The mod is very well alive to this date. Plenty of servers and communities for you to play on. Definitely worth it. Regarding playing alone...well, generally when you first start out you may find it challenging, but you shall get better at it as you go along. But sometimes playing alone can be harder than with friends, sometimes it can be easier. Personal preference, really. If you have any more questions, feel free to PM me.

In order to be globally banned you have either hacked/cheated, or your CD-key has been stolen and the theif hacked/cheated using that. The DayZ Staff and Developers cannot do anything to help you. Read the stickies and contact BattlEye.

No, it means you have been globally banned. The code is the first six digits of your GUID [which is unique to you]. In order to receive a global ban, you needn't play DayZ. You have either hacked or cheated while playing Arma 2, or your CD-key has been stolen and the thief has hacked using it. Or, you have played DayZ and are just saying you haven't in order to raise your chances of being unbanned. We cannot help you here, so you must contact BattlEye.
