I have an idea for helping with the KOS problem. Rocket should read.

What do you think of fresh spawns being able to punch?
SalamanderAnder (DayZ) replied to Chungmugong's topic in General Discussion
Absolutely not. I don't miss anything about defenseless newspawns. It wasn't a "feature," it was a lack thereof. Furthermore, it's pretty stupid to even suggest that the devs remove a feature that they undoubtedly put lots of hard work into. Might as well as them to remove the building interiors again. -
I GOT RESET, AGAIN!!!! FIX THIS!

How many people do you kill in a life on average?
SalamanderAnder (DayZ) replied to Mays (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I only kill people who attack me or otherwise pose an immediate threat. -
What happened to 10 -- 15buck$ alpha pricing?
SalamanderAnder (DayZ) replied to archibald tutter's topic in General Discussion
Nobody ever said it was going to be a certain price, you just listened to forumers who were speculating. Now shut up. -
Please for the love of god don't add "Sanity."

Alright, I don't mean to be abrasive, but I am sick and tired of seeing this idea for one. Can we STOP suggesting it over and over? Thanks noobs. #learn2play #gitgud #stopcryinglikealittlebaby- 52 replies

Please for the love of god don't add "Sanity."
SalamanderAnder (DayZ) replied to SalamanderAnder (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
No, it can't. Adding sanity would be a mild punishment compared to the reward a player gets for killing another player. It would NOT stop people from KoS'ing, it would not be "realistic" in any sense of the word - you cannot "simulate" sanity. It's simply not possible. Here's a simple hypothetical for you. A player tries to kill me with an axe. I shoot him. Now, because the game has zero way to understand CONTEXT, I become the bad guy and suffer "insanity." It's a bad idea, through and through. -
Well, here is the issue with zombies... [VIDEO]

The only solution for DayZ: Simulation.
SalamanderAnder (DayZ) replied to SalamanderAnder (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Those are some pretty good ideas, I especially like the stuff about inspecting a wound and using different tools like a saline flush or boiling water to prevent an infection. Sort of reminds me of the diagnosis system from Americas Army 3. -
Oh look, it's this thread again.

SalamanderAnder (DayZ) replied to SalamanderAnder (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Good god for the last time, bandit skins don't change anything. Even with the skins people constantly KoS'd, bandits were basically forced to kill everyone they met because people instantly knew who had killed a bunch of people (stupid) and Hero's were basically non-existant, and the system could be farmed to give you a hero skin, even if you were a bandit! Stop bringing up skins. They don't do jack squat. In fact, I've had more positive interactions in the Standalone than I ever had in the mod. -
Not really. It actually just gave bandits an excuse to be bandits (since they could no longer hide their misdeeds and therefore resorted to killing everyone), gave survivors a "cool skin" to kill people for, and regular survivors KoS'd each other for gear and protection all the time. It didn't change anything about how people interacted in the mod. You are seriously over glorifying that feature.

SalamanderAnder (DayZ) replied to SalamanderAnder (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
While I can appreciate your point, we have already tried this. Good ideas and topics are being continually buried by the same repetitive post. It's not as simple as "don't read it" because it keeps other good threads from being commented on. Every time someone posts this idea in a new thread, the majority jumps on it and attacks the idea, it becomes controversy, and therefore the thread keeps getting bumped to the top of the list. -

SalamanderAnder (DayZ) replied to SalamanderAnder (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Lol, If you were paying attention to my post count and join date, you would realize that what you just said is quite silly. I have been playing the mod since it came out also, and I understand the "principles" of DayZ very well. Gimmicks are not part of that principle. Gimmicks are the kind of thing you'd see in WarZ, or some other arcade bullshit. DayZ is not the place for artificial sanity. No way, no how, no thank you. I'm not even a "bandit" (stupid name for murderers btw, bandits rob people) and I don't want this. I can defend myself just fine thank you. -
Please for the love of god don't add "Sanity."
SalamanderAnder (DayZ) replied to SalamanderAnder (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Quite simply, because they suck at the game and they want some kind of gimmick to "protect" them, when what they fail to realize is that it won't actually stop people from killing each other anyway. -

DayZ is NOT fun for new players, which makes me worried.
SalamanderAnder (DayZ) replied to Murakamo's topic in General Discussion
It depends on how you define "fun." If you're an entitled little child who wants everything in a game spoon fed to you, then you might say this game isn't fun. If you're someone who likes difficulty and consciously bettering yourself, then you'll enjoy it. It's pretty much that simple. Spoiled brats go home. If you were too dumb to look around you and beware of other players, then that's your fault, not the game's. -
What can be made into Rags should be fixed because of the Zeds' infinite bleeding damage hit super power

Lol, super powers. These zombies are not that hard. Honestly. Learn2play. -
DayZ Is Officially Ruined(Player Wise)
SalamanderAnder (DayZ) replied to daniels's topic in New Player Discussion
Oh, it's this thread again. Look, saying that the game is "ruined" because of x or y is a pretty childish stance to take. You're being reactionary and not thinking about the future. You realize that the whole reason people say "it's alpha" is because... IT'S ALPHA. They will fix these issues. It isn't "ruined" because It's still in progress. -
Yeah, this is actually a good idea.

Accuracy comparison: DayZ vs ARMA 2
SalamanderAnder (DayZ) replied to -Gews-'s topic in General Discussion
I really don't know where people get this idea, that because it's the RV engine, x or y feature automatically isn't possible. If you were paying attention, someone posted a video of A.C.E mod in this thread which features all those things you mentioned. It's completely possible. It's already been done. -
I seriously doubt sales profits are going directly into Dean's pockets. They have to pay fees, host servers, pay all the other other developers in the company, Steam, not to mention Bohemia is going to take a large cut and put that money into their own coffers. Honestly he's lucky if he's making more than $150k a year, and he's most likely bound by a contract or something to continue development on the game. The company isn't going to just let him take the money and run.
