1: How is it not authentic to have infected women and children? They exist in the real world... and viruses don't get squeemish. A virus will fuck up your baby with no remorse because READ: it's a fucking virus. 2: Ethical questions? To killing zombies? I would just as quickly put down a child-zombie as I would a rabid dog. They both want to kill me, and they're probably both experiencing some pretty awful pain. It's mercy killing for crying out loud. 3: WHY DOES EVERYONE WANT THIS GAME TO HAVE "HALLUCINATIONS"? SOUNDS FUCKING ANNOYING. So stop suggesting it. -

While I would never diss the holy plant, I just don't think it has any business in the apocalypse. Nobody would have time to grow it, since they'd all be busy surviving the zombies that want to eat their flesh. And anyone who did have some would do the sensible thing and smoke up when shit hit the fan. -

I'd like to see New York. All the islands plus a good chunk of the inland area. The bandits can all hang out in Jersey. Plus it would be funny to watch DayZ slam "The Division" in terms of open world and persistence. Can you even imagine Manhattan? It'd be like Cherno on sniper-roids. -

I've actually been thinking about this too. Defecation is an effective way of telling what kind of health you are in. Rocket already mentioned dysentery and cholera so maybe we can hope for some runny, bloody stool to inform us that we've caught a bug. I can just imagine seeing this message on the chatlog: You just defecated in your pants. -
So you're saying that I can become crazy just by being "alone for too long," but when I do finally meet survivors, I would be shunned and probably KILLED ON SIGHT. How is this an improvement? Maybe I had no ill intentions whatsoever, but because I spawned in the middle of buttfuck Kamenka and had to defend myself from a bandit, now I'm at a disadvantage? How exactly is that even reasonable? Sounds like a broken game mechanic just waiting to shit on us.

I DON'T LIKE IT WHEN THE GAME CREATORS DECIDE WHAT IS "RIGHT" AND "WRONG." There, I said it. Besides, it's just not fair. 1: I spend a lot of time alone in reality. This does NOT make me insane. 2: I spend a lot of time alone in DayZ, because EVERYONE IS ALREADY INSANE. Doesn't anyone remember Rocket saying that he doesn't want to "punish players for playing in a particular way"? What if I like being alone? What if I like killing other people? What if I must kill someone? I mean, I already feel real guilt when I kill people in DayZ, sometimes. But other times, it's completely JUSTIFIED. I would NOT "lose my mind" if I killed someone who was about to murder me. That's self defense. I would probably just forget about it after a while, to be honest. That's the amazing thing about us humans. We can handle a lot. We can repress memories. We can rationalize our own actions to our self. I'm not saying that this is necessarily a bad idea. But I have to agree with mZLY. It's very artificial. Do not want.

Standalone and Xbox

Who wants to play Dayz with a console anyway, ick. I want to be able to play custom maps and DayZ mods, like Origins. Not to mention all the complex controls like facial gestures. How are you gonna do all that with only 12 buttons? -
How far can they push the map?

Rocket stated himself in an interview at e3 that they had pushed the borders of the map out a bit to add area for new towns and stuff. there's unused landmass to the north and east, so by using it and pushing out the boundaries, they have effectively expanded the map. Even so, it's been confirmed that Player generated content is going to be supported, so if ACE can do it, I'm sure DayZ can do it too. Personally I'd like to see a 20km by 20km map. With a 100-150 player server, that would just be awesome. We'd need vehicles though. -

How about the lack of a clothing section the gear menu? Nobody else noticed that? The standalone has a working clothing system, so it HAS to have a UI. The pictures here have nothing of the sort. We've already been shown the gear menu for the SA, so of course this is for the mod. -

Isn't the whole point of this game to give players a unique experience? We all reap what we sow. You can't "balance" a game that is governed by cause and effect. If I just run around on the coast in a full sprint like a Bambi moron, of course I'm going to get killed. The people who find this game "too hard" just need to get more savvy. It's the apocalypse, it's not going to hold your hand. We all had to adapt, to survive. Quit complaining. Learn what to expect. Act on your expectations. It's a very simple process. -
Standalone animations

Personally, I like DayZ for it's gameplay. Sure, tighter animations would be nice, but for me the main draw is the suspense. -
You have to splint broken legs in the Standalone. I like the idea of breaking legs or whatever though. It reminds me of The Stand.

This. But I enjoy a fair challenge. Cherno is just terrifying; a nice mano y mano firefight in Berezino can be exciting. By the time anyone gets up there, they've got pretty good gear so they fight tooth and nail. One time I had a shootout with a guy around a barn there for a good 15 minutes. Finally killed him, but he gave me a good run. -
Why do you need 12000 blood?

We have to consider that people generally don't die instantaneously when being shot. I'm pretty sure that's why the blood is what it is. I find it pretty realistic. One .308 to the body usually puts a dude on the ground. -

Just gonna go on the record here and say that I think Ozelot is right. Human nature is pretty predictable. Panic spreads like a disease. I think more people would group together in reality, since we have real physical limitations and needs. Not to mention family members, friends, ect. However, there'd undoubtedly be just as much human combat over resources and ego. -

I tell people to drop their weapon when I have them at a disadvantage, because I'm generally a pacifist and I'm actually not out to ruin someone else's fun. If they comply, then great. We do our business and I let them go. If not, I shoot them. It's that simple. I can't say whether I would comply or not on the receiving end. I'd rather just duke it out. -
