Private hives were allowed while you were away. You most likely joined a private hive. And even if you didn't, there were a lot of problems such as people losing their gear, having their locations/gear/entire characters wiped several times over, but it's all fixed now. Find a server and stick to it to make sure it won't happen again.

Realistically speaking, not everything can be disarmed. For example string traps. Around the Cold War in Finland, people would leave guns laying against their front doors, meaning that it was abandoned. Sometimes people attached small, hardly noticeable strings in one of the ends of the gun, that would eventually lead into a pin somewhere, which would get pulled off if the gun was moved even slightly. (Yeah, it is still disarmable, but near-impossible if it was armed right.) I believe Germans also had these nasty little grenades they would plant in the soil, with only the pin on the surface. If you'd step on one of these, the pin would bend/break(or had a spring) and cause the grenade/mine to go off. (Or go off after you lifted your foot, if it had the spring. Causing great fear and panic in those who realized they had stepped on one before lifting their foot.)

Why limit things to just a base? Drag a body somewhere where it's relatively easy to find, but not an obvious trap. Then just set a string-trap on the body, and when someone picks the pockets of said body, everything goes boom. Same with enterable buildings. Once you loot it you litter it with traps. Bear traps, pressure sensitive explosives, strings attached to pins of grenades.. Only to kill someone unfortunate enough to try and loot the place you already ransacked. Just imagine how discouraging it would be to approach a town when you just heard a crack or a blast, followed by some screams of pain.

Teleporting out of control
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to specterm's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
There is Gotcha! Anti-Hack. It seems pretty fool-proof against teleporting. -
It will run.

Takeonhelicopters Controls (SA)
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Faggala's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
DayZ is not going to be using the TakeOnHelicopters engine. It'll just use bits and pieces from a couple different engines, but mainly ARMA 2.(RV2) Plus, it's being ridded of scripts/modding and optimized with the help of BIS. -
One thing to point out is the fact that your arms won't stay up if you have any weapons on. Especially if you have a primary. You'll flip it onto your back, put your hands up, lower your hands, and take the rifle back on the front. This is pretty much a death-sentence in DayZ.

where the fck did my stuff go?!?
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to 1nsane (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Find a server you like, and stick to that one. That's your best bet on keeping your progress. But even so, the server host can do a roll-back on the server, reverting EVERYBODY's progress. They can also completely wipe it if they desire. -
Just curious about this RemoteExec line in the logs
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Idon's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I'm not familiar with the functions that scripts can use, but allowDammage false; feels a lot like a god-mode hack. And disableAI 'FSM';this disableAI 'ANIM';this disableAI 'MOVE'; might have something to do with an invisibility hack, preventing zombies(AI) from detecting you, use the attack animation around you, and disable their movement. Again, just going with what it sounds like. -
LegitDayZ Community needs people. Whitelist, hunger games, events, and more!
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to Lucent's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Trust me, I know what LegitDayZ.com is. I've seen their servers quite often, even played in some. Haven't had too many problems while playing, but a new empty account coming to advertise their site is a little.. Eh. And felt like my post was rather fitting. -
You'll need to install Combined Operations, aka, ARMA 2 and Operation Arrowhead.

Posted Today 07:34 > Bumped twice within the same minute > Quadra-posted right after bumps. Yup. I'm sure your server and its staff is high-quality and mature. Edit; And then he sees my post and edits the messages to hide the fact that all he posted was "BUMP" and "bump" for his two first posts. -
Fff- I read his post totally wrong. I thought he said that there will be NPCs in the Standalone. Edit; Aside from the actual zombies.
-
Good suggestion, and I approve. But you really should use the search next time.

Make zombies a little more slower and allow grouping.
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to ResidentEvil's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Topics like this are rather pointless, no? You don't explain your suggestions in any other way besides: "Add this." Zombies are actually going to be made FASTER(in the sense of them NOT walking in-doors anymore) in the standalone. Read the two links in my signature. You'll find that this mod/upcoming game isn't going to cater to the weaker minds. -
Add AR-15s in the standalone.
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to ResidentEvil's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
A little off-topic, but. Any weapon can be anyone's favorite. For whatever reason, be it just looks or sound. As for the topic itself; I doubt anything will be added simply because a handful of (read: one) people claim it as their favorite weapon. Is there any other reason why it should be added? -
First of all, have you ever played ARMA 2? Because I don't think you have. An AI "bandit" will spot you miles away, and rain hell on you with any weapon they have at hand. Every gun is a scoped sniper to them.

Let's have less hi-tech guns available
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to JimJam (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caucasus - Part of Russia is within Caucasus. 2. http://community.bis.../wiki/Chernarus - "Chernarus is a fictional post-Soviet country, accurately recreated from geographical data of real landscape." 3. http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Chernarus#People - "The population of Chernarus is a combination of Chernarussian and Russian people." And on the half of in-come, I have nothing to say. There's nothing I can say, because it's fictional. -

Dancing.Russian.Man replied to JimJam (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Chernarus(Based on Russia) is a third-world country? Do you happen to be from the States, by any chance? Servers can have their own loot-tables. Anybody can modify drop-rates on their own server, so just find one that has generally less (high-end)weapons. As for official DayZ-hive servers, well, you just have to wait or play somewhere else. -
globalban for no reason
Dancing.Russian.Man replied to xxshadowxx's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Read the sticky. Telling us about how you went out of the room to talk to somebody isn't going to help anyone. -
Discussion of the standalone defecation\poo feature
Dancing.Russian.Man posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
So, wait. Is the defecation a REAL thing for the standalone? -
You most likely had a severe case of Dickus Glitchus. Sometimes zombies can one-hit you in the legs, causing them to break. It used to be very common, but now it's rather rare. But! Player(and zombie) models can collide, meaning that sometimes if a zombie runs right into you, they can either push you slightly, send you flying, or send themselves flying. Also causing rather major damage to both parties. So I guess that happened. Edit; God damn furries infesting this fine forum. Welcome.
-
The ban was issued by BattleEye. How do you expect anyone else to be able to resolve this faster than them? Edit; Besides, this is a ban from ARMA 2, not DayZ. There is nothing anyone can do, here.

Disconnecting might leave you stranded in some random place for ages. So I'd just try to escape or kill the hacker. If I die, oh well. Not gonna kill bambis.

Epi-pen isn't used to treat shock in DayZ as far as I know. So this entire topic is pointless.
