As long as DayZ stays as a mod, that's impossible. Standalone will not have BattleEye, I guarantee you that. Rocket himself has said in an interview that he has hoped that the mod would die down a little, because they simply cannot keep up with the community.

Playing as your opposite gender doesn't make you a queer. You have to keep in mind that the DayZ devs have to deal with a broken code for.. everything, when modding something this vast on ARMA 2. When they seemingly fix one thing, it most likely glitched something else, and it's not their fault. When DayZ goes standalone, they'll be making everything from scratch. And that way everything is more optimized for their code, and they can fix problems such as artifacts much more faster. Edit;(Assuming that there are even going to be any.) I don't get why people see problems in the DayZ mod, and instantly lose faith in the standalone, forgetting the fact that Rocket and his team never created any of the assets in DayZ, besides some textures, which cannot glitch out like this. And I guess the crossbow and Double-Barrel Shotgun.

He never said that. You can't even install DayZ if you don't have OA. He's using the demo of ARMA 2, which is "ARMA 2: Free". It's the same thing, but has lower resolution textures. (MUCH lower res.)

No, it's nothing new. You should check the date of the youtube videos you watch before trying out a game. The mod is in Alpha, and as such, many things can change very quickly.

That's only true when you have one pointed at you. When you're the one with a sniper rifle, whether it's in-game or in real life, there are a lot of things good about the thing you're holding.

I agree. The pumpkins stood out SO WELL the first time I saw them that I thought that they were intractable. Lost 20 minutes by standing there.

1. This is not COD. 2. Contrary to what I -just- wrote, it is still realistic, and gets one point from me, as long as it was realistic to the point where you could move attachments from one weapon to another. 3. There is currently not enough variations of weapons to realistically implement what you're looking to suggest. The DayZ devs aren't going to start making new models for weapons since the official announcement of DayZ Standalone.

It's easy to spot and even easier to camp with a rifle from a distance. Edit; So I watched the video -after- making this post. So what? The location of the camp is right on the border of the map, far off to the West, behind the large foresty area. It doesn't really count as an "open field" when you have to run 15 minutes through thick forest to get there.

Come on. That's uncalled for, towards anyone. If it's a new player, who knows that there is a choice, but doesn't get it because of a bug when playing the game, of course they will come asking for help. Actually it's not a case of sexism. There's simply something bugged about the female player model, and changing it doesn't work for some reason.

Nope. Trust me. My friend was quite the rampant hacker in terms of teleporting and spawning items. Though he is banned now, as expected. Most "hackers" on DayZ/ARMA 2 use scripts to hack. Not actual third-party programs. Not even actual, legit admins and server hosts can use scripts on DayZ.

Hacking admin. Hackers cannot make themselves admins. Admins cannot teleport.

There hasn't even been a patch since the problems started. Of course it's not working, yet.

Standalone =/= Final product. It's simply departing from ARMA 2, and will no longer be a mod. Hence the title "STAND ALONE." Minecraft was a standalone, and you could buy it in its Alpha-stage, back in the day. This is exactly what DayZ is doing. Buy it once, updates are free forever. Edit; Blah. Max beat me to it.

I've been everywhere on Chernarus (As far as I know) and I've NEVER seen a heli-pad. A spawned prop, maybe?
