Recently i have seen a good number of kicks due to script restrictions. BE isn't perfect but they get some of these cheaters. Just have seen a death msg of a guy and some seconds later he was kicked for using any script, great ! After reading all the hate threads, i just felt to have to write about it here. A bit of a vent (?) like you native speakers say ?

I fully agree, but unfortunately it's the downside of any Antivirus, Anti Scripting software. There'll always be some "false positiv", it's not perfect, but we all know this. But this way you, unvoluntarily, help to catch more of them.

This is no rage and no whining, just my last two experiences. 1) Running into a church i saw another survivor, armed with a shotgun or enfield. I didn't want to fight a poor survivor so i ran around and heading back to the entrance. He tried to shoot me but missed always. No problem. 2) Respawning, i was at the 1st floor of a pub. I heard the flies of a dead body, so i moved cautiosly to the first room on the right side, close to the stairs. There were two dead bodies in camos, looked like fully equipped. Just as i was about to loot the bodies, a guy spawned right in front of me, no weapons, survivor skin. So i again hold fire and waited for him to leave. He ran out, took a machine gun of one of the bodies, teleported behind me and killed me instantly. Yes, that doesn't happen always and it was bad luck. But as long as we have so many cheaters and scripters, all those discussions about Kos are imho useless. The only thing we need to survive right now are the scripters. I'm still trying to get used to altF4 if the situations are any kind of suspicious. But i don't see any other way. Let's hope that the standalone arrives soon. tF

My normal altF4 doesn't work either cause "alt" is my key for fire weapon. I use an app called "Super Alt F4" and assigned a single key to run it. Have a look at it.

Some servers have the global chat enabled. I don't like the permanent talking but just like to know how it works ? I've a key assigned for "chat" but that doesn't seem to work at all. Nobody seems to read this ? thanks

No need to complain about hackers again, enough said. But why do they do it ? If i try to imagine how it would be to play in god mode or spawn the best gear, i just can't see the point ? You play a game for having fun, and you enjoy the game because there are challenges you're facing. A real hacker's challenge is to break into high security systems. But where is the challenge for the cheaters ? You like the role playing, doing things RL can't give you, immersion and suspense, the thrill of killing. Isn't it like watching the end first of a high suspense thriller ? Or reading the last pages first of a brilliant book ? So if these guys would just like to test their scripts, they should realize that it's no fun at all. The most fun i have with DayZ is, being honest, to fight other players. So you kill all people on the sever, and now what ? So what is their motivation and the motivation to do it again ? They ruin their game and don't have any benefit at all. They don't have fun, maybe a minute running the script, fine. The don't earn any respect because it's childs play, it's kindergarten. And not like any botnet hackers, they don't earn any money. Are they just sick, are they insane ?

Lonrem made a good advice. Arma can be tricky with the settings. Better start with all maxed and lower the settings until you get good fps, don't expect a steady high fps. Even high end rigs have fps drops in cities and many AI.

A game is installed and ready to go, a mod is not plugandplay. Would you have searched the troubleshooting forum, you'd have found two install guides from the last days.

I don't know the current prizes but i'd buy a GTX 670. But then you need equal CPU power to avoid performance bottlenecks. Upgrading isn't allways usefull, it's better to build a new system after some years. This ensures that all components are the same generation and are on the same performance level. But yes, it needs money.

Don't forget that Arma requires a high CPU and GPU performance.

If you decide to buy a desktop, you should go for this minimum: CPU: Core i5 or higher GPU: nvidia 560ti or 570 or higher for ArmA3 RAM: 8 GB SSD: cheap 60 GB for Games (access time and data streaming)

Have you tested different servers ? What is your FPS (use Fraps or MSI Afterburner for showing fps in game). And for gaming don't buy a laptop, you need a desktop.

When i join server DE 1530 and get into the multiplayer screen / lobby, i hear people talking. It sounds like an english talking family with a kid or two. It seems that this guy didn't turn off his mic or whatever. I don't know how to contact him, so i hope he does read here. Did this happened to you yet ?

OMG, you never have to wait long until somebody needs to get insulting. I hate hackers too, but he's not so wrong saying that having nothing to achieve in the game will result in more hackers.

Search the forum, me and others just helped two guys to install it correctly. Look in troubleshooting.

Who are you ? Are you Rocket's brother ? Fanboy ? You don't need to defend everything Rocket does. The problem with dogs is that there's so much more important work to do, but implementing new features, like dogs, is not the big step we need. And yes, it's a free alpha mod, but criticism is important, otherwise the testing is useless. You know that a standalone will be released soon, so this free mod will also get business, and BI can earn some more money. That's fine with me. But BI and Rocket need the community and there feedback. Rocket will not read every thread here but he gets a good impression what's going on. And by the way, Rocket said that he needs the fans and the haters too.

Ok, it's not the first thread about the miserable state of the mod. But he's just right that communication is not present at all, and we don't deserve this treatment. And i don't need to loose a word about the bugs, but alltogether they are showstoppers. Dogs ? Sorry, i didn't call for dogs. I now stay at the coast cause you can't achieve anything, you always loose everything by hackers, bugs etc. If we could only have something like an earth hole to safely store our stuff in. So we can loot and collect the gear and have some pvp by doing this.

Another point of view, Zombies are no challenge anymore when looting Elektro or Cherno, so the Snipers and other players are the only threat anyway. And soon as you get a an AK or M16, you're threat to others. But killing unarmed spawns is pathetic.

Wir haben gerade erste jemand anderem geholfen, es zum laufen zu bringen. Folgende Reihenfolge einhalten: Arma2 installieren + einaml starten ArmAOA installieren + einmal starten Beides voll updaten ! DayZ Commander installieren - Beta version installieren lassen - Mod installieren lassen ueber den Commander Server auswaehlen und spielen. Bei steam kann ich dir nicht helfen leider.

After so many ways i've walked, exploring the country, i've now made my home on a little pretty island. But bad luck, no fresh water for me. Any boats there ? Ehm, no. And you need to read my, not so funny, post again. In fact i was talking about a hacker's thunderdome-teleport-and-kill-everybody (i hope you get it now). To avoid death, i did an altF4. That's absolutely legit. But you're all right by saying that germans aren't famous for their humor. Germnas are not funny, That's why i love english humor, e.g. like in Top Gear.
