Indeed. The fix is not to take away night time. It's a critical aspect of the game experience. The real solution is 1: to condense the day/night cycle, and 2: make night time playable and actually somewhat pleasing to the eye. I get that it's supposed to be realistic, but it's obvious that nobody is going to play a video game when it's pitch black. Looks pretty accurate to me. Are you not human or have you just never gone outside at night? Because I can see colors at night just fine. -

I agree, fucking daylight servers are pathetic. I didn't have trouble finding a daytime one before they came out anyway, but this is just the first step to "MAXIMUM LOOT OMFG HELO SPAWN WITH M4 + ALL ATTACHMENTS PVP SERVER!!!!!!" And then there will be no more vanilla SA servers. #gameisfucked -

Wow, you really are missing the point here. They aren't saying the team should remove those items. There is a difference between spawning an item, and rendering it. An item can still exist without your game client having to graphically render said item ALL THE TIME. Have you any idea what rendering means? Also, I don't see why you sign every post. We can see who you are already. -

Well, I used to work at a gun range. What's better, let some girl's mom give her a pathetic lesson and have the girl shooting the ground and possibly other people at the range, or teach her to shoot safely and properly? It was just a job anyway. Honestly the gun situation in this country is totally out of hand. I hate it. Cartels use our guns to massacre civilians in the streets. We export guns all around the world which end up in the hands of violent criminals. Hoorayyy Democracy. <_< -
I've never played wow. And for the record, this script has already been made and does function in the mod. Try thinking outside the box instead of trying to apply cookie cutter molds to different types of games. DayZ is a Massive, Multiplayer, Online game. Get over it. MMO does not mean any specific kind of feature or not. It's just a designation for those specified features, which DayZ does possess.

People who are hating on this idea should really take a loot at the perma identity suggestion. It's air tight. Cursor spamming to find opponents simply would not happen. Furthermore, it makes covering your face something you might actually want to do to hide your identity. Think about it for a moment. In real life, you can recognize someone you've seen before from behind. Why? Because every single person has a different build, height, eye and hair color, different facial features, different ways of moving their body, which all make them instantly identifiable to you. There's simply no way to simulate this in the game, short of making a full character customization pane ala TES - and let's face it, that isn't going to happen. Not likely. We've already seen screen shots of the Mauser, the crossbow, hunting rifle, along with many other civilian weaponry. Making items rare is simply a matter of editing the loot tables. Also, I don't see why everyone thinks it takes a rocket scientist to shoot a gun. They're really easy to use. I've taught a 7 year old girl to shoot bulls-eyes consistently, within the span of about 30 minutes. -
Actually, that is technically possible. Rifle rounds are supersonic, meaning they travel faster than the sound of the shot.

The only reason the m4 is so common is because it and the Mosin are literally the only rifles in the game. They did that to make a template for the attachment system so creating other weapon assets would be simple and streamlined. Also, you seem to be forgetting that the goal is to have at least a couple thousand zombies on the map... #Alpher -

You need to know your blood type before you get a transfusion, otherwise you'll likely die. Use a saline bag and IV if you can find one. -

The game isn't even done yet. How do you expect to make a comprehensive, fully integrated map when many of the assets that will be in the final game don't even exist yet? Modding will not be allowed until later, when the build is more solid and they know how they want to allow it. -
In the standalone, yes. There is blood type, and yes. It does change when you respawn. Test yourself every time you spawn.

We need windage and elevation adjustments like A.C.E for any sniper rifles. It's only fair. You want to try and snipe me, fine. But it should at least take some skill.

The mod ran off scripts, which enabled most of it's gameplay features. For the SA they have ported these features to engine code, which needs a lot of work and along the way is open to interpretation and improvement. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right. That's why. If you like the mod, literally nobody is stopping you from playing the mod. -

How do people have such problems finding something as simple as food and water? I find myself trading food items to maximize inventory space, and I still have plenty to gorge on and get full. When you are fully fed and hydrated, your character will regenerate blood. It's really not that hard to make a recovery. -
