There's not only one, you can still choose Servers with low pop or whitelisted. So you can for Origins. But with significant less Pvp, Origins is your choice.

I can't as i haven't found it myself. The major features are that you scavenge some materials and build a house, second are some custom Mad-Max-Vehicles. Before you do this, you have to gain humanity as Hero or loose it to become a Bandit. And this is the second advantage, most people try to become heros, so only a few bandits will KOS. Even this is imho more realistic as a server full of serial killers. You just need to download and copy the @... folder, then let DayZCommander do the rest. Don't read too much about it, keep the suspense...

That's only your opinion and doesn't stand for all players. And i can't remember Rocket saying that loosing all of your stuff (sooner or later) is a major aspect of DayZ. You guys are claiming it's not realistic but never spend a minute thinking about it. In a real world scenario like this, i'd just dig a simple hole, put my stuff in a plastic bag and bury it. Place some flowers on top or whatever. What do you think your chances are finding it ? After playing DayZ Vanilla for a year, scavening stuff just don't make sense anymore, you loose it anyway. And what else do people do: PVP. That's why i love Origins, the safe houses represent my earth holes, where i can safely hide my stuff. And that's what i'd do as a true Survivor in such a world.

You could try Origins. There are several servers (i only know german/english) with safe base camps.

This doesn't make sense for DayZ and ArmA2. The game's about playing against AI units like other shooters too.

Thanks Lok, there's not so much more really useful and confirmed (!) optimisations. I'll only add things that are proven, there are too many myths and false informations about increasing fps in A2. And i don't want to make this a competition. You guys decide if pinning or not.

I run a GTX570 phantom with an i5 2500K @4000 and usually have 40 to 60 fps (vsync on for better quality, tearing and less drops). Maybe your CPU doesn't work well with A2 ?

Had the same prob a while ago. Nothing i've done helped until a system restore to a previous date. It can be the needle in thehay stack.

Not really hot news but still unbelievable. There are these smart guys who pay real money for ruining, in the first step, their own game experience ! The challenge and fun of the game is to scavenge, having fun finding good and rare loot, for surviving. And these guys do accomplish the mission within minutes, well done idiots. That's just one reason i play Origins now. It's not that they have a better database or servers, but you have just a better chance toget your vehicles done. And houses usually don't disappear. GIve it a try...

Tbh, if you have a license, install Win 7 64 bit. If not, install it again and do some images always before adding hardware or any major software updates.

If LAN and WLAN cause the same failrue, i'd stop here. If you have somebody, test another Router. If it's worth the time, i'd take out / disconnect every hardware not needed and reinstall windows. Get it full updated with all latest drivers. Then test internet connection again with a minimum setup and add hardware/software one by one.

Is it a Laptp with built in wifi or a usb adapter ? It it happens after a while playing / being online it could be a heat problem, but that's not too likely.

Maybe it's not DayZ, have you done a reset of your Router / updated firmware yet ? You could also test playing in a different room.If not recommended already, turn off any security software and other network related software for a test only.

Sometimes these kind of problems are caused by the default power saving level. It doesn't seem related but give it a try. Change it to always full power and disable the function of allowing Windows to turn off NIC to save power. I'd also recommend to have Windows full updated. Did you test to join a Server ingame Arma yet ?

Not all servers are that bad, so no point to generalize it. I had a lot of bad DayZ vanilla servers too. It just takes time to find a good server, that's all. And as DayZ started, there were a lot of problems too.

Hi, like to help you but need some clarification. You launch ArmA + Arma OA ? What do you see ? All black ? Please install DayZ Commander, check for any updates and test any Server. Report back then...
