    Well of course. You can run a SSD side by side with a regular hard drive. Just use the SSD for your OS and any high-priority programs you have, like DayZ.

    Twas a joke, good sire. But it's not always that way. Arma is just very picky and seems to do things in weird ways. Let me provide a small example: is it easier to render 1000 trees, or is it easier to render 100 trees in full detail and 900 in LOD? Well, intuition would tell you the latter (that is, after all, the less graphically demanding option). However, as you move around in the environment, that means the engine has to swap out 900 LOD models into different states, all depending on how far away you are. Objects may have anywhere from 2 to 6 different LOD states. That takes up a lot of processing power, thus the seemingly ironic slow down despite the fact that the graphical settings are actually lower. And um... I think he's just saying that installing your OS on an SSD is wise if you buy one, because it will make your computer will boot uber fast. It's like if I said "you should buy a car for work and travel." I'm not saying buy two cars. I'm saying, use it for both purposes.

    That is not what he means. What he is saying is that items literally are vehicles, in terms of code. To the engine, a gun is a vehicle. This allows them to apply states and variables that otherwise they cannot apply to strings, which is how items used to be handled by the engine. Vehicles like cars and trucks will not be in the Alpha release. Oh hype train, will you ever end? :rolleyes:

    Yeah but I mean, just because someone hopes for something doesn't mean it's going to happen. Like you said, that's more of a full release goal. Personally, I find 50 player servers to be quite crowded enough. Mostly I prefer 20 - 30 people anyway.

    No. The expectation is 50-60 players per server, and this is all we should be expecting. I don't know where everyone is getting this 150 player number from. Just because that is technically the Arma 2 server cap doesn't mean it's feasible. Perhaps after more development we could see such numbers on a very robust server, but I highly doubt it. No game of this caliber has ever been able to support 150 players on a server.

    Eh, we don't know that. It just depends on how long it takes to resolve the issues that are holding them back. Could be a couple weeks, could be a month or so.

    It wont work, dayz its such a big thing now that even if rocket ninja releases at any time without a release date, it will spread like a disease over the forums and internet in general, and everyone will know it in a second. There will not be such thing as a soft release no matter what happens. Uh... Okay. Good job removing my text from the quote box and then repeating the exact same thing I just said, as if you were contradicting me.
