Every single time i get geared it deletes all my gear

If you spawn at the coast after logging in, especially near Kamenka, log out and find another server. Eventually you should spawn at your last location. Fave servers that work, and remove when they break.

    Starting DayZ playthrough.

    It's a "Let's Play." Not a playthrough. You can't win/complete DayZ.

    US 704 mass deaths!

It's BattleEye's job to prevent hacking, not the coders of ARMA or Rocket.
  4. Yes, they do. Problems are to be fixed even in the alpha stage. It's not like you can fix every little thing when it becomes beta or final release.

tents on a server and dropped items

Tents are supposed to survive server restarts, though they might still glitch out or lose items from them. Tents are per server. Tents can be looted from items by anyone, but only the owner can pick up the tent. Dropped items do not survive server restarts. Dropped items are per server. Dropped items do disappear after some time.
  6. Trust me, your loot means very little to me, as I have managed to stash food, drinks, ammo and a few weapons for myself, in case I die. So I have no interest in killing you, since I think it'd be more useful to have someone watch my back while looting, and the other way around. Hell, you can have my AKS-74u if we meet up.

    Prerquisites

Kid, DayZ is a mod. It's a mod that uses things from ARMA 2 and ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead. That is why the mod requires you to have both games. Now go practice your grammar. That's what school is for.
  8. Well if you happen to get near the NW airfield, let me know, and I could join you. And as much as that sounds like I'm a backstabber, nah. I just have a camp relatively close to the area, so I'm most likely around.

Not everyone is a potential enemy.

OP, do you happen to be Billy? Someone made a thread that matches your story perfectly.

Is killing other players really that fun?

If you have a gun, you're a threat. If someone has one of those "big guns", they tend to get attached to it. So if they find someone with a gun, they're only protecting their own loot, since there's no telling who might shoot at you without a warning. I'm not like this, but most are.

    STARTING EQUIPMENT

What damage do you possibly think you can do with a flimsy, small knife? Especially in the back? All you do is poke the zombie, pissing it off even more and revealing your location, with even less chance to run away. Zombies are known to only die by killing the brain, not by poking the organs with a metal stick. (I know, we still can kill zombies with bodyshots, but let's not make it even less zombie-like. At least bullets break bones and rip muscle tissue. Besides that little thing I seemed to make a huge deal out of; I'm against the idea. We used to start with a Revolver and later on with a Makarov. But with all the new people who just shoot on sight, I think it's better that we don't have weapons to start with. The point of the game is loot and survive. Starting with a gun removes the initial defencelessness. (Whatever the correct word is.)

    NEW RACE IDEA!

Oh ho hooo, I see what you did there. Brilliant. But no. Edit; You CAN pick a race/face/skin color by making a new profile from the main menu. And you ARE harder to see in the night if you pick a black guy. Just saying.

We need some sort of overall stats system

We don't -need- overall stats, but I'd say some/most of us would -want- overall stats just for curiosity/brag rights. Edit; Myself included. +1.
  14. 14, about to turn 15? You seem damn smart for that to be true, compared to others of that age I've seen, even older than that. Unfortunately I don't use a mic. Otherwise I would consider.

    Pitching a tent...

The placement is definitely buggy, so you need to always take a few steps back after trying to place it once. And I pretty much use my tent as a resupply point. I have an AKM, AKS-74u, Mossberg and M24 along with food, water, and ammo in my tent in case I die. That way I don't need to spend any time in Chernogorsk or other areas.

You're doing it right. The game/mod is supposed to bring up emotions in the player, frustration included. And that obviously the way to get them, like you told us yourself.
  17. Dancing.Russian.Man

    Pitching a tent...

That's why you should pitch it somewhere away from towns or where you'd think no one would look. Like me, I placed my tent basically -under- a pine tree. Half of it is covered.

Two of us killing zombies at the airfield

You guys need to practice shooting a bit more, I'd say. Not to mock you or anything, but the AKM kills zombies in one hit, and I see you taking 3-5 shots at a single zombie. And your friend's AK-74 takes 2 body-hits or a headshot to kill a zombie.

    Infected dogs

I don't see how the dog barking would let the zombies know where -you- are. It's like throwing a whiskey bottle and the zombies investigate your position instead of where the bottle landed. It'd make more sense if zombies within 100-200m would investigate the dog that's barking, and that's all they do. The dog itself would of course attack the player, and the growls/barks would attract more zombies to its location,

    Pitching a tent...

You know, you can store items into a tent, and you CAN prone in front of it and crawl into it.

The journey is what's important, not the destination. And you have to accept that your destination will always be the grave.

If DayZ was Real, how would you act?

The same way I act in DayZ. Be as sneaky as a shadow during the night, quieter than an empty room, and be a loner.
  24. Dancing.Russian.Man

    Server violating the quidelines.

Those do exist, though. I've been kicked for having too high ping (180-ish), while other servers are fine with me being there. The reason why I have that kind of ping is because I play in the US servers with friends or to avoid day-light, while I'm located in Finland.

How "safe" do you play ?

I run about 50-200m away from roads, depending on their size. (50m for dirt paths, 200m for highways/asphalt.) The only people I trust are the ones I'm currently in a Skype call with, while playing. I avoid players as much as possible. But, for example, about 20 minutes ago when I was looting the NW Airfield, I was at the very top of the firestation tower when someone was coming up my only escape route with an Enfield, so I shot him the second I saw his head. (Hi, XS-SYS.) When I'm playing solo, I usually just head in-land as soon as possible, which usually means after I find a hatchet, since that's all I need. But when playing in a group, I'm the knowledge-base for the whole group, and usually just follow around and give alternative decisions. I'm usually the one who navigates to/through/from places, as well.
