I haven't been playing since 1.7.2, but I still follow the forums pretty much daily. I can see why people do and don't hack. Me, I'm just waiting for the standalone, where we can all finally have peace.

Humanity SLOOOOWLY regenerates at the rate of like +3 humanity per second until you hit +2500 humanity. Other than that, you need to give blood transfusions to get humanity back up. It'll also reset when you die. -

First things first; There is only ONE hive. Who ever told you that private "hives" are "hack free" lied to you. BIG TIME. Before 1.7.2 there used to be only the DayZ hive, and private servers weren't allowed. Hackers were rampant because server admins weren't allowed to ban the people on their servers. Now that people have private servers and are allowed to ban people with proof (logs), it's safer. When a server admin detects a hacker, he can be banned almost instantly from the server. Hackers don't tend to bother with non-hive servers since they can get banned from them easily. Therefor they are safer to play on.

If you can't join any secured servers, you've been globally banned, and that means that you have to buy the game again and change your key in the registery, but it also means that you most likely tried to download some hacks/scripts that changed your original CD key to a banned one. OR You were most likely banned from that specific server. All you need to do is find another. -

I take offence to this! In so many levels! Edit; I should also mention that I'm not really from Russia. I'm from the part of Russia that kicked its ass and left it bleeding on the side of the street(Finland). But I still take offence in you wanting to ban the whole damn country and everyone in it from your server, because of a few bad apples. Do you actually play DayZ yourself, outside of your own server? Literally everybody gets kicked for script restrictions just for standing still and being afk. It's a BattleEye bug, not actual scripts most of the time. -
The Laser Marker is used to call in an artillery-strike in ARMA2/OA. Since there are none in the map in Chernarus, you can't use it. Not sure if you can -actually- project a laser, but someone can try by toggling the NV-mode and pressing L, N or which ever button you have set for flashlight. Can't remember exactly what button toggles it.
