The argument wasn't that any game in first person view was hardcore. -

Oh, as the list of points was posted a few days after your explanation there, it appeared as if there was no explanation. So, I apologise if you have explained before: what about player interaction? -

You have yet to elaborate upon those listed points and explain how exactly 3rd person contributes to them. You are the one who lacks the explanation; also, I wasn't saying that my opinion is superior, I was merely saying that your points aren't exactly the best. So please, how does third person encourage role-playing? -- As someone said, Sausage's suggestion has been the best so far. -

Your points here are rather weak. Role playing? -

This. -- Being apart of the hardcore or casual community has nothing to do with how you play currently, but how you wish to see the mod and Standalone to be like [hardcore for hardcore players, casual for casual players; it is rather self-explanatory] that categories you into the hardcore or casual community.

Thanks, and m.cab.

So. Someone please inform me correctly on the following: 1. There is a huge performance difference between the EU and US DayZero servers. 2. The pay to win [essentially] thing is only on the US servers.
-
Stop that
-
That still does not alter the existence of the contradiction.
-
Well, you said that DayZero brought one back to the vanilla greatness of the DayZ Mod [in its earlier stages, I presume], however there is an option for players to purchase and spawn with gear.
-
That's somewhat contradictory. Just saying.

Personally, I prefer the DMR over any other sniper rifle, for various reasons: 1. The ammo is beyond easy to find, compared to Nato and SVD Dragonuv rounds. 2. It is the only sniper compatible with NVGs--this if not one of, it's THE main reason why it is better than the others. 3. You can fire it as fast as you can spam your mouse button. That way, you can get two or three shots off before your AS50 opposition can even get two off, let alone one. 4. It increases your skill as a marksman-- I was watching Sacriel42's latest video where it was him using an M24. It showed skill, accuracy and knowledge because it is not a one shot kill anywhere on the body, unlike the AS50. I've used the AS50 at its max range, and I achieved two or three kills at that range. Hell of a shot, but without the one shot kill ability of the AS50, I couldn't have pulled it off. It was too easy, personally. Of course, there are some cons to the DMR, such as: 1. No zeroing, which makes it harder if you don't know how to use the mildots. Actually, that's the only con I could think of. DISCLAIMER: I love the AS50. I love it almost as much as the DMR. If I'm running in the group one of us will ALWAYS have an AS50 for sniping, counter-sniping and to take out vehicles, such as a chopper. What's your favourite sniper? EDIT: Did I mention that the DMR is compatible with NVGs? ;D EDIT #2: This is merely personal preference, people. I am the designated marksman for both night and day, thus I run an AS50 for day and a DMR for night. Without a DMR when it's night, you're fucked. And don't gamma it up, people. That's just borderline cheating. Also, if you master the DMR or any other non-one shot kill [except for the headshot]/not .50 cal, then you master pretty much every sniper. EDIT: Gamma exploiting, really? They should fix that. Honestly people...

I didn't say you were comparing the mod against a mod, nor did I imply that I interpreted it like that. I do believe that the Standalone will be compared to other game titles, i.e. The Division, as opposed to primarily a mod.
-
Lol? All I was saying that the comparison is unfair. Which means that I am in favour of DayZero. It is an excellent mod. Calm down.
-
I don't think that comparing a mod of a mod with a game is a fair comparison.
