What Should I Upgrade to Improve FPS Rate?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Infiniti's topic in New Player Discussion
What ever you end up doing, don't download any "tweak programs" to do it for you. You'll lose your key and/or get labeled as a hacker when you come back, asking about a global ban. -
There will be underground buildings that any player can build out of various materials. These "buildings" can, and WILL be used as hidden storage areas. There was concept art posted on the russian forums(though in english), showing options of a simple, shallow hole so you can bury your backpack, a larger hole with a door at the top with dirt on it, which is able to store even more, and even a 2x4 meter underground room which you could enter, and it had a light-source, lockable door, and a stash box in it. So stop complaining.

The host for the server can wipe everyone's characters whenever they want. Get used to it or switch servers.

Global ban for no reason
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to KingZesty's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
- Reason for your ban will (probably) not be disclosed. - You cannot be unbanned. Ever. - Obviously you did something wrong, since you're banned. - Yes, in order to get "unbanned," you have to make a new account on Steam and buy the game again. Enjoy. -
Yes.

Two thoughts turned into one
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Steak and Potatoes's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
This is, assuming that you can transfer ownership of your dog so it doesn't disappear when you log off, an awesome idea to cause havoc. :3 -
Will this new game 'standalone' be Playable for mac?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to HCMT23's topic in New Player Discussion
Wait, what? That's incredibly cheap for an AAA game. Are you sure it was only $120k? -
You lost me at Brink. There are a lot better games that have the same vault-system as Brink. But I agree with you. But these things weren't considered necessary while ARMA 2 was in development. You have to understand that DayZ is currently just a mod, and I bet Rocket has bigger things in the works(standalone, mod stability) than adding animations. And as far as I understand it, the ARMA 2 engine doesn't support multiple animations. For example, you can't run and shoot. Not even straight forward.

I hate hackers so much.
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Brack (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
These posts pretty much sum the entire topic up. Edit your post if you feel like something needs to be added or changed. Don't double/triple post. And.. M24 is not a high-end weapon. And why would you ever use two sniper rifles? Both of those are useless anyway during night-time. I would understand AS50 and a DMR or something.. Edit; So you couldn't find anything to replace it. So? I would've dropped it when I found an AS50. It's not worth mentioning if you claim to have a 40-day-old character. (And how is it that in 40 days, you couldn't find anything else but an AS50 and M24? Any assault rifle would be better if you have an AS50.) -
Suggestion to prevent logging out when shot dead
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Xylus's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
For the standalone, this would be very much doable. It's just weird that this person is suggesting the exact thing that is already in the mod. You'd think that they implemented almost every feature from the mod into the standalone at first. -
The best anticheat system?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to wullybee's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The only official anti-cheat is BattleEye. Anything else; No idea. -
Suggestion to prevent logging out when shot dead
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Xylus's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
ARMA 2's engine and/or netcode doesn't work that way. It's not possible to be done as far as I know. -
Suggestion to prevent logging out when shot dead
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Xylus's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Do you even play DayZ? There is a combat indicator. When you shoot, or get a shot near you, it will start flashing. While it flashes, your "Abort" button is disabled. Not sure if you get insta-killed if you ALT-F4 while it flashes. -
Bayonets could be used for more than just silently killing zombies, too. For example, if a zombie sneaks up to you from the side/behind, you could just stab it in the torso to prevent it from getting its hands on you or at least biting. Or for totally brutal kills. Stab a player in the chest and open fire while pushing them back. Edit; And, it wouldn't have to even be a proper bayonet. Just duct-tape a machete, a knife, or any sharp object to the end.

Weapon Maintenance in SA? Gun Customization?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Daniel701's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Customizing and degrading is already confirmed. Use the search next time. -
Even if you need a "specific answer on this," you're still supposed to use the search to avoid making duplicate threads. Being lazy is not an excuse, it's not like the standalone is coming out tomorrow, nor that you need to buy it on day one. Edit; But god damn it, I'm a nice person, really. The zombie movement will be changed and the animations will get tweaked. The reason why zombies try to flank you is because of the AI they use. It's an engine limitation, like a lot of the current things in the mod.

Gutters filling water bottles.
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Maybe even leave a bottle(or a wider pot for better results) out in the rain, while you sit nearby in some cover? Clean water, no need to even boil it to make it safely drinkable. (Not all gutters are clean, y'kno?) -
With the settings being mostly server-side, skinning won't be possible. Especially because DayZ won't be running on Source Engine, which is very easily skinnable client-side. Even if it's not exactly supported by the game. Also, people really need to stop reposting the damn developer blog. It's in the announcement section for a REASON. Edit; Literally. It's right there, the very first topic under the stickies. http://puu.sh/1vFu6

Loot spawns and Zeds in 1.7.4.4
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to fire_hazard's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I don't think you need an admin to qualify to answer this. A jackpot like that is not normal. If it's a private hive, they possibly have custom loot-rates, or something glitched out. Or were the FALs, M14s and other loot seen over several crash sites? If so, that's totally normal. (You've worded it a little weird, so I'm not exactly sure what exactly you've found, or where.) -
What did I get killed by?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Undead Knight's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Was it Namalsk? The map you were on, I mean. -
Would thhis be suitable?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to iwannaplaydayZ's topic in New Player Discussion
Yeah, it'll run DayZ, especially the standalone. The mod, who knows. ARMA 2 is badly optimized. -
Should we have squad/friend Spawns?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to TeNnAnT 93's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
The bad sides out-weight the good sides. -
