There's key-binding settings for a reason. Z = Prone X = Crouch C = Stand Just stand up and your character will run. Or hold shift, depends how you've set it up. Double-tapping shift will toggle run/walk mode. Also double-tapping W will make you (stand up and) sprint even faster, but that increases your thirst.

Try a lower resolution, and make sure to use the 100% 3D resolution. (Too high causes heavy lag, too low makes your screen blurry.) -

Trust me, I do that when I'm playing with friends. If I stop to type, they might shoot at me out of panic. Instead, I don't stop to give myself time to aim, and they'll get the hint that I'm not hostile, but are careful until they are confirmed that it's me. (I don't use a mic, so no need to point that out.) You can't shoot while running, you know. -

I liked the idea of 100 zombies. 30? I get that much when I just don't give a damn and run from building to building. But, the server I usually play on, has 1200 zombies max when there are 4-5 players on-server. -
Very true. But I consider everything I ever get in the game, already lost. So if my tent does get raided, oh well, that's what I signed up for, for trying out the Alpha version of the mod. And the gear on me? It's a perma-death game and I know it.

I agree with this idea. I've even been thinking about it myself. (But obviously haven't made a thread about it.) Berries should be a very weak but easily found source of food -AND- water, refilling a tiny bit of both when consumed. And there are pumpkins in some backyards. At first I thought they were harvestable, but apparently not. I'd imagine it would require a knife to carve/prepare it.

They could've just been trying to get within chat-range just to thank you for it. I mean, if they were armed and saw you, they could've just started shooting at you from where they were. If they were unarmed, you're a dick for shooting them. What threat are they to you? (No offence. I don't know the situation.) Edit; Good to know, though, and it's good to hear that at least some people are helping others, even if from a distance. -

Agreed, though I haven't ran into many(if any) hackers. Still, it's not the coders' fault.

You'll have to find a spot in the game and run there by foot. There's no way to make a "group" or spawn near one another.

Pretty much what Piemanpm said. Always assume that your tent was looted, unless you were there when the server went down. -
I believe he(Rocket) said somewhere that if he was competent in updating the DayZ mod, he'd be a millionaire and working hard on getting herpes. (Meaning, banging all the ladies.) Though, this just be a made-up quote. I sure found it hilarious.

Oh, no idea on that. I'm using the Six Launcher, which is much more simple than the in-game system. -
