My buddy was getting the same BattlEye kick messages... he's tried everything (and I mean literally EVERYTHING) to reset his BattlEye, to make sure his Arma and DayZ are set up properly... I dont know man. I gave him all the instructions for how to play, so his setup is EXACTLY like mine, but I can play on that server and he cannot. I really don't get it.

For those of you having this problem... have you tried logging into servers that are running beta patches below 95208? My buddy is having this exact problem, and he for whatever reason is able to actually get into servers running beta's below the 95208 line... when he does get into servers that aren't running 95208 he has his full kit, DMR, NVG's, etc. (a nice kit) but at one point he actually got past the loading screen for the 95208 server, and he loads in as a fresh spawn on the beach.

Just got killed by a fuckin tree...
Rayth replied to ericdude88's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I had a tent under a pine tree kill me yesterday. Body was gone by the time I got back to it... sad face. NVG's, ghillie, rangefinder, etc. etc. et cetera. It happens. -
Admins cheating on their own server? You decide.

So, a server that I have been frequenting lately which shall remain nameless (let's just say it's in Chicago) has had me thinking.... I know for a fact where the admins base is. I've seen the tents, I've seen the vehicles. Here's my question... in some of the tents, there are as much as 100+ item slots worth of equipment in a SINGLE tent. As far as I know this isn't possible through any legit means, as they only hold around 55 slots. So are the admins cheating? Is it possible to hold more than 55 slots in a single tent?? Not to mention WHAT was inside those tents. Rangefinders, NVG's, ghillie's, top-tier weapons and ammo, etc. So what do you think? Anything that can be done about this? -

Already done that. Didn't seem to phase them. New vehicles, more equipment the next day. -
Hey guys... if I've got several vehicles and I die... do I have to save them just like tents, or will they be ok for the seven days or whatever? Just not sure how that works, and appreciate any insight you guys can provide. Thanks.

Thank you all for your help, but none of you answered my question... I want to know specifically, IF I DIE, do I have a set amount of time in which I can save my vehicles, or will they be there regardless of deaths? I understand the 'leaving them untouched' thing, but I want to know if I have to save them after I die.

Are the server owners cheating us?
Rayth replied to Varasalvi's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
What Frost said. So far, in my experience, if you think to yourself "THERE'S NO WAY, THAT COULDN'T BE A COINCIDENCE!!" ... it likely wasn't. I've been hacked, annihilated, spoken to a talking german shepard, and also had my perfectly hidden vehicles disappear overnight, and I have to say... I can't wait for this game to go public and be under secured servers. -
My last character was 12 days old and had only one murder (which was a complete accident... killed my buddy Luke. I asked like FIVE times "You're not moving??" "NO!" "You're not moving AT ALL DUDE, AT ALL???" "NO, I'M NOT MOVING AT ALL!!!" *BLAM* Turns out he was holding alt and looking around (which makes your head move around) But yeah. I play as if I was actually surviving a zombie apoc. I wouldn't just murder everyone. I would kill to stay alive, if need be. But not just shoot on sight.

SO... For the second night in a row, US 257 SEATTLE has been hacked. It started by my friend and I hearing a chopper heading across the map from north of the airfield towards the south. We both said out loud "Have choppers been added back into the game?? uhhhh wtf?" .... so we had our backs up instantly. Then we heard gunfire north of us. We went prone behind some pine trees, looking beyond them to find where the fire had come from. Then, both of us suddenlyy sustain broken legs at the exact same time, though we're not moving. I tell my buddy to abort immediately, which we both do. At this point I think we both made it out with our gear and our stats. However... from the lobby we view the carnage.... Player A has died Player B has died Player C has died etc. etc. etc. etc. ....... Is there any plan to stop this kind of rampaging bullshit stretching across all servers? Is it too much to ask for some kind of official word on if this is being worked on?? Yes, dear friends and fanboys, I recognize that this MOD is in ALPHA. I've seen every cliched post and response and either gave it the thumbs up, laughed, agreed, or carried on. My point still stands. Is there anything being done about this? Or should I just take a couple weeks off?

Same thing happened to me. Hacker destroyed everyone on the server.... and then came and chatted with me a bit. He turned into a dog, he turned into a soldier with a red beret, as well as a cow. He then gave me all the good shit in the game, as well as a black SUV that looked like Obama had gone somewhere in it recently.... then he blew up Guglovo, I laughed, and he logged out. True story.

So my buddy and I were just killed on US 257 Seattle by two guys who seemingly appeared out of nowhere. Apart from that, my buddy ended the firefight that lasted less than 20 seconds with 15 crossbow bolts lodged into his body. There is nothing that I am aware of that is legit that could have caused a crossbow to fire that fast. So we died from hackers, right? Also... dude was running around in circles while shooting my buddy yelling over direct comm's "You think you're gonna kill me??" ...... 12 day character, fully geared, NVG's, coyotes, all good stuff. Not too attached to my gear, just frustrated to lose it in a non-legit manner.
-
All of US 257 Seattle was just slayed. I spoke to the hacker, who felt like being a decent guy after wasting my friend and I.... he spawned me a couple of L8's, coyote pack, and ATV. He then told me I had ten minutes to get back to my tent and vehicle to get them saved before he was going to waste the entire server. It wasn't ten minutes... more like 4.... and he pulled us all into the air, killed us all. This fucking blows. Nothing I do is safe in this game with hacking like this.

Server? That might help... there are a couple hundred of them you know.
-
Tent in a tent? Joke is barely existent... move on to the next.
-
Thanks for not disconnecting... you and your friends. That kind of gunfight is one of many that maybe just never happened because of the magic alt-f4.

I've logged over 220 and am still having a blast. You're doing it wrong.

All (8) of our vehicles gone. How?
Rayth replied to headbasha's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Let me help you, because no one on these forums will provide you the 'help' you're asking for, and it'll save the rest of them the trouble. "It's alpha, bro." "Don't get attached to your gear/vehicles." "A clan could have organized that theft easily, don't just blame hackers, or bugs." Sucks though, eight vehicles. I struggle to find any. Did you get those from their original spawn points, or steal them from the woods? -
Nice haiku at the end of your post, OP. I enjoyed it.

So my buddy and I are both having the same problem... we're not sure if it's a problem with our characters, with tents, or with the server itself. Here's the breakdown of the past two hours or so. We play on US 257 Seattle. I recently placed a tent, which I didn't like the placement of, so I repacked it and placed again. Didn't like that one so I repacked it also. I always save them. The second time I packed the tent up I couldnt pick it up no matter what I tried. Upon a server restart (that I was not aware of, as the server restarts every 8 hours, and this was not one of those) there were two tents where I had placed and packed mine. I know this is a known bug, so we didn't place any items in them for fear of losing them. Now, however we are having some very serious inventory problems. Ever since the tents were placed and repacked these are some things that have gone down: 1. My buddy had previously placed his L85 AWS into one of our tents. We have never had any problems with this tent before. It has stored items and survived multiple restarts with no problems. It was placed once and once only. He pulled this gun from the tent along with two AS50's and shortly after logged out. When he logged back in all thee guns were gone. 2. I dropped an M4A1 CCO SD and mags into that same tent. I had dropped my M4A1 ACOG on the ground in order to pick up the CCO SD to do that... but now had picked the ACOG back up along with mags. I logged out. When I logged back in, I still had the ACOG, but none of the mags. Also, the M4A1 CCO SD and mags were no longer in the tent. 3. I retrieved a couple of things from the one tent I described above (the good one). I logged out. When I logged back in those items were gone, from both the tent and my inventory. 4. I took items from my inventory, including the ACOG and dropped them into the tent. Logged out. When I logged back in they existed both in the tent and in my inventory. For a while, the inventory set that I had around the time of the failed tent placements was the ONLY WAY my inventory would be upon login, whether I had dropped or picked up new items. Whether that was from loot piles or tents. It didn't matter. My inventory would revert. I went through probably 5 or 6 logouts/ins with various results. I went to a town where I engaged some loot piles, drank, ate, walked out of town and logged out. Those changes to my inventory saved. Then I started dropping a single water bottle and logging out and back in. Sometimes the bottle would be on the ground AND in my inventory again (duped). Sometimes it would not be on the ground anymore, and it would be back in my inventory. A couple of times I would log back in and be a short distance from where I had run to before logging out. I can no longer tell from one logout to the next what will save and what will not. I can no longer tell if pulling items from my tent is going to end in me losing the item upon logout. Can anyone provide some insight as to what is happening here? I'd appreciate any feedback that could be given, as I'm not sure where to go from here. The game seems slightly unplayable for me if there's a 50/50 chance that anything I do is not going to be saved. Thanks.

So we were buzzed on Coke and Pepsi... and we decided to buzz Stary military camp. Tonight was epic, here's my favorite pic from the night.

Haters gonna hate. That was sweet. Learn to calm yourself a bit more and your DMR rounds won't hit the truck you're trying to save, but other than that... well played sir. P.S. - PM me about the grenades, I'm curious.

L85A2 AWS Missing after joining outdated server, should he bother asking for it back?
Rayth replied to Devil4444123's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
How much time passed between him picking up the L85 and then being disconnected from the server? I'm having fucking crazy inventory problems, and I'm starting to think that there's some sort of mandatory amount of time you must be logged in after picking something up in order for it to save to the HIVE. -
Character Spawns at Previous logout location with previous inventory items
Rayth replied to diresolo's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
... Confirmed that this is happening, but I have never worn a camo or ghillie suit. I pull items from my tent and log off, log back in and they are gone. I put items from my inventory into the tent and log off, log back in and they are inside my tent and on my character. I have also had it go both ways with pulling items from the tent to my backpack and having the item still be in my pack when I log back in, and sometimes the item is not there. So I'm scared to touch my character til this is fixed. Already lost an M4A1 CCO SD to this... who knows what else will be lost. -
I was foaming, yes.... you got me. lol
