant, explore Chernarus+, walk around and maybe roleplay some too. And if I get frustrated from a bug, I will go do something else or play another game, and then later I will try to report the bug when I have calmed down. ^_^ The whole experience will be fun.

I think it does. The blue shaded area is the whole map, which represents the old system. The red represents he current "bubble"

I think the Xbox One would be able to handle DayZ. The controls could be figured out. Certain abilities like the ability to turn your head independently from the body would have to be sacrificed most likely, but it could be possible. The biggest problem would likely be barriers set up by Microsoft blocking updates and things like that.

People just dont do role playing anymore
m.w. vindicator replied to meat pie's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This is exactly what the OP is complaining about. Roleplaying is pretending to be a character in a fantasy world. Dungeons and Dragons is a role playing game. A good roleplayer doesn't meta game. You don't power game. For example, say you are role playing a survivor from england who got lost after a shipwreck. While you, the player, know where all the good loot locations are, your character does not. So you play your character like someone who is lost in a strange world. It is really fun, but it is hard if the people you are playing with are meta and power gaming. Does that make sense? -
I think that food should be rarer and starving should take longer. IRL a person can go without food for a long time. While I don't suggest starvation takes a week, but increasing the time to starve to one day ingame doesn't seem unreasonable.

I like this idea. Another thing is the ability to fold stocks that can fold (seems obvious). For example the AKS-74 or AKMS. Both of these weapons have folding stocks. When not using the weapon, the player should be able to fold the stock for easier storage. When you draw the weapon for usage, the stock should automatically be deployed because 90% of the time you'll want the extra stability. But there should be a key or action menu slot to fold the stock even during use if for whatever reason you want it that way.

I believe it is much more common than HIV. HIV isn't really found in the wild, i thought? Before antibiotics, people who worked with animals would occasionally get it and die. It is still a problem in Africa
-
I don't think so. What makes you think something happened?
-
Oh no it is quite the contrary. It is found in soil as a spore. Animals eat the spore occasionally. Inside the animal, the conditions can become right for the spore to germinate. And when it germinates, the animal gets sick and dies.
-
They should add botulism. And all the nasty clostridium varieties. Also E. Coli related diseases. Anthrax comes from animals? Eating a dead animal would be very dangerous. That way living off the land is a little harder. Otherwise if you could go to any dead tree and eat bugs, survival might be a little too easy.

Harass them for the release date? Roger wilco Dear Rocket, I have an exam on the Friday after Halloween in Calculus. That is bad enough (the campus kinda likes to party :D ) Don't release on October 31st or my exam grade will be pitiful. Tomorrow will work well for my schedule. Thank you in advance for considering my personal interests and exam scores. I truly know that you care about my education. Sincerely, M. W. Vindicator

Is my grammar bad? What is your point? I use the edit button?

I don't think it is legit. Hard to say.

I agree. Call of Duty players are not satan like some people claim.

Are you serious? You must be trolling me. My first online game was Modern Warfare 2 on the Xbox 360 (which is just about 4 years ago). I was 14 then. I am 18 now. I am pretty fucking sure I am an adult. Can you count?I have no idea what your standards are for a mature player but I damn sure that I am not the cancer most players want gone. I am actually offended. On my forum profile my age is posted. When I was seventeen last year, my age was posted also. I have met plenty of people online in Arma 2 and made some friends too and most everyone is a good person to play a game with. Of course you get the odd guys, but generally they are few and far between. Next time, think before you speak. I am disappointed mate.

Are you crazy? I like this game but no one in their right mind should drop over 60 USD for a half finished product. I would wait likely if it cost that much. Who the fuck cares if casual FPS players play DayZ anyway?? You are talking like they are subhuman and we are the Arma 2 master race. They are gamers too. Just because they like a different game doesn't make them evil or satan. sure 13-14 year old gamers aren't ideal in the slightest. But we were all in the position. I first started Call of Duty and other games when I was around 14 on my Xbox. You all are really over exaggerating the issue. Not that many young kids are PC gamers. And most of them wouldn't play a relatively slow paced game like DayZ.

The app is hiding from a bandit. Sounded like the bastard had a 7.62x51 rifle. Barely missed the app.
